The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 542 - Where's My Son?

Even without words being said, Nico Zhuang got his answer. It might not show on the surface, but it surprised him. Andy Chang and Avah Tong being sisters? Never in his uncreative imagination had he thought of this connection.

"If this is your sister, her name now is Avah Tong." Slowly, Nico Zhuang retracted the phone away from her and placed it inside his suit pocket. He gazed over her speechless front as if she was processing and arranging her series of questions.

"She's now a trainee in AL entertainment — you know who owned that, right?" Nico Zhuang cleared his throat as he gave her some of Avah Tong's information.

He pondered and fished out the details that weren't too sensitive to her. "Miss Fan made her run an errand for the things Madam needed from the agency." Though this excuse might sound so absurd, Nico Zhuang had already thought of an escape answer if she ever questioned him. Fortunately, she didn't.

"Avah Tong..." Andy Chang whispered the unfamiliar name her sister used. Part of her was relieved that her sister was trying her luck in the entertainment industry, and she was even under AL agency's management.

Andy Chang recalled how Lexi dealt with Hannah Gan's scandal back then, which she took part in one way or another. Therefore, knowing that her sister was working under good people, she could sigh in relief.

At the very least, her sister didn't end up in the industry where Lexi saved Andy Chang from.

On the other hand, Andy Chang was a bit bitter. She often tried to search for her sister and even go to social media hoping to find her, but to no avail.

Who would have thought that fate would make a move and let them see each other again? Not just that but also, the two of them were working under the same person yet, in a different field.

"I'm so glad…" Even before Andy Chang could realize, tears trickled down from the corner of her eyes. Her voice cracked, nearly choked on her remark.

Regardless of the unprecedented events and the realization of how the world could be huge yet small at the same time, her relief of knowing her sister was doing well triumphed in her heart.

She wanted to stop crying, stop embarrassing herself in front of Nico Zhuang. But her tears wouldn't stop. It continued to fall from her eyes and she continuously wiped them away.

"Here," after some time, Nico Zhuang offered his handkerchief. She had been wiping her tears using her hands, smudging her light makeup. Meaning, her hand wasn't helping her and only making her look like a mess.

Also, he didn't want anyone to think that he's a heartless person for not trying to comfort her. He might be bad at it but, well, at least she wouldn't look like a complete mess.

"Thank you," not thinking straight, Andy Chang accepted the handkerchief without a second hesitation. Without further ado, she spread it and wiped her tears.

Despite the built-up watery snot inside her nose, she got a whiffed of the strong musky scent of his handkerchief which snapped her to realization. She lowered the small cloth down and peeked at him, "I'm sorry," she muffledly apologized before she bit her bottom lip.

"I understand," Nico Zhuang stretched his lips a little up as he nodded his head.

Now that made sense why they had no useful information about Avah Tong. Apparently, her name Avah Tong was not her real name, and she was an ambitious country bumpkin who wanted to crawl up in the upper echelon.

No wonder she stomached being a sugar baby.

Until now, Nico Zhuang felt bad to his 'former' master for being cuckold by his uncle and her. Avah Tong was definitely not a woman worthy in his eyes. Regardless if she was Andy Chang's sister or not, there's only a small possibility to change how Nico Zhuang sees that woman.

"What is she doing there?" Avah Tong bit her thumb nail to calm herself down. The woman she saw inside Beauty DR was her sister Andrea, no doubt.

"Of all places she can work, why there?" She grumbled, making the driver of the cab glance at her via the rear mirror. "Did that b*tch also know? No, no, I used a different identity — it's impossible she'd know." Avah Tong ignored the odd look from the driver as she continued to murmur.

Although she wanted to believe that Lexi must have set this up, however, her rational thinking was against it. It was indeed impossible because she did everything to erase her poor life behind her. Plus, with the help of Dennis Lu, they manipulated her history that was stated in Ethan Lu's intelligence.

"She didn't see me clearly, right?" She wondered.

Andy Chang and Avah Tong had quite a distance in between. Hence, even if Andy Chang had a glimpse of her, if she asked the front desk, Andy Chang's assumptions would definitely dwindle.

Just then, Avah Tong flinched when she heard her phone ring. Checking who it might be, her brows knitted seeing an unknown number. Since Avah Tong learned her lesson, she declined the incoming call.

Who knows who it might be? After all, she was surrounded with crazy people that could end her life… she could do that too but, with no solid backing, her efforts and knowledge would all go to waste. Therefore, unless it was Dennis Lu or Lexi or her assistant, she didn't need to receive an unknown call.

When she declined, her phone rang again, but this time, it ended even before she could press the red button. Right after, a notification popped on top of her screen from that unknown number. It says: "I know where you can find him."

The message was vague yet, for some reason, her heart pounded as her instinct automatically thought about her missing child. Without a second hesitation, Avah Tong called the person's back which was answered after five rings.

"Where's my son?"
