The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 77 - He Lost It!

Looking down, Mia Chen's jaw tightened receiving Morris Liu's threats. She already knows that Morris Liu had this cold stone heart but she never expected that the line all of them crossed, including Lexi Yang would make her go even further the line as to attempt to take her own life. Lexi Yang? The ever proud and persistent b*tch that just won't go away would do that to herself? How laughable it was.

Raising her head to meet his icy stare of Morris Liu that could freeze anyone, the corner of her lips curled into a sweet smile. "Alright... but, brother Mo, even if you took all the blame of what happened to her and her family, you never really did anything for her."

Unlike Mia Chen's gentle smile and seemingly fragile frame, her words were too dauntless. If Lexi Yang fitted her blunt and harsh words for her unapproachable front, alas, Mia Chen's friendly countenance didn't suit her statement.

However, as expected, she got no response from Morris Liu as his expression didn't have a slight change. It's as if whatever she'd say wouldn't affect him no matter how precise they were; which irked her.

"I'll go, after all, I did inflict injuries from what she had done to me." Keeping her heart at bay, Mia Chen let a faint sigh before walking away from his office.

When Mia Chen left his office, Morris Liu's grip on this glass of whiskey slightly shook but calmed down after a second. Spinning his executive chair again and stopped at the floor to length window, Morris Liu downed the half-filled glass of whiskey in one go.

Getting the calmness he needed, Morris Liu scoffed in mockery. What Mia Chen said were exactly right. He had been watching on the sidelines while Lexi turned more and more crazy. He didn't even give her a heads up what's going on which led her to a trap on her last attempt to harm Mia Chen.

He had always decided on his own and now that everything said and done, he finally realized how foolish he was. It's not that he had the urge to make with Lexi or anything of the sort at the moment. Morris Liu was only bugged that Lexi was now hanging out with Ethan Lu.

He knew the guy more than being an infamous Casanova. After all, Ethan Lu wouldn't have too much audacity to be as blunt as he could be if Ethan Lu doesn't have the knack to back up his act and keep his sh*t together. Morris Liu admired him for that, hence, he trusted Ethan Lu more than anyone. Alas, he does not trust that he could keep her away from the scheming Lu Family members.

-----

Meanwhile, the certain someone that Morris Liu admired and thought to 'keep himself together' was losing it!

"This... is karma," Ethan mumbled lifelessly as he was attacked by a disgusting fluid that came out from Lexi's mouth. He could feel his soaked shirt touched his back which traumatized him to the core.

Earlier, to his desperate desire to escape her clutches, Lexi and Ethan wrestled for minutes that drained all his energy. However, even though he finally got out of bed, Lexi clung on him like a sloth. Not just that, a second after he stood, Lexi's back began moving heavily as if a mountain that was about to erupt. It only took another three seconds when Lexi vomited over his shoulder that trickled down on his back. After Lexi cast her final move, she shamelessly fell asleep!

"tsk tsk tsk, don't worry Mr. Initial task, when she woke up, she'll surely have a more horrified look on her face chu." Churu shook her head seeing the petrified Ethan Lu as she spat her supposed comforting comments. She could imagine Lexi's expression when she woke up and somehow, Churu prayed that Lexi wouldn't have to remember what happened tonight.

Turning her head to the floor to length window, Churu specifically stared at the night sky, she inquired. "Hey old hag, will you do that? I rarely pray -- you can even record and treat it as a family heirloom." However, as expected, none responded.

Ethan carefully put Lexi down on the bed, sacrificing his precious body from the disturbing liquid sticking on his back. When she settled down, Ethan didn't waste a second and sprinted on the presidential suite's grandiose bathroom as if his life depended on it.

"Ahhh! This is frustrating! That bully, ahhh!" Ethan grumbled in frustration as he immediately took off his shirt and threw it in the trash as if it was the most disgusting thing in the world. If he could bathe in alcohol that kills 99.9% of germs, viruses, and bacteria he would that very instant!

Jumping in the shower, Ethan Lu gradually relaxed and his boiling temperature from his experience with Lexi's temptations cool down. Heaving a sigh of relief as the water ran from his head to toe, Ethan Lu leaned his palm on the marbled wall in front of him.

This day was akin to a roller coaster ride. First, he said his goodbyes and thanks to her parents for letting him stay at their residence. Then, the foreboding loneliness when he was on the private villa that led him to waste his night away. Not being satisfied with the plan he thought would work, he pestered Morris Liu. Who would have thought that at the end of the day, he still ended up with Lexi; albeit, he literally became her chaperone.

As he recalled his chaotic yet absurdly fun day, Lexi's gentle gaze with a mischievous grin flashed across his mind.

"Love you…"

Ethan gasped in disbelief as Lexi's unintentional torture of being touchy began to hunt him. Looking down on his little brother that was slowly rising from its slumber, Ethan warned in exasperation.

"Hey, don't you dare -- she's a friend! Damn it!"
