The Mysterious Black Magician

The small fireball blasted the incoming spikes and made the sand burst around, generating blackened dust.

After the spikes were blasted away, Mr. Earth King leaped out of the sand and charged in towards his enemy.

"!?"

An exclamation point together with a question mark appeared on top of Mr. Earth King's head when he noticed his enemy had disappeared.

He looked left and right but he could not spot him.

Maybe the enemy fled away? He thought. But then, he suddenly felt a grab from his tail. Also, his momentum stopped, and saw himself in mid-air.

He glanced behind, but then he suddenly felt the world was twirling. 

"Dammit!" He spat after noticing that his enemy grabbed his tail and spun him around. "Dumbass! Let me go! Eek!" he hissed and tried to struggle but to no avail.

A moment later, he saw his body fly upward. Damn! The enemy threw him into the sky! In any case, how did this man suddenly disappear and appear behind him?!

Inside the Citadel, "How the heck did that happen? That person teleported at the back of Mr. Earth King!" One person shouted in disbelief.

Mr. Earth King felt a foreboding feeling when he started to descend.

Looking at the descending figure of the Lizardman, Mr. Earth King, a grin happened in the face of The Mysterious.

"What was that guy planning to do?" Some random Ranker in the Citadel asked the question.

"Probably, attack the descending Mr. Earth King with a strong punch, or let him crash into the desert." Another person replied to the former.

"That's impossible! Mr. Earth King had sturdy scales and he's an earth Elementalist!" The former disagreed with the latter.

Mr. Earth King wanted to summon a Sand Shield to fortify his defense, but he must be in contact with the sand or any earth-made objects to do it. 

His only option now was to envelop his body with a Magical Shield, a higher version of Mana Coating.

With it, he believed that his defense was impenetrable.

Seeing the shining body of Mr. Earth King, "I know it! Now it's impossible to break his defense!" Shouted a person in the Citadel.

However, everyone noticed the newbie Ranker gripping a dagger in his right hand. Then he summoned crimson-colored magical energy onto it.

After summoning magical energy on his feet, he leaped in the air to launch an attack.

His dagger drew a long vertical slash from below towards the sky. 

Everyone in the Citadel gaped while staring at the figure split into two.

"How did it happen?" Everyone's thoughts.

It was so obvious that Mr. Earth King's defense was so high. Also, the newbie enemy was only using a low-tier dagger. Whereas, Mr. Earth King's armor alone was enough to block it. With the addition of his magical shield and hard scale, his survival rate was supposed to be higher.

But how come that an iron dagger was able to split him in two in just a single strike? Everyone was baffled at the thought.

In truth, it wasn't only a single strike. Yman repeatedly used his Time Warp. In total, he struck the enemy 5 times. But because of its speed, the audiences only noticed one strike.

However, it did not escape to the eyes of some real experts.

Even the younger brother of the Gustav family narrowed his eyes. As expected, this Crimson was hiding his real strength.

Before he left, Gilion sent another look to the person inside the monitor who was busy looting on his enemy.

He needed to prepare himself. It won't be long that person would rise to the rank where most Elite Rankers were.

He would be waiting on that podium.

Mr. Earth King materialized inside the private room of the Citadel. He was having a puzzled face. Still could not believe what was happening.

Even his friends in front of the large monitor could only shoot a piercing look at the person who was storing the items he looted from their friend.

And those who started to have a good impression of him were singing praises.

"Woah! My brother Mysterious is truly a mysterious person!"

"And he has mysterious powers that can defeat his opponent in mysterious ways!"

"Haha! Right! Now it's making me excited to watch his next fight! I want to add him to my friend list but I'm afraid that he won't accept it."

"Hmm, why don't you follow him?"

"Follow?"

"Yeah! If you want to get a notification every time our brother fights, just search his Ranker codename in the 5d-Seer. Then, look at the upper-right corner of the holographic screen. An icon of a person with a plus was there. Click it to follow him. After it, you will get a notification every time our brother fights. You can also send a gift to him to show your support to our brother!"

"Wow! Really? I didn't know there was something like that!"

"Oh man!" (Facepalm)

"Sorry, I'm no good with devices. Anyway, thanks for the info brother." Said the person while wearing a sorry expression.

"Just call me brother Gamebet!"

"Is that your codename?"

"Yeah!"

"Woah! Cool! But our brother Mysterious is cooler!"

"Haha, I know right!" Said Gamebet with a can't be helped expression on his face.

"Oh, by the way just call me Sweet Bun!"

'Sweet Bun? Sounds like a girl's codename,' Gamebet thought, but he could not tell if the other party was a girl, because he/she was wearing an oversized jacket and sunglasses on the eyes and a cap on the head.

"I see, good knowing you Sweet Bun!"

Sweet Bun nodded with a grin. The two of them were startled when the person next to them suddenly exclaimed. "Damn! I wish to battle our mysterious brother but I would rather watch him fight!" Said the guy.

"Fufu, are you asking for a mysterious beating, brother?!" Said Sweet Bun.

For some reason, some Rankers were talking about the mysterious newbie ranker.

After his 4th match, he was left with a 7% percent soul battery. But even with such little battery left, he proceeded and searched for his fifth match.

He needed enough points as soon as possible.
