The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 502 - The System's History: The Promise End IV

"Huh?" Arching his brows, Lucifer crossed his arms under his chest. "I'm picking up —"

"No! I won't let you bring her to that damn place!" Assuming that he was there out of boredom, Churu posed a protective stance on Tora's lifeless figure.

Her emotion had already taken over her head, clouding her mind for rational deductions. All she thought at that moment was they were trying to punish Tora for her misconduct. Thus, she wouldn't let them even if she has to defy more rules.

"Interesting..." Nodding in acknowledgment, Lucifer scrutinized the crying fallen angel in amusement before he glanced at Yael's hostile countenance. "I must thank you for doing your job halfheartedly. I wouldn't be able to witness this interesting circus in this world! How refreshing!" He chuckled as he turned his gleeful front back to Churu.

"That human..." Lucifer pointed at Tora's figure. "You took all her sins — actually, you just devoured everyone's sins." His lips and eyes curled upward because all he could see was the darkest aura that was shrouding Churu.

"Thus, that human's soul and its punishment were absolved. Her soul was wandering somewhere, I am lazy to track. Aya! Our Father dear is truly biased and at the same time, unbiased. What a complicated being." Lucifer dawdled as he shook his head in disbelief while Churu and Yael processed his words.

"Is this what they call mercy?" Lucifer rubbed his chin as he pondered the purpose of why he was now the devil that managed hell and not someone else.

After a beat, Yael slowly moved her gaze to Churu before her eyes widened and her heart sank. How could their Father do this? He permitted her to settle Churu and make her voluntarily return for a lesser crime.

However, her most dreading fear still happened. The aura that around Churu, it was the same hue and vibe that was in hell. The prophecy, Alvah's name, had finally shown its purpose: SIN.

In another perspective, Yael would have thought that this would be the Father's mercy to this world. However, what about Churu?

For taking this world's vile nature, she would have to take responsibility for everything — whether it was Tora's or someone else, she would have to pay for this world's sins for it to be saved.

"Stop sulking, Alvah. Come to my manor — it will be a blast to have you in!" Ignoring whatever these two felt, or about the whole situation, Lucifer stretched his lips from ear to ear as he invited Churu as if he was just inviting her to a party.

"Lucy, what do you mean?" Still trying to wrap his words around her head, Churu muttered.

"Huh?" Tilting his head to the side, Lucifer contemplated for a second before he answered. "You, me, down there. Why did you think I'd crawl my way out here if not to fetch a new member to my crew, little demon?" With that said note, a chilling sneer formed on his lips as a red glint played beneath his eyes while pointing at the ground below.

"Little demon..." Repeating on what he addressed her, Churu whispered in disbelief. She knew that her crimes were not enough for her to be a demon.

However, with the thought that Tora's sins were absolved, it somehow calmed her heart. Still, it was a surprise for her to be acknowledged as a little demon because Lucifer scoffed at the angels most of the time.

He was only lenient to beings with his kind. Well, at the very least, he was more bearable to be with if you're one of the residents in his place called Hell.

"Don't worry, I'll treat you with extra care." Even though Lucifer sweetly uttered his words matched with a sweet smile, one must know that his meaning of care was a complete opposite of how others show their concern.

"Lucy… are you sure Tora's soul will be fine?" Churu disregarded everything, even the fact that she was now a demon without knowing the whole reason. Because what's important to her was Tora's soul. After all, she could not feel that it was inside her anymore, nor could she sense that it was just around.

"Uh-huh,"

"How…? You're not lying, aren't you?" Churu clarified, but her pure intention offended Lucifer. She saw him scoffed as he frowned with his right brow arched.

He said, "Oh-ho!" after he snapped his tongue in disbelief. "Little demon, you might not know this but one thing this being despised the most are liars, thus, I don't — I never lie. That human's soul shot up somewhere far away when you gave all your purities to her, causing that blinding explosion. Fortunately, I have exceptional eyesight, unlike you pampered cherubims."

Indeed, Churu was still considered young if it based on Lucifer and Yael's age. Therefore, unlike the two of them, Churu didn't know how to control their powers as angels and demons. The reason she didn't know that she forcefully extracted Tora's soul.

Also, since she doesn't have full control of her powers, Churu accidentally made it fly somewhere far, far away. Well, it was not like Lucifer was interested in a pure soul or any added work. That's why he didn't stop it, even if he saw what happened.

"Is that so?" Relieved to hear that Tora's soul was left unscathed, Churu heaved a sigh of relief. Little did she know, after that day, every millisecond of her life would be nothing but utter torture which led her to her appearance to this very day.

[Heavenly Realm: Present Time]

After Churu followed Lucifer at that time, her host's body still remained alive for a few months and died due to natural causes. After all, what they left on Churu's human host was just a fragment of Yael's hair. In that case, it wouldn't cause another ruckus if she suddenly disappeared.

Even so, Churu would sometimes eavesdrop what happened in the human world; particularly at the country, Aki was leading. She heard that after he ascended the throne, a decree about a woman must remain at home and could never study or learn was ordered. Yet, Churu didn't probe further and let the humans with their business while she does hers.

"You do know that that human and the reincarnation of that male human finally live in the same timeline, right?" For a long time that Yael remained quiet as per Churu's request, she finally broke her silence as the time was ticking. "I wonder if how many years have passed in the human world while you sulk here." Arching her brows, Yael shook her head because if Churu only listened to her in the beginning, she wouldn't be sulking there anymore.
