Chapter 243 - Getting Rid Of The Car Rather Than Not Having His Bride Appear At The Alter.

And when she was done blushing, she faked a serious look ad she wiped her teary eyes while sniffing.

Everyone around laughed at her.

Liu Longwei wanted to laugh along with them, but he dared not do so for fear of provoking her. So he had a hard time holding in his laughter.

"Don't cry anymore, ok?" Liu Longwei said to her.

"Who is crying? It's not like I'm a child," Chen Lihua whispered inaudibly, without being in the least embarrassed.

'Who was the one that was crying earlier on, a ghost?' This was the question everyone that witnessed Chen Lihua's little drama asked themselves.

Liu Longwei spoke to her for a little while before the video call ended.

And after that, Chen Lihua's friends dragged her off to get dressed for the bridal shower.

Chen Lihua didn't want to leave the car, because it was too comfortable for her. So her friends took a while to haul her out of the car.

"Cry baby, you need to come out quickly for your bridal shower, so you will have more than enough time for your beauty sleep," Kendall said while holding unto one of her hands.

Chen Lihua was reluctant, but she came down anyways. It's not like the car was running away.

"This car is too comfortable and well-furnished for me to resist. What will you all say if I refuse to come down from the car when we arrive at the church tomorrow?" Chen Lihua teased with a serious facial expression while smoothing out her dress after she came down from the car.

Everyone stopped in their steps, pausing in their actions as they all stood to stare at her with shocked and ugly expressions on their faces.

Liu Dongmei was the first to break the silence as she said earnestly, "Then, my brother would probably get rid of the car without minding the expenses. Umm...I think he would rather do that than not having his bride appear at the altar."

Madam Liu cleared her throat, while Lady Chen glared angrily at her daughter for making such a remark.

"Lihua, you'd better mind the kind of jokes you tell."

It seemed as if this sentence made Chen Lihua come back to her senses as she suddenly realized that her mother, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law we're still present.

So she smiled awkwardly and said, "I am sorry, I was just joking."

"It's alright," Liu Huiling said before walking off with the others, while Chen Lihua and her friends walked behind.

"Lihua, don't joke like that again. You almost gave us a scare," One of her home (Chinese) friends said with a worried look.

"That's right, you shouldn't tell such bad jokes on a day like this," Gigi said.

"Alright, mummies, I have heard you all," Chen Lihua said while rolling her eyes.

"Alright... alright, let's get the party started before the other guests start to arrive," One of them reminded the rest. They all quickly hurried inside for a change of dress.

Chen Lihua didn't know much about bridal parties, so she left all the work and planning to her friends to handle.

So this means that she was not aware of most of the items being used for the bridal party.

Her job was to get dressed and look beautiful.

Her friends actually got her the dress she was putting on, and it was a short white gown.

She looked quite sexy in that dress.

She had her hair in an updo, with a nude make up on her face. Her body was adorned with few red ruby jewelry, and her outfit complimented with a red three inches stilettos on her feet.

While walking outside the house, she was excited as she couldn't wait to see what her friends planned.

The venue was right in the house, at the backside, and it was fully decorated.

Chen Lihua couldn't believe eyes while staring at the decorations, they were magnificent.

How come she didn't know when all these plans and decorations were going on?

Well, it wasn't her fault, she has been quite as busy like a bee without a chance to slack off. So how could she have known?

The only thing she knew was that there was going to be a special bridal shower, which she knew since she sent out her wedding invitations.

She thought the party was going to be simple, that's why she didn't put any effort into planning anything.

But even though she still prepared big presents for those that we're going to be in attendance.

When her friends (bridesmaids) talked about inviting some people, she didn't panic because she had got more than enough gifts.

The only thing she was worried about was how the small party was going to be. Still, her friends (bridesmaids) told her not to worry, that everything was already taken care of.

And because she trusted them, she decided not to put her mind at the party. And that's why she didn't prepare any special dress beforehand.

And before she could decide on putting on one of the dresses she already had before then, her friends handed her the short white dress.

Like they said, 'everything had been taken care of.'

Chen Lihua felt so grateful to them, they were really her true pals.

As she walked to the venue, the photographer who had been invited early on, immediately began his work.

He started taking shots of Chen Lihua and all that were present.

It's not like Chen Lihua was taking photographs for magazine cover, so there was no need for her to pose. So she just acted like the camera was non-existent.

Most of her friends were in attendance, even the ones she hadn't set her eyes on since she came back to China.

Her friends from different parts of the world were present in other to celebrate her. Her cousins, and so on.

Understanding Chen Lihua's nature, none of her friends invited any male counterparts, it was just a ladies thing.
