The Urban Dao Child.

558 Final Contest.

The sect leaders from the five sects heard the news and they all decided to move and get to the spot of the trial. Sun Eckhart was the peak of Immortal Soul Realm and he could move through the sea of stars unimpeded. His speed was also faster than the spaceship.

He transmitted a message to the elder council and then he moved like a wisp. Along with him the other sect leaders also moved. They were all at the peak of the immortal soul realm.

Back on Titanica, the disciples, who were not allowed to take part in the trial were sitting on the ground discussing and speculating about what the trial could be. Could it be a battle royale or something else, like facing the ancestor’s younger spirit phantoms? There were a lot of things that they could only guess and it allowed them to kill time.

Yue Jing was probably the only person who was sitting in her position and focusing her mind on condensing a golden core by compressing her spiritual essence. The disciples of the sovereign sect were aware of her condition and had subconsciously formed a circle of protection around her.

Suddenly, a disciple from the Titan sect spoke up, “Fellow Daoists, the trial still have a few minutes to start, how about we all exchange a few moves and learn from each other?”

The idea of learning from each other was noble, while it included fighting it gave the teenagers an adrenaline rush. A lot of people came forward and they started to spar. Amil was also pushed into the fray as he was barely able to hold himself back. The sparring had no system it was a free for all. But for the sake of order, the number was limited to five at a time.

Someone who had a good command of his words (aka author) came up with a name, “Arena Of Pentagon.”

The disciples with business minds even became bankers and started a gamble. The atmosphere was very harmonious. However, in all this enjoyment, Yue Jing had become a secondary subject. This was the moment, that someone was waiting for. Yue Ming stood up from his place and slowly walked over to his sister’s side.

His eyes did not reveal any intention, and his breath was converged. He kept a close look on those who were standing ahead watching the excitement. As he closed in on Yue Jing his eyes changed, like a viper ready to bite his prey.

However, just as he was about to be successful in whatever, he had planned to do, Yue Jing spoke in a soft voice, “Big brother, do you really hate me so much?”

Her words made Yue Ming freeze, he thought his presence was detected. He frowned because despite speaking Yue Jing did not open her eyes. He was confused, not aware whether the girl really detected his presence or was it just her confronting a mental demon. He clenched his teeth and moved forward.

Suddenly, Yue Jing’s aura changed and it began to climb. Yue Ming held a pill in his hands and was about to throw it forward when he felt someone holding onto his shoulder. He froze, cold sweat covered his forehead, if his intentions were to be known by anyone, he will surely die very painfully.

With his mind in confusion he heard a calm voice, “Are you looking for your sister?”

The voice was deep and somber. Yue Ming forced himself to calm down and said, “Yes, it has been a few months since I last saw her.”

He replied in a calm manner and turned around, he acted as if everything was normal, but he did not expect it to be Cal, who spotted him. Cal was the strongest disciple among the group from Sovereign Sect. Yue Ming had to be cautious around him.

Cal asked, “You should come back after the trial is finished. Also, Yue Jing is immersed in cultivation, disturbing her will not do you good.”

It sounded like a piece of advice, but it was actually a naked threat. Yue Ming revealed a smile and said, “I do not intend to disturb her, just watch her from the side. I have never been away from her. So, it was kind of hard to stop myself from coming over. At first, I thought that the atmosphere between the five sects was tense but now it looks like I overthought. Thus, I came over.”

Cal nodded and patted his shoulder as he said, “Since your thoughts have been corrected you should go. The final trial is about to start, it would look better if you could be with your new sect members.”

Yue Ming understood that Cal was adamant about not letting him get near Yue Jing so he internally sighed and with a smile bade farewell. As he retreated, Shakti and Amil came over. The latter asked, “Was our guess correct?”

Cal nodded and said, “Unfortunately, yes.” he let out a sigh.

Shakti narrowed her gaze and said, “This guy really dared to attempt such a thing during this gathering? That pill was a poison that could have destroyed Yue Jing’s cultivation completely, that fate is worse than death. I will have his head.”

Just when she was about to move, Amil placed his hand on her shoulder and said, “Calm down, wait for Dao to come out. He will deal with it on his own.”

Shakti snorted and said, “I really don’t know why you people are so cautious?”

Cal sighed and said, “If someone from the overlord family was to die at the hands of an outsider that too on the basis of suspicion it will not only make things difficult for you, but for the one you support too. Your actions today might be compassionate, but they will make Yue Jing look bad in front of her family. Let me tell you the first thing they will say about her, Witch, who colluded with outsiders to kill her blood brother.”

His words deterred the girl as she let go of the hilt. Amil let out a sigh. They were unaware that their words were being heard by Yue Jing, she still had partial awareness of her surroundings. As she heard these words, the last strand of affection in her heart towards her family vanished. She only had one person who had ever truly cared about her, that person was Yang Dao.

All this time she had been holding back from taking the final steps and climbing higher in the world so that she does not end up undermining her brother, but since the other party did not take the relations into consideration she was not obligated either. With that thought, all the restraints and shackles in her mind vanished. The mental demon broke down and her golden core began to condense.

This was her final contest and she won a hard-earned victory. The condensation of the core made her aura climb. This was the most crucial point in her cultivation. Shakti said, “Everyone, protect Yue Jing.”

The disciples of the Sovereign sect heard these words, they were all aware that it was very hard and risky to breakthrough in front of so many unknown people and in such an unknown place. They all came forward to provide protection to her in their own ways.

Fang Yang cast multiple layers of defense arrays, while Noah cast a net of word art. The scene was as if they were protecting the sect master himself. This scene moved the other sect’s disciples, the one thing that the Sovereign sect excelled in while they did not was unity.

While Yue Jing was condensing her golden core, in outer space five figures appeared. They were the sect masters of the five sects. As soon as they appeared, behind them appeared the guardian elders of the groups.

Elder Cao said, “Sun, we should descend. The trial spirit has given its permission.”

The other sect masters were all informed about the same by the elders behind them. They all nodded and then descended to the ground almost teleporting. The disciples all saw their sect masters appearing and became alert.

They all nodded and said a common phrase, “Greet the sect master and seniors.”

The majesty of an Immortal Soul realm cultivator was such, that even if they were not someone from their own sect, the disciples were compelled to pay respect. Sun Eckhart noticed the situation of his disciples and asked, “What is going on here?”

Cal came forward and bowed as he said, “Junior Sister Yue Jing is breaking through to the golden core realm.”

Sun Eckhart nodded and said, “You all did well to protect her.”

The disciples all bowed in acceptance of the praise. At this moment, the voice of the trial spirit sounded, “The final contest will now begin.”

This one phrase made everyone fall silent. They all cast their gaze at the spirit energy screen in the void and found the five disciples to be standing up. They all heard Yang Dao say, “Okay, so what do we have to do now?”

The trial spirit said…
