The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 365 - Yes, He Is Lou's Child

Although the doorbell rang for the second time, Lexi and Ethan Lu were immobilized while their stunned eyes were glued onto Victoria Tang's meek smile. In their guest's eyes, she seemed to expect this kind of reaction from everyone if they knew who was the father of his little boy. However, she was certain that he was.

[DING DONG!]

The third time the doorbell rang, both Lexi and Ethan Lu were brought back to reality as their brows furrowed in dismay at the same time. Receiving the shock of their life that the kid just addressed Ethan Lu as his 'daddy', but, most of all, the truth came as a shock as well.

"Yes, he is Lou's child." Slowly, Victoria Tang repeated with a meek smile. At this time, her little one was already yawning and rested his little head onto his mother's lap while rubbing his adorable thin eyes.

"Mommy… Vin is sleepy— where's Daddy?" In between his yawning, Vincent Tang, the little guy spoke in a sleepy and exhausted tone. In just a minute, the little boy fell asleep under his mother's gentle caress on his head without hearing Victoria Tang's response.

"I'm sorry, my baby." Whispering, Victoria Tang's eyes softened laced with a slight bitterness. The moment she saw Lexi, Victoria Tang already guessed that she came at the wrong time. Hence, there was a conflicted emotion circled around her heart for this failed attempt to see the father of her child.

"Wait— don't speak a word or anything! I need to get the pizza!" Raising his hand, gesturing to his good friend Victoria Tang to hold back all of the information she had about this news, Ethan Lu jolted from his seat.

Like a bolt of lightning, Ethan Lu hurriedly went to receive the pizza delivered by a seemingly normal delivery man. After receiving the food they had ordered, Ethan Lu sprinted towards the kitchen to get the small container of sugar and saucer plates.

Everything happened within a minute as Lexi and Victoria Tang could only see a flash running around before Ethan Lu went back to the living area bringing the three boxes of pizza, a small porcelain container of sugar, saucer plate and bottled waters. If they didn't know him and his occupation, both ladies would think that Ethan Lu was a former waiter for being able to carry everything all by himself.

"So, where were we? Vic, you can start." Plopping down beside Lexi, Ethan Lu panted as if he had just ran a marathon. Looking at the woman across him, Ethan Lu nodded in approval so she could start this interesting piece of gossip he was about to hear.

Shaking her head, Lexi sensed the excitement and her partner's interest between Victoria Tang and his cousin Louis Lu. In her mind, Lexi was somewhat surprised and not at the same time for Ethan Lu to be oblivious about this thing.

Opening one of the pizza boxes, Lexi cast Victoria Tang a glance as she placed a slice of pizza on one of the plates and served it to their guest before she served herself with another slice.

"You know, you can stay here for the night. Hadn't you just arrived in the country?" Since Victoria Tang wasn't saying anything or rather, she didn't know where to start, Lexi offered and asked afterward. Although the answer was obvious as both the mother and son duo had luggage with them, Lexi still asked just for her to be a little at ease.

"No, it's fine. We already booked a hotel room and—"

"I insist." Smiling, Lexi insisted with a reassuring tone. "Your little one is tired and the nearest hotel is an hour drive— for your child, stay for the night. What's his name again?" Perhaps, it was because Lexi would soon become an official mother that she was concerned for Vincent Tang.

After all, it was rather late and the two were surely exhausted from the long flight. Moreover, for Victoria Tang to try her luck to meet Louis Lu at this moment, part of Lexi tells her it has a deeper reason behind it. Therefore, since Ethan Lu was the only person that could easily reach Louis Lu any time he wanted, it was best to stay in their place for a while.

"Vin, Vincent Tang. Thank you and I'm sorry to bother you." Bowing to show her courtesy, Victoria Tang was moved by Lexi's kindness. Unconsciously, her gaze moved to Ethan Lu and deep down, she could not wrap her head around on how this playboy was able to capture such kind and rare deity.

"Uh?" Tilting his head to the side, Ethan Lu furrowed his brows as he was eagerly waiting for a good story on when the two became an item and how did they have a child together.

"My love, can you please help us? Little Vin needs to sleep in a proper sleeping position." Ignoring the obvious disappointment to Ethan Lu's dismayed front, as if Lyrick Jiang's soul manifested in him, Lexi asked.

With that said note, Lexi and Ethan Lu prepared the guest room and then he carried the little boy to the room. After everything was settled, Lexi and Ethan Lu watched Victoria Tang on the side as she was done changing her son's clothes into comfortable ones.

In their eyes, Victoria Tang genuinely loved and cared for her son. The look in her eyes, no one would be able to fake it, which slightly moved the two expecting parents. Carrying the little guy and caring for him, Lexi and Ethan Lu might not verbally say it now but it excited them to see their own little versions.

"It's a shame that my gamble tonight is a failure." Without breaking her gaze while she ran her fingers through her son's hair, Victoria Tang mumbled in disappointment. "I thought that if I met him tonight, there was a higher probability that I'd get to see and discuss things about our child since it's impossible to know where he would be in the day." She added before a mocking scoff escaped her mouth.
