The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 322 - Make Her Stop

Meanwhile…

"Let me go! How dare he do that to my goddess?! Grand—!" As the bodyguards dragged the retaliating little Evelyn Lu to god knows where, she grew more violent and her shouts became louder. Alas, that all stopped when Edward Lu's bodyguard that was carrying her on his broad shoulders along with Edward Lu himself reached the rooftop of the hotel.

The bodyguard harshly threw her down that made her land on her bum. "Ouch! You…!" The sudden crash made her squeal in pain which made her throw a glaring dagger to the stoic bodyguard's face of their family.

"Little Eve, your brother Tan is now the headmaster, so, you shouldn't be like that." Looking down on his aggravate granddaughter, Edward Lu could not help but sigh. The very reason why he came back to the function hall was due to this troublemaker that lacked intelligence growth. After all, when she got the guts to pay respect to him, she dared to sneak out back to the event hall again.

"Grandpa! Why did you bring me here?! I know he's now the master of the family but he's still my older brother tan and he dared molest my goddess because he gained power! The nerve!" By the looks of it, Evelyn Lu didn't know what emotion should come first as she was puzzled that her grandfather brought her to the rooftop and angry at the same time because of Ethan Lu.

"*sigh* My little pretty granddaughter, why do you ask? I will send you back home— Don't forget what Ethan did just for you and your mother to have this much freedom." Letting out another heavy sigh, Edward Lu was rather soft towards the hard-headed Evelyn Lu as his words were harsh but his tone was rather gentle as if he was sorry to send her back home.

"What?" Upon hearing his last remarks, Evelyn Lu's heart sank and her complexion turned pale. Of course, he could never forget what her kindest cousin did just to protect her mother and her from those old geezers from the Lu family. Alas, since she heard that Ethan Lu would now be the headmaster, her morale came back and snuck out to greet him… not just that but also to meet her male idol, Elliot Gong.

Just then, a loud rotor noise soon reached her ears and the night breeze drastically turned stronger— causing her short hair to tangle in the wind. Turning to see the huge helicopter, she chewed her lower lip as the corner of her eyes formed large liquid to pool in her eyes.

"Waah! Grandpa! I don't want to go back just yet!" In an instant, Evelyn Lu jolted from her position and held tightly to her grandfather while bawling her eyes out. "I don't want to go! Mom will kill me if she knew I didn't go with my friends on that trip and went here instead! Waah!"

Soon, even snot went up and down from her nose along with the downpour of her slowly growing puffy eyes. She wiped some onto Edward Lu's shoulder as her grip tightened even more on her grandfather's shoulder. Regardless of this indecency, Edward Lu could not be bothered as his shoulder moved down in distress. This shows that his fondness towards this innocent yet reckless little woman who always acts like a little girl was rather special.

"Little Eve, you can't stay any longer. You must go." Lightly shaking his head, Edward Lu reluctantly muttered along with another sigh. Although the background noise of the rotor sound from the chopper was loud, Evelyn Lu still heard her grandfather's refusal— loud and clear.

"No!" Remaining adamant Evelyn Lu's cries grew louder as she shook her head sideways along with her small figure.

Just then, a tall figure approached them without a sound. Even the guards behind didn't notice Louis Lu's footsteps as it was concealed by the loud motor sound of the helicopter. "Grandfather," He called out to get the few people on the rooftop to notice him.

Turning to see the voice's direction, Edward Lu's brows furrowed upon seeing the ever stoic countenance of Louis Lu. Oh the other hand, when Evelyn Lu heard another of her favorite cousins, her pair of eyes lit up as she instantly let go of her grandfather and glided towards Louis Lu's shoulder.

"Brother Lou~! Help me, please! I don't want to go home." Hiccuping due to her excessive melodramatic cries, Evelyn Lu sought help to the most reliable and trusted cousin she was fortunate to have.

"Lou, why are you up here? You, little girl, you go back here— you little!" After solemnly asking Louis Lu's sudden intrusion on the rooftop, Edward Lu ground his teeth by his granddaughter's antics. He knew her very well and she would seek help from everyone she could find and pretend as if she was receiving an injustice.

"I came here because I heard Eve's cry from my room— it's annoying. Make her stop." Without blinking an eye, Louis Lu blankly responded as it was indeed true that he heard his cousin's cry when the elevator lift he was riding came up, he heard the familiar voice of Evelyn Lu that was on the closing elevator next to his.

He should be fine when her voice faded along with the elevator door closes. However, no matter how he thought he should be fine, Evelyn Lu's cries kept ringing inside his head and he wouldn't have a peaceful night without personally seeing his cousin stop from crying. Therefore, he watched where the elevator she was on stopped and then followed suit.

"Gah! Can't you see I'm trying?! Men, drag her inside the chopper and make sure she would return safe— don't tell her mother about it." Frustrated at the oozing oddness of Louis Lu whenever he would show himself to him, Edward Lu ordered his men to force Evelyn Lu to go home. How could this Evelyn Lu torture him like this? Plus, Louis Lu's appearance to add more stress to his situation. Was he being punished for all the misconduct he did in the past?

"Grandpa, please let her stay. I'll look after her for a while and send her home when she's ready." After hearing the orders of his grandfather, Louis Lu frowned because that wasn't what he wanted. Hence, he took the matters in his own hands to make her stop so she would not annoy his sleep later.

"Really? Brother Lou, you will do that for me? Grandpa, let me stay with brother Lou!" Evelyn Lu suddenly stopped crying as her eyes sparkled as if Louis Lu was a deity incarnate. Meanwhile, Edward Lu frowned as well as he cast his granddaughter who had a complete change of attitude.

"*sigh* Now that I am no longer the family head, these kids were pushing their luck!" Humphing, Edward Lu then turned towards the exit of the rooftop and slowly took his leave while being supported by his cane. Well, although he looked displeased, inside his heart, he wasn't, really. In contrast, he liked to see his granddaughter more often as he believed Ethan Lu would protect her in any way he could. Also, since Louis Lu gave his word, his heart felt more at ease because Louis Lu didn't want to take the blame if something happened to her.

As Evelyn Lu saw her grandfather retreat just like that, a large grin formed on the side of her lips as she was saved from the wrath of her mother and she could avenge her ship from being shaken by her own cousin.

"Don't scheme. Let's go." Casting the demonic smile to Evelyn Lu, Louis Lu didn't care as she began to take strides towards the exit of the rooftop. Witnessing her stopping from crying was enough as a peaceful sleep without being haunted by Evelyn Lu's cries was better than having another responsibility. Well, he was a workaholic after all and having another job to look after her was a piece of cake.

Surely, Louis Lu's thought process was rather weird and simple unlike what conclusion he left to Edward Lu by this sudden interruption. The only person who didn't give any thought about what Louis Lu's plans might be was Evelyn Lu because she was cooking up plans to avenge her goddess idol.

'Hehehe, please my baby EliXi, your number one fan is coming to save you from that monster!' She evilly giggled as a determined glint flashed across her eyes. Little did she know, Evelyn Lu would wish to have gone home as her number one rival on her delusional ship was coming at her— head-on.
