The Mysterious Heiress: Researcher In Disguise

Chapter 377 - Pure Feather’s Weibo – 2

Chapter 377: Pure Feather’s Weibo – 2

“Hah! I’m the reason Pure Feather decided to donate the books, and now you’re telling me this has nothing to do with me? Did your parents not teach you that you should not take things that don’t belong to you?” Mu Chenxi said.

The students from Class 1 chimed in, trying to persuade Fu Zhi to return the books.

Fu Zhi let out a sneer. She scanned the crowd with her pair of clear eyes before finally stopping on Mu Chenxi.

Mu Chenxi had no idea why but she had a bad feeling when she saw the faint smile on Fu Zhi’s face.

However, she soon straightened her back again. She was the one who had donated the books, so there was nothing she should be afraid of!

“Are you sure? Then why did Pure Feather post on Weibo that the book donation had nothing to do with your family?”

“?”

Mu Chenxi froze. Her eyes were filled with disbelief, and her heart started to beat in a panic-stricken fashion.

She wanted to go back to her classroom to check on Weibo, but there were so many students outside Class 21 that she could not move. When the students heard what Fu Zhi had said, they all took their phones out to check Weibo.

Pure Feather had set up her Weibo not long ago, and it had been certified by the Fi Corporation. Even though she had not posted anything on her Weibo so far, she had around 80,000 followers.

Right now, she had finally posted something on her Weibo.

[I hereby announce the termination of the cooperation between me and the Mu Corporation. From this day onward, Pure Feather has no personal relationship with the Mu Corporation. The movie adaptation of ‘Red Sun’ has been put on the agenda, and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year. P.S. After consulting with the Fu Corporation, I’ve decided to buy 1,000 copies of ‘Red Sun’ and ‘Phantom Light’ out of my own pocket and donate them to No.1 High School. I wish you all the best of luck in your examinations and hope you get into your desired universities.]

There was a moment of silence both inside and outside the classroom. They were not quite sure how they should react after seeing Pure Feather’s Weibo post.

Pure Feather had bought 1,000 copies of ‘Red Sun’ and ‘Phantom Light’ each out of her own pocket and donated them to No.1 High School. Not only that, but she was also ending her cooperation with the Mu Corporation. Did this mean that they shouldn’t have thanked Mu Chenxi today because these books hadn’t been donated by her? Was Mu Chenxi actually being unreasonable by making a scene here?

The tables had started to turn.

Everyone turned their heads and looked at Mu Chenxi as if they were blaming her for being unreasonable.

Fu Zhi put her phone away and decided to go back to sleep after she finished speaking.

Song Fang let out a cold sneer. He felt extremely delighted upon seeing Mu Chenxi get an egg on her face. “Did you see what Master Pure Feather just said on Weibo? She said she doesn’t have any relationship with the Mu Family, so grow up and stop acting as if you two are very close!”

Mu Chenxi stood stiffly in her spot as if she was frozen. This was not the first time she’d tried to make things hard for Fu Zhi, but it was the only time she’d embarrassed herself in front of the students of No.1 High School.

She’d thought the books had been bought by her father, but who would have thought that Pure Feather would be stupid enough to let go of the money and refuse to work with the Mu Family!

Mu Chenxi’s face turned pale. She pulled at her friend and fought back. “Stop talking crap, Song Fang. Do you know how a business works? The amount of money the Mu Family offered is the highest, so it’s impossible that Master Pure Feather would give up the cooperation with the Mu Family!”

“You’re the one who should stop talking crap. Do you think everyone is just like you? That she cares about money more than anything else? Besides, she isn’t short of money at all.”

“How do you know she isn’t short of money? If she isn’t short of money, why would she want to adapt ‘Red Sun’ into a movie? It must be because my father mentioned it before she thought of donating these books to us. Otherwise, why didn’t she donate the books to the schools in the capital and instead only donated to a school in Yu City? Although she said she has no relationship with the Mu Family, if we had not mentioned the book donation, there’s no way she would’ve taken the initiative to donate these books to us…”

“Sis, just how arrogant are you?”

Song Fang knocked on his desk with his book and frowned in annoyance. “The reason we’re human is because we know when to back off. Pure Feather has made it very clear that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with the Mu Family, so why can’t you just accept it and move on with your life? Why must you pretend that the book donation is courtesy of the Mu Family? Do you know that you’re just making us despise you and your family even more?”

The students nodded in assent. They were not blind, and Pure Feather had made her stance clear.

They had not thought so much about this before, as they’d thought these books had been donated by the Mu Family because they had a collaboration with Pure Feather.

However, now that Pure Feather had mentioned on Weibo that she had terminated the cooperation, they would not believe a single word that came out of Mu Chenxi’s mouth again.

“She acted as if she deserved it when we thanked her for the books this morning. It turns out that she didn’t do anything at all.”

Mu Chenxi did not know how to explain herself.

“That’s right. It’s Master Pure Feather who donated the books to us, but she said that she donated the books.”

“Does she think that she can have everything her way just because she’s from the Mu Family?”

The surrounding students all looked at Mu Chenxi with mocking, disdainful eyes.

Mu Chenxi stood rigidly.

Everybody hit a man when he was down. This group of people had still been praising her this morning, but it was suddenly all her fault.

Mu Chenxi’s friend tugged at her sleeve and suggested, “Chenxi, why don’t we leave now…”

Her pride did not allow her to run away. After all, she could understand that Lu Chuwan had not defeated Fu Zhi because no one had supported her, but she was different. She was backed up by many bigwigs, so there was no way she would let Fu Zhi ridicule her like this.

With that thought in mind, Mu Chenxi flung her friend’s hand away and snarled, “Alright then. Even though these books were not donated by the Mu Family, Master Pure Feather didn’t say that these books have anything to do with Fu Zhi either! Why should Class 21 have the exclusive version while the rest of the students only got the normal version? It isn’t fair, right?”

The other students who met Mu Chenxi’s eyes thought for a moment and hesitantly opened their mouths.

They felt that what Mu Chenxi had said actually made sense.

“Oh my!” Song Fang looked at Mu Chenxi and said, “Can you just accept this and stop being so unreasonable?”

“But Chenxi is right. Master Pure Feather has donated 1,000 copies of ‘Red Sun’ and 1,000 copies of ‘Phantom Light’. She didn’t specifically state that the exclusive version is for Class 21. You guys just got lucky.”

“We’re all from the same school, so why is your class so special? Why should only you guys get the exclusive version?”

“Yeah, that’s right! We should get the exclusive version as well!”

“Song Fang, I think you should give us an explanation.”

Mu Chenxi looked gleefully at Fu Zhi.

Fu Zhi put her hand on Song Fang’s shoulder to calm him down and said, “So what do you want?”
