The Mysterious Black Magician

Chapter 65 - Death Immunity Particles

After the fight ended, the hole on the stomach of Kesha had already gone and it returned back to normal after the resonance had been canceled, like no wound on there in the first place except for the torn part of her training suit.

Yet some marks of blood are still on the ground. Wounds may not bleed while in resonance, but coughing blood is different.

The resonance's main priority is to ensure the body is safe by sustaining it with death immunity using the particles known as Photonocules, from the root word of Photon-Nano-Molecules.

It's not a type of molecule, it's just modeled after the molecules using the super-advanced technology and magic that became possible through resonance.

However, unlike the molecules, it prevents the person's body from heavy loss of blood and prevents him/her from dying when the person in resonance took a hit or wounded himself gravely that may cause a person's death.

Some people even called these Photonocules as Death Immunity Particles or DIP.

Although, it would only activate when a person was in resonance with their deity. .

However, these DIP neglected wounds like a scratch or graze or any trivial injuries that would never cause death to a person in resonance.

After all, its main function was to maintain the body's safety of the person.

Even if the person lost blood and took grazes, as long as it won't cause the person's death, the DIP would neglect it. That's why, even if a person was in resonance, there's a chance for him to lose blood, suffer exhaustion, and take some grazes or any small wounds.

The light particles on Kesha's wound were the so-called Photonocules, Death Immunity Particles, or DIP in short.

Kesha lost her consciousness due to unbearable pain and from the accumulation of fatigue. But her condition was far from danger. Just a little rest and she would regain her strength later on. After all, the magician's body was tougher than the normal human.

She was stretchered to the medical tent that could be seen in the distance from the training grounds, Almina went with her.

Nonetheless, the battle she showed was highly commendable. That shield and a gun combo of hers will surely put headaches to all her opponents who don't have an ability capable of high penetration power.

It might be the reason why she was selected as one of the Elites even though she only has the affinity of 2 elements. Whereas most Elites had 3.

On the contrary, the Arrowbites ability of the blonde will surely become a big nemesis to enemies leaning towards Vitality and having low agility, and without any ability to counter it.

*Sigh!*

Yman let out a sigh after some thinking. If only he had such ability, he could probably finish his mission much faster and easier.

It was a good decision for the judges that they stopped the duel before something more serious would happen.

After all, it was only a mock duel.

He glanced at his left side and noticed the blonde panting slightly. A bead of sweat sparkled on her forehead when it was hit by the sunray. It added more appeal to her beautiful face. Her fair, smooth, and flawless skin was becoming paler, yet more attractive. Looking at her, Yman could tell that she was exhausted.

It is only natural though, for all that running and evading the bullets she did, certainly, anyone would be gasping for breath after that. And they were still fledgling, to begin with.

"Wow, congratulations M-Ms. Maena!"

"....."

He forced a lazy smile when he noticed her ignoring the girl beside her who was praising her for winning the duel.

|What a snobby girl, ahaha.|

Yman commented inwardly and forced a laugh in a descending tone as he thought that this blonde really had no eyes and ears towards someone who was weaker than her. She would give notice only to those people who she deemed strong.

For some reason, Maena felt someone was gazing at her, so she glanced to her right side and caught that unhealthy person promptly turning his head to the front.

'Tis! This weakling.' She clicked her tongue. Her brows wrinkled and sent a sharp gaze towards him. She was certain that that person was looking at her originally.

Yman immediately returned back his eyes at the front while scratching the side of his face, because unexpectedly, that girl glanced to his direction.

He wondered if that girl caught him staring at her.

Regardless, he must focus himself on the instructor's announcements for the next battle.

'Hmph.' Maena narrowed her eyes at him and snorted before she returned her gaze at the front. Waiting for the next battle.

"Heck, I don't even know how Ms. Kesha was defeated." Someone among the trainees whispered.

"Yeah, me too." Added by another voice.

