The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 229 - I Can't Let It Pass, Sorry.

Churu knitted her brows upon receiving Lexi's word. Turning her head behind her, Churu scrutinized Lexi's poker yet cold freezing eyes. She had known all of Lexi's misconduct before she became her system's guide. However, Churu hasn't witnessed it with her own eyes. Therefore, seeing this Lexi before her, something within her sparked— it was more or less the same attraction she had with danger.

"Ohh, okay…" Nodding in understanding, Churu flew on the side as her eyes were sparkling with excitement. Although she knew she shouldn't be excited as Lexi might be put in danger, alas, her emotions right now were overflowing. At least, for once, she could see this side of Lexi before she departs.

"Huh, you don't have to deny it. Acting all clean yet chase a man like a dog." Sneering, Gael Zhang unfiltered his words as he insulted her upfront. Yet, Lexi remained unfazed as she already admitted that mistake.

"Tsk tsk… we don't have to complicate things you know. We can always talk about this privately." Gael Zhang scoffed as he took a step forward to her— reducing the gap between them. He sounded benevolent yet his words could also be perceived as a warning saying 'come with me so we won't have any problem.'

Lexi quickly glanced down when he took a step forward and didn't step back. "Mr. Zhang, aren't we talking in private now? Also, please don't take another step forward— I don't like it when someone uninvited crosses my personal space."

Lexi observed Gael Zhang's drowsy yet malicious eyes that she had never seen him bore before. Surely, he did consume a lot more drinks earlier while pretending and concealing his displeasure about earlier. Therefore, his natural behavior was slowly revealing itself which didn't surprise Lexi. After all, she had expected this much behavior from someone like him.

"What will you do then?" Raising his brows, Gael Zhang smirked as he took another step forward. At this rate, Lexi eventually had a sniff of his scent as he reeked in alcohol.

'Did he shower with wine?' Lexi looked at him from head to toe in disdain as she could not believe he really dared to take another step forward to her. What more? She got a whiff of his unpleasant odor that wasn't even comparable to Ethan Lu's sweats!

When Gael Zhang raised his left arm and attempted to reach her, Lexi swiftly slapped it with great force. That very instant, Gael Zhang felt a striking pain on the back of his tossed hand— making it numb and throbb at the same time.

"What the— what's wrong with you?!" Glaring daggers at her while gritting his teeth, Gael Zhang retrieved his pulsating hand and massaged it using his other hand. After a second, Gael Zhang took a large step as he raised his hand, taking an offense.

At the same time, Lexi also took a step forward and without further ado, she placed both her palm on his shoulder— the other hand still holding her purse and then lifted her knee— directly landing on his precious jewel.

Time stopped for Gael Zhang as the national anthem of the birds rang inside his head. His knees slowly grumbled together and bit by bit his strength and his soul escaped from his whole being. For a man, it was the most painful experience as that area was off-limits and one of their weakest points.

Soon, Gael Zhang curbed into a ball on the carpeted floor while holding his fallen comrade. On the other hand, Lexi felt no remorse as she coldly watched the man agonized on the floor.

She knew that hitting a man's precious jewel was one of the most painful assaults a man could receive, hence, she always aimed for that part while they are off guard to shut up someone she didn't like or to anyone who tried to harass her. Moreover, despite that she already recognized her past actions, she would not allow someone like Gael Zhang to use it to belittle her and think that it was her weakness.

"Mr. Zhang, we could be great friends if not for what you said and tried to do." Still unsatisfied with what she had done, Lexi stepped her right heel on the back of his head and put pressure on it. Now, Gael Zhang was in a position as if kowtowing to her while still holding on to the thing in between his thigh.

"Be thankful that my patience improved or else, my stiletto would have long been dug into your head. But, for the sake of our short friendship and colleagues, I will let this slide. Keep your distance away from me and never approach me if not necessary— I only warn once." Lexi slightly twisted her stiletto while watching the force she used before she retracted it from his head.

"I hope I made myself very clear to you." With those last remarks, Lexi proceeded to continue her strides without anyone blocking her— leaving Gael Zhang with that same position. Unbeknownst to her, aside from the excruciating pain on his groin, Gael Zhang was more turned on by her feistiness. Now, the urge to tame this woman slowly grew in his twisted kinks.

"Wow~! Lexi admit it, you almost caused him to bleed didn't you?" Fangirling, Churu flew onto Lexi's side as she looked at her with glittering eyes. At some point, Churu smelled the violence seeping from Lexi's being as if she would turn really aggressive before the scent faded in an instant.

'I told you, Sissy. I faced tons of lawsuits because of my violent ways— why do you think my parents assumed I hurt Ethan before?' Rolling her eyes, Lexi slightly shook her head as a complex smirk formed on the side of her lips. Well, as much as she wanted to avoid these kind of circumstances, people like Che Diayu and Gael Zhang just wouldn't keep their craziness within them and drag her with it— not knowing she could be really crazy in an obnoxious degree.

"I should really hold my temper much longer…" Lexi murmured as she exited the establishment to its parking space. To her surprise, Lexi slightly jolted when she saw Ethan Lu in the side of her eyes.

Stopping in her tracks as she turned on the side, there, Ethan Lu was leaning on the wall with an unreadable front on his face while staring at her as if examining her.

"You're here?" Raising her brows, Lexi's voice panicked. In her mind, Ethan Lu might or might not have witnessed what she had done to Gael Zhang. Her mind worked triple time more than usual and knowing that Ethan Lu didn't go inside and confront Gael Zhang, she was somewhat relieved with the thought that he must have not have seen it since he was just there; languidly waiting with his phone on his hand.

"Yeah, I thought you were taking too long so I wanted to check if Rika kidnapped you or not." Slowly nodding, Ethan Lu briefly explained with a flat tone.

Just then, the screen of his phone lit up— revealing an incoming call with a contact name: Assistant Jiang. Ethan Lu remained quiet as he unhurriedly answered his vibrating phone while Lexi's brows furrowed by the unusual aura Ethan Lu emanated.

"Mhmm…" Ethan Lu hummed a tune as he nodded to whatever Lyrick Jiang was saying on the other end of the line. After several seconds of listening, Ethan Lu raised his gaze to her before he uttered, "Arrange me an appointment to that agency first thing in the morning— I want to personally handle it."

Ethan Lu ended the short call after his last statement that made Lexi quite puzzled. He then straightened his stance and slid his phone and hand inside his pocket while locking eyes with her beautiful pair of eyes.

"I saw what happened— I was about to come to the scene but seeing you already handled him, I decided not to." As usual, Ethan Lu came clean as he honestly summarized his side of the story. God knows he almost lost control the instant he had a glimpse of the person Gael Zhang was blocking.

However, everything happened so fast that even before he could sprint towards them, Lexi already struck him. Therefore, Ethan Lu decided to retreat upon seeing the glint that flashed across Lexi's eyes when she stepped her foot on the back of Gael Zhang's head. Regardless, he was still unhappy and dissatisfied.

"Still…" Ethan Lu's eyes turned darker as he drew closer to her. Stopping in front of her, his eyes wandered onto the details of her work of art facial features as he gently tapped the apex of her pointy nose by his index finger. "I can't let it pass, sorry. He crossed my bottomline— I can't be that kind." Although his gaze had a touch of gentleness, it also bore vileness at the same time.
