Undying Warlord

[The host achieved the Impossible. Praise the Immortal!]

Dilan had finally found a pleasant way to use his ability merits. Breaking seals didn’t use nearly as many ability merits as he had expected. This was a nice and highly welcome surprise.

The changes that occurred to his Origin ability and constitution felt minuscule but their value was much higher than one could fathom at the first glance.

Dilan felt the same, which is why he carefully read through the new information several times.

[Overclock]

[Limit Breaker]

[Elemental Comprehension]

There weren’t many new things if one ignored the Undying Anchor Special trait, the doubled Mana Recovery and the emergence of [Overclock], [Limit Breaker], and [Elemental Comprehension].

Both Overclock and Limitbreaker were abilities that allowed the Ascender to go beyond the possible. Both were extremely useful functions but they were also extremely dangerous! As for Elemental Comprehension, it did exactly what its name suggested, providing Dilan with a much higher comprehension of the elements!

The only change Dilan was oblivious to was the Undying Anchor. There was no description Dilan could read to get to know more about that specific Special trait, but that was still fine.

Dilan was certain that he could defeat his father even if Arnes were to attempt cutting through his soul. Without his confidence, Dilan wouldn’t even think of attempting to rip apart his father because that would fail miserably.

With that in mind, he turned his attention to the bustling military base. Marie and Lara were by Rory’s side. The sisters talked to each other and they included the Red Dragon in their discussion as well.

Rory was the only one they knew of all the members of Dilan’s Undying Group. Thus, they could only ask the Red Dragon questions related to Dilan’s behavior in the Undying Group, his overall attitude, his achievements, and so on.

The sisters could tell that Dilan had changed a lot, but deep down he was still the same, somehow.

His love for his sisters was still genuine and so was his desire to make sure that they would be safe and away from every kind of danger!

That was enough for the young sisters to feel reassured that Dilan was still the same as before. He would sacrifice himself for his sisters’ safety. They had witnessed that numerous times in the past, and it was still the same, even if years had passed.

“Will you guys be fine without me?” Dilan asked when he walked up to his elder sisters. He gave them a smile but both Lara and Marie could clearly perceive the trace of nervousness he felt.

It was the first time in years that Dilan would meet his father again, and it would be the first time since he was born that he would dare to look his father in the eye and fight him head-on.

Even if his power might now be high enough to allow him to stand on equal footing with his father, there was still the mental trauma his father had given Dilan in childhood.

Overcoming them was likely to become the most difficult for him. Thus, Dilan had come up with a perfect plan to prevent his father from recognizing him right off the bat; the golden oni mask!

“We will be fine…as long as you come back to us!” Marie said, trying to sound confident and not to let her voice crack.

Meanwhile, Lara could only look intently at her younger brother. Dilan had been forced to act mature from an early age. He had already been the pillar for his older sisters, the pillar that protected them from his father’s beating.

He never ever hated his sisters for him getting beaten whenever they had bad grades, or if they did something slightly stupid that enraged their father. Dilan never complained even once and he always accepted whatever happened to him if it saved them from facing the ire of Arnes Cier.

Even when his sisters told him to run away from home so that he wouldn’t get killed by his very own father, Dilan was more concerned about his sisters’ well-being than his own.

“Don’t bother about us. We will be fine. Don’t you trust Rory?” Lara asked, stepping forward. She tried to control her emotions and gently reached for his head with both of her hands.

Lara pulled at his cheeks until they had reddened a little.

“I will never forgive you if you die! If dad is too strong, just run away, become stronger and fight him when you know how to defend against him!” She warned, glaring at him before she pulled Dilan into a hug.

Marie stepped forward when she saw that her siblings were hugging and she joined them.

“If you cannot kill him, we will beat up our dad, don’t worry!” Marie added, knowing deep down that it will never be possible for her and Lara to defeat their father.

Dilan knew this as well, but he understood what his sister wanted to tell him and felt happy about their concern. A faint smile appeared on his lips at her words and he hugged his elder sisters tightly.

A few minutes passed like this before he stepped back.

He looked at Rory, who looked down at him with a knowing expression.

‘Your first priority is to protect them, and your second priority is to figure out whether the Mekaz family is trying to fool both sides,’ Dilan reminded Rory. She nodded her head in an almost inconspicuous manner, which was more than enough for Dilan to trust her with everything that would happen.

“I will take your leave then,” Dilan said after putting on the Golden Oni Mask.

He ruffled through his sisters’ hair, smiled sheepishly, and turned around.

“Let’s meet each other in Camsun. Prepare a feast for me, hahaha!” He added before he looked back at them a last time.

Afterward, he disappeared with the use of [Instant Teleportation] leaving behind the sad sisters.

“He will be fine, right?” Lara asked.

“Yes, he will…hopefully,” Marie answered.

However, nobody could know for sure what would happen.

After all, two existences with incomprehensible powers were about to clash in the near future…and nobody could tell the final result of the battle, not even the Universe itself!
