Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!

Chapter 653 - No Matter What

With narrowed eyes, Asmodeus flew dangerously close to the child before him.

Demon was once again worried for his Master while Theo widened his eyes when he saw his Master's abrupt actions.

"Do you not know what caused that change?" Asmodeus did not care about the rest as his eyes were fixed on her.

Yvonne froze in place when the bird was right before her eyes.

Asmodeus's sharp beak was in contact with Yvonne's tiny nose which only proved that they were too close to each other at this very moment.

His words, however, reminded her that he seemed to know about her involvement in this mess.

"You knew!?" She widened her eyes in surprise, now not bothered with their close proximity.

The bird God let out a scoff which was enough to answer her query..

"I knew all along." He added with a disdainful sneer which Yvonne did not appreciate in the least bit.

"Why does everyone try to hide things from me!?" She grumbled out loud as it made no sense for her to keep her thoughts to herself when this God could hear them anyway.

Asmodeus was confused about what she was referring to as he had been away for too long and had no idea about what had taken place in her life until now.

Only when a major event was disrupted would he be intimated about it and he would appear to take a look at what it was.

The most recent event was the plague which had taken place as planned hence he had no reason to show up until now.

It was the King and everyone else's prayers that had attracted his attention today, explaining why he was around to catch the disrespectful action she had used for him and succeeded in making him appear before her.

Therefore, her words made no sense to him.

He knew nothing about Marquess Samed's betrayal and the King who had kept everything a secret only to reveal it on a grand occasion with a large audience.

As far as he knew, all major events which needed to take place had done so while he was away.

Glennise Brodie had fallen in love with the Prince just as she was supposed to.

The plague had arrived right on time.

Even though it had ended ahead of schedule, it had fulfilled the purpose for which it had been created.

The female lead's adoptive parents perished in the plague just as what was written in his script and soon she would face struggles until she finds her true origins and becomes the daughter of a nobleman, taking her rightful place in high society.

The following events after these were meant for the future which was the main plot of the script and had not yet taken place.

Therefore, nothing out of the ordinary had taken place which would require his attention.

Hence, he put aside the mumbling nonsense that the child had spilled just earlier and chose to focus on what was said between them before that.

"I witnessed how you messed up my plans, Child." He revealed to Yvonne of his presence on that fateful day in the past.

He had given her that push and brought her to the stream just as what was supposed to happen.

She saved him but instead of disappearing from his memory as she should have, she had left a lasting mark on the Prince's mind.

This caused him to remember who his true savior, a child with black hair and a rotten personality, was, instead of mistaking the gardener's kind daughter as what was supposed to happen.

Back then as well, Theo had been fretting that things were going awry but Asmodeus wasn't worried.

Thus looking at the child whose appearance had thrown a wrench to his initial plans, he did not show any signs of distress.

"What is supposed to happen will happen." He repeated the same words that he had used to comfort his disciple back then.

However, unlike Theo, Yvonne found no comfort in those words.

Instead, she took a step away from him as her jaw clenched just like her fists.

"What do you mean by that?" She questioned with a fierce aura surrounding her.

She was working hard to not get in the eyes of the main characters and live a peaceful life, away from the plot, and here he was, declaring that nothing would change.

Asmodeus did not realize what Yvonne's troubles were and disclosed what was on his mind.

"Those who are supposed to fall in love will fall in love." He shrugged at her.

She had disrupted his plans by letting the Prince recognize his true savior but even so, this would not stop what was about to take place.

All major events in the script would take place sooner or later so there was nothing for him to fear.

The confidence he had in his works was what made him make this proclamation with no doubt present in his mind.

Yvonne choked at this statement but also found relief swell in her heart.

She had already seen how Glennise Brodie had behaved when Aleena had displayed interest in the Prince.

Therefore, she could attest to seeing an obsessive love evident in that young Miss's eyes which strengthened what Asmodeus had just said.

This also meant that even if the Prince had not fallen in love with Hilda on their first meeting, he would sooner or later.

Yvonne's lips flattened when she realized that there was someone else who had also fallen in love with the female lead.

"I should just stay away from them altogether." She grimaced at this thought as she made up her mind on what needed to be done.

Asmodeus scoffed but did not reveal that his words had a different meaning to them as well.

'The events I had written… Will all take place no matter what…' He stared at her with no intention of revealing this matter to her.

He had brought her here to live her life as she wished in this new world, but never said that everything would go her way.

He had plans for her involvement in the events of this world.

Therefore, he remained silent, allowing her to mull over everything that was on her mind.

Yvonne shook her head to discard thoughts about the main characters once she had received the answer she was looking for.

She had managed to stay away from these characters until now and even in the future, would do her best to keep it that way.

However, there was something else that she needed to discuss with this Bird God who had appeared after throwing her into this world many years back.

"Were you short of inspiration while writing the script?" She interrogated with her head tilted to the side.

Asmodeus was wondering what she would say next but never had thought that she would use her next words to mock him once again.

"Watch what you say!" He warned her as his patience was limited.

Yvonne's shoulders flinched at his sharp words but she soon exhaled out loud before nodding her head.

Realizing that her words were misunderstood, she chose to reiterate her question.

"Can you explain why the King has a similar appearance to my father from my previous world?" She inquired, using the simplest of words that left no room for any misunderstandings.

Her words were direct and they stabbed his conscience right away.

Asmodeus choked for air when he heard those words and soon looked away from her.

Theo too was confused to hear these words as he was not involved during the making of the script.

It was a solo effort that the bird god had invested his time in for the wager made with the other gods.

Therefore, Theo only knew what was written in the script but not what had gone through Asmodeus's mind while he wrote it.

Yvonne was willing to wait as she needed an answer to her query.

None of the people she had seen were familiar faces from her past.

Even her current face varied from her appearance in the past.

The only exception was King Ophire who was a spitting image of her father, Harold St. Claire.

She had interrogated the man in her own method and found that while he had the same face, he did not possess Harold's memories.

Therefore, Yvonne wished to know why Asmodeus had made King Ophire's appearance similar to her father's in the past.