"Didn't she successfully block the attack of Ms. Maena?" Someone asked.

"Right." Answered by another person.

"In any case, I don't know how Ms. Maena was able to pierce the stomach of Ms. Kesha." Another person stated.

"Yeah. Me too!" Seconded by someone.

"But. What a good duel that was! Now I feel I am burning with a fighting spirit." Someone exclaimed.

"Right?"

"Ahaha."

"Whoooo! I'm motivated to fight too."

"Me too....."

The topic about the first duel still continued and did not die yet even after Instructor Goki went into the center and was announcing about the second duel while holding a tablet in his hand.

Even Bob was looking at his back and asked Yman and Keremi about that duel. He nodded his head in reply. Currently, his head was full of thinking for the coming duel.

Some trainees shouted in excitement. Excited for their turn to show their skills to the officials. Most of them felt motivated after watching a good duel from those two pretty girls.

Kiko was grinning at the sideline. Waiting for his turn. He really was etching to embarrass that person he hated the most. Not only him, but all his friends around him were also thinking so.

Ahem! Goki cleared his throat.

"Alright, the next person I will be going to call out next shall come forward and you will choose the person you want to fight," Goki announced.

Yman frowned at this arrangement. It was not good for him if the instructor chose Kiko or his friends.

Those guys had personal issues towards him. Not good to fight them at this stage. Even though it was only a mock duel, those guys for sure would not let him go with a scratch only.

There were some ways to bend the rules in accordance with their motive without being penalized.

His only chance is that Instructor Goki would choose him first so that he could select a better non-hostile opponent towards him.

Like for example those natives from this world. Most of them didn't know him. Even if he lost, he would lose in a fair and educational way, and not in a hotheaded confrontation. Although they looked fierce and scary, he believed that they would show mercy at him.

At Least that's what he believes in.

For Yman, it wasn't about being scared, it was about knowing one's capability. Yman knows that he was the weakest person among all the trainees here.

Not just because he had lower status compared to others, these statuses are just there to put in numbers their strength, vitality, senses, dexterity, agility, and etcetera. It's not really that 100% accurate. Maybe about 99% accurate.

One's capability can only be decided by his own ability and skills or how he handled himself in a fight.

But the big difference between him and the others is their magic abilities and breakthrough level.

They were much faster in casting. And it was only natural since he has no mana and depended only on his channeling talent that was known as trash talent or ability. Which is probably true based on his experience, since the execution of his skill was even slower than those with mana.

Yman swallowed his saliva. But it was a different issue if he used his black mana.

Whenever he used his Black Mana. He could easily manipulate his channeling talent like it was an extension of his limbs.

It actually puzzled him. Since even if he was in resonance with Sistela and used her mana, the execution of skill is still a bit laggy. Unlike when he was using his Black Mana.

Although many people have channeling abilities, he was certain that most of their knowledge about it was only on his level.

The breakthrough level of their limiter also played an important role in one's strength. Which is Yman also behind in this aspect.

He was having a headache thinking about it so he decided to put it at the back of his mind for now.

Yman made a gesture of putting his hand on his head to catch the instructor's attention. Yet... the instructor seemed to be snubbing him as his eyes wandered around the trainees and did not even give a glance at him. After all, he was hidden at the back of Bob's broad back. And in Goki's perspective, Yman's arms must be numbing that's why he raised them. Goki already chose the next participant.

He pulled down his hand in dismay.

The next one who went to the stage was a boy. Yet Yman seemed to remember the dude.

If he wasn't wrong, that guy was one of those four from yesterday who was talking on his back when he was training on the shooting platform.

After checking the guy's info, Instructor Goki's eyes narrowed: 'Another well-known name.' He thought. Then his mouth opened and said: "Bren Storm, choose your opponent." Instructor Goki said.

Bren in a toothy grin scanned around the trainees, for his desired opponents.

And his eyes landed on the specific person. Everyone was shocked as he called his opponent's name.
