Undying Warlord

711 Stick-in-you-ass attitude

Dilan didn’t really have the patience to listen to a drawn-out story.

The Lightning Titan was not really a born storyteller either. He was decent at telling a story but he took way too long to get to the point.

It was quite obvious that the planet was devastated because there was not a single ounce left within the planet. Dilan was already quite surprised that the planet was still intact, in the first place.

It should have long since been ripped apart.

“Some Abandoned Children, who had been thrown into this hellhole of a monster planet, survived. They desperately fought, and they overcame all hurdles by making use of their mutated powers.

A few Abandoned Children were able to continue growing their powers as long as they continued to grow as well. The Demon of the Ancient Battlefield was one of them. He was only a few years old but devoured Essence Crystals like crazy. Years passed and no new Abandoned Children had been sent to this hellhole for a long time.

That was also why the Ancients and Primordials didn’t even notice what kind of monstrosities they created by giving the Abandoned Children the chance to survive. Fed by hatred and desperation the Abandoned Children grew stronger, and more resilient and their powers evolved more and more.

As for the Demon of the Ancient Battlefield, his Powers devoured everything in his surrounding area. Every speck of life was used to give him the strength he needed to survive and fight against his opponents.

He ended up becoming the youngest True God in the existence of the known Universe and it was already too late when the Ancients and Primordials came and sent new Abandoned Children to their monster planet. No Abandoned Children were left behind and the entire life on the planet had been devoured.

Only the Demon of the Ancient Battlefield was left behind after he sent the Abandoned Children to a different place.

After that, a big battle occurred and the Demon of the Ancient Battlefield killed and devoured his own parents, who had been Ancient True Gods, though on the weaker side…for an Ancient race.”

When the Lightning Titan finished his story, Dilan merely nodded his head.

“Are these weird Veilure-devouring monsters extinct now?” He thus asked rather than feigning interest in the rest of the story.

There were many people with a terrible past, Dilan included. It was not necessary to talk too much about the Abandoned Children because Dilan was also one, just in a different sense.

“I think the Abandoned Children annihilated them all over the known universe, but I’m not sure about that. I was not a member of their generation,” The Lightning Titan answered, which caused me to sight deeply.

“…Fools…”

Annihilating the veilure-devouring monsters was the stupidest thing the Abandoned Children could have done. It was fine doing it on the small monster planet but traveling across the Universe to do the same was plain foolish.

Dilan had hardly rumors about monsters with the ability to exude the energy of the things they had absorbed, and that included the knowledge and information he had received from the Soul Shards in the City of Trials and the Great WIse’s Library.

He knew that he didn’t read every single book in the Library of the City of Trials but he finished the best combination of books. Furthermore, he had the best teachers by his side. Thus, he was informed about everything that could help him to prevent the prophecy.

Yet, he hadn’t heard about those Veilure-devouring monsters. They were probably a breed that appeared after the City of Trials had been created…or they had been annihilated before the City of Trials had been constructed.

One way or another, it was messed up and Dilan was quite frustrated about it.

However, before he could curse out once again, Dilan noticed something from his right. His body reacted instinctively by pushing to the side with Walk of Thunder, Second Acceleration activated followed by the Zephyr Step movement technique that was unleashed.

The black ground below him burst open, creating a large crater while the rubble and debris were flung in all directions.

Dilan’s Mythic Eyes were activated but he could hardly see anything to his left.

His body was suddenly shrouded in golden flames. The Flame of the Beginning had reacted instinctively, protecting Dilan, and it was no sooner that razor-sharp fangs shot out of the ground.

A huge maw of darkness formed around Dilan, whose speed transcended the ordinary capabilities of a True God. There was no way an ordinary being could have created the maw of darkness around him, let alone make sure that it could crunch on his bones by biting through his abdomen.

Dilan’s body was severed and the lower half of his body was instantly drained of its life force.

Forced to regenerate the lower half of his body, Dilan activated the True Undying Essence for a quarter of a second. That was already enough to heal fully and to shoot toward the Lightning Titan, who was calmly looking into the darkness.

“What a nasty ability. Don’t you know how to talk?!?” Dilan shouted out loud, ready to fight.

However, this time, he wouldn’t hold back. It was not possible to fight the being shrouded in darkness with his body alone. He would have to go all out, and use everything!”

“Don’t worry, I knew that you would heal. The Undying is not that easy to kill, after all!” A throaty voice rang through Dilan’s ears from every possible direction.

He swallowed his saliva while the tension within his body increased drastically, just to hear a light laughter from his side.

“You are still the same as before, with this stick in your ass attitude!” The Lightning Titan laughed loudly.

However, just a moment after he finished his sentence, the Lightning Titan’s presence changed drastically.

Crimson bolts of lightning emerged from all over his body and he clasped in his hand with all his might, releasing a ring-shaped shockwave of crimson lightning in all directions.

“We don’t have time to play around!”
