The Resplendent Farming Apothecary

Chapter 150

Wake Up

Suddenly, when she looked elsewhere, her eyes caught sight of clear dew on the lotus leaf next to the little red lotus. She walked over, gently picked up the lotus leaf, and drank all the dew in one breath. The dew was sweet, exuding the fragrance of a lotus leaf, making Gu Ye lick her lips to savor the taste. Looking closely at the little red lotus, there was another crystal clear dew on the lotus petals.

This dewdrop enhanced the medicinal effect and promoted the power of the medicine she ingested. Gu Ye quickly collected it with a jade bottle. She shuffled to her laboratory, sorting through the few potions she had. She still had two bottles of antipyretic medicine.

In her previous life, the physical quality of human beings rose to a certain height, and some minor illnesses and pains also disappeared. These common potions were made in the early days of her troubled times. Fortunately, she kept them in her space and they never expired. It seemed that after was cured of her illness, she must prepare some common medicines.

After drinking the potion, Gu Ye was afraid that her master would wake up and see that she was unresponsive, so she quickly changed into a set of underwear and went out. Just as she wrapped herself with the quilt, her master was alerted. The moment he lowered his head, he met his disciple’s seemingly guilty gaze. He said in surprise, “Good disciple, you’re awake. Are you thirsty? Do you want to drink some water?”

”Brother Zheng, what’s wrong with Ye’er?” Just as there was movement in the room, Gu Xiao’s anxious voice sounded outside the door. Gu Ye turned her head and saw her grandfather who pushed the door in, with a thick layer of snow on his body. Apparently, he’s been waiting outside for news.

”Buddha bless, she finally woke up.” Sage Apothecary covered his mouth and took a breath. Afterward, he felt his disciple’s forehead. He was delighted to find that her fever had almost subsided.

Gu Xiao couldn’t care less about brushing the snow off his body. He strode to the edge of the bed in just three steps. In fear that the cold air on his body would exacerbate his granddaughter’s illness, he stretched out his hand and retracted it again, and then asked with concern, “Ye’er, are you feeling any discomfort?”

”My throat is a little dry. I want to drink some water.” Gu Ye saw her grandpa’s bloodshot eyes, unkempt beard and hair, and almost cried.

Sage Apothecary poured out a glass of warm clear water and awkwardly fed his disciple. Seeing that Gu Ye’s spirit was much better, he grinned and said, “Your unscrupulous Uncle-Master said, as long as you wake up tonight, you will be out of danger. You kid, you have stirred your Master and Grandpa’s old bones enough.”

”I’m sorry for worrying you, Master and Grandpa.” Gu Ye was very moved when she saw the tired eyes of the two old men.

”If you’re sorry about worrying us, be obedient and take your medicine and get well sooner.” Sage Apothecary deliberately expressed his anger and glared at her. However, the way he wiped the water stains on the side of his disciple’s mouth was incomparably gentle.

Gu Ye grinned at him, then turned to Gu Xiao, whose coat was wet by the melted snow. She said, “Grandpa, I’m fine now. Go and change your clothes, and then let someone cook a bowl of ginger soup to warm your body. Lest I get better and you fall ill instead.”

Sage Apothecary looked back at Gu Xiao and said, “Didn’t I let you rest? Why did you stand outside in the snow? Look at how sensible your granddaughter is. She is so ill yet still worrying about you.”

Seeing that his granddaughter’s complexion was much better, and her fever had subsided, Gu Xiao completely breathed a sigh of relief. He turned around and rubbed his eyes before laughing. “I’m going to go change my clothes. Ye’er, take a good rest and listen to your master and Uncle-Master. Tomorrow morning, I will come to see you again.”

”Grandpa, have a good rest, and you will have the energy to talk with me tomorrow.” Her illness caused so many people to worry. This made Gu Ye a little guilty. If she hadn’t been afraid of exposing her space and had gotten her body in shape earlier, there wouldn’t have been so many problems. She secretly vowed that she must exercise properly and condition her physique in the future. She would never let her family worry about her again.

After drinking half a bowl of water, Gu Ye fell asleep again. In the second half of the night, when Medical Sage came to change shifts, he was relieved to hear that she had woken up. He checked the pulse of the little girl again and found that her body had undergone tremendous changes. If, in the evening, the little girl’s body was like a rotten and decaying wood, now it was as if it had gained a new life, glowing with vigorous vitality.

”Tell me, have you given your apprentice another dose of medicine?” The little girl was no longer in danger, and Medical Sage was in the mood to quarrel with his junior brother again.

Sage Apothecary glared at him. In fear that they would disturb his disciple, he lowered his voice and said, “What nonsense are you talking about? Am I such a dishonest person? This is related to my disciple’s life. How dare I give her medicine?”

”Strange, so strange! Her body seems like it has absorbed some kind of panacea, and even the gaps in her early years have been filled for the most part. What exactly is going on? This is so abnormal.” Medical Sage was puzzled and muttered to himself in confusion.

Sage Apothecary was worried: “Senior Brother, is the change in my disciple’s condition a good thing or a bad one?”

”Nonsense, of course it’s a good thing! With the current physical condition of the little girl, she can recover in at least a month or as long as half a year. By then, I will return your little apprentice alive and kicking!” Medical Sage was full of confidence.

Sage Apothecary glared at him fiercely and said, “Since it’s a good thing, why are you acting so mysteriously? I thought my precious disciple’s condition had worsened!”

”All right, you go to sleep! After studying medicine for so many years, you can’t even tell whether your apprentice’s body is healthy or not. She almost died. You still have the nerve to treat people everywhere. Aren’t you afraid of breaking Master’s signboard?” Medical Sage’s tongue has always been unforgiving when he was in the right, so he rendered Sage Apothecary speechless.

His Senior Brother was right. After spending more than a month with his little disciple, he didn’t even notice the hidden danger in her body, almost causing a catastrophe. Although he hated to admit it, he really has no talent for healing.

However, in front of Medical Sage, Sage Apothecary has always refused to show weakness, and so he insisted, “How could I smash Master’s signboard? You probably never even considered who rescued the Major General, right?”
