The Mysterious Black Magician

In the deep of the forest, there was a clearing. And in that clearing, a man was standing. In front of him was a giant monster, it was facing at him like it was facing at a barely satisfying food.

The monster has a dark furry body. With fierce-looking eyes that were gleaming in red color. At the tip of its two fangs, sticky saliva was dripping from it. The beast was standing on four limbs and had a face similar to a wild cat.

The man in front of it was a beardy person. Wearing normal leather armor.

The man was no other than,

"Look, Roman was facing a fierce beast!" A random man in the audience podium around the public square of Main City shouted.

"What, even in the face of such a beast there is no fear on his face!"

"Finally a worthy opponent!"

"Woohoo! We can finally see his real strength!"

"Okay, now let's have a feast in our eyes!"

The audience broke into a furor.

Inside the monitor, RAAAAWWWWWRRR!!! In the face of a large gaping mouth, Roman stood unfazed. The rotten breath brushed his skin, but Roman stood still, receiving all the smell.

The pressure that one would feel in the face of it was enough to make them wet their pants. 

After its loud howl, the monster raised its front limb to snap the person in front.

Everyone gulped seeing the huge limb and razor-sharp claws. Thinking if they were in his shoes, they would probably sprint to where their legs take them.

But Roman didn't budge from such pressure. His shaded eyes that were hidden by the bandana on his head were like an infinite abyss.

A downward slash of claw came hastily, but before it hit him, everyone who witnessed it gasped without blinking their eyes.

The limbs of the fierce monster were snapped instead, at the back of Roman, stood a much fiercer and much bigger predator.

Its white fur that covers all over its body was trailed by white and blue electric flashes, and much sharper and longer claws and fangs sent fear to its enemies.

In addition, it has fierce eyes that cower even the monster in front.

GWAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!

After its louder roar, it condensed magical energy from its mouth and shot it at the beast in front. The beast looks-like it wanted to escape but it was too late. Only its feet remained out of it. The rest….. was pulverized.

The audience who expected a good showdown lost in thought. Never would they expect to witness such a domineering performance. 

"Fufu, as expected of the genius of the Hammerhelm family. Even a Rank 6 spirit beast was dealt so easily," the empress giggled.

Beside her, her niece was having widened eyes. It was known that Roman was only a young man, but he was already able to control a Spirit Beast of such level! He truly was one of the younger generation's geniuses in the empire.

In the Human City Zone 1, inside a room, the young man named Jin Makorov broke into a grin. "Hehe, a show-off," he mumbled with a glint in his eyes. Then he stood from his seat. He could not loiter any longer. A worthy opponent that had high possibility he would encounter in the coming competition had appeared.

The demi-humans in Encantasia empire had this unique technique that enabled them to control a high rank mutated beast, which they called as Spirit Beast using an item known as  Artefact.

Not only him that had reacted after seeing such a power. Inside a pub in the Human City Zone 7, Kiko frowned while saying, "Tsk, he is just a coward who needed the protection of the beast," he said with a smirk. He wasn't even a bit shaken by it. He still believed that his explosive skills were more commendable.

If he perfected it, no one in the world could defeat him. 

Recently, his training had good results. Maybe because that hateful person was nowhere to be seen. So no one could destroy his day. Seeing that gloomy person was like being surrounded by trash.

Well.

While watching the current competition happening in the Ecantasia Empire, it motivates him to fight in a competition too. To be watched by many people, in the world. Such a feeling of dominating your enemies while the audience cheering your name. Ahhh!! He can't wait for a day to come…..

Kiko was excited. Oh, right. The competition in their academy was coming too. 

It was regretful if that guy won't show up. Although he was happy for the disappearance of that Frog, it was regretful for him as he wanted to embarrass that guy in the face of many spectators in an official competition.

The other powerful Elites from different academies who were watching at the moment had different reactions towards it. Especially the Aces, or best known as the Top Ten human magician in all the Magic Academy in all Human Cities.

One if it was, of course, the current Ace of Zone 7, Miss Ice. Well, actually, she was chilling together with other beautiful girls in her room.

Ice secretly smiled upon seeing the bitter expression on the faces of the girls with her.

Almina and the others were unaware of what kind of expression they were wearing at the moment after seeing the powerful display of power shown inside the monitor.

They finally understood that they were still far behind if compared to the magician from the Encantasia Empire. Only an idiot would claim that they were stronger compared to them. Forget being more powerful than them, even being as powerful as they are just wishful thinking.

Almina thought that maybe Miss Ice did it on purpose to postpone the training of this day. To slapped on their faces the reality of how behind their power compared to the magicians of Encantasia.

Almina could not chill anymore. She needed to grow stronger as fast as she could. She had her personal reason why she came to this academy!

She stood up from her seat. "Miss Ice let's try the 7th floor in the dungeon!" She declared with gleaming resolve in her eyes. Although she was curious about the guy with similar skills to Yman, it was unthinkable that it was him. 

He didn't even have a reason to go to that place. And besides, even his sister wasn't in their apartment. So probably, they already went back to the Outerworld. Even though he had that unique ability that could even cancel the magic power coming from the demon, it was useless if he himself could not learn magic. 

He might be thinking that continuing his study in a normal university was more fruitful for him than staying in this world.

So for now,

She needed to focus on her own goal too. Well, if the time comes that their path would cross again. She wanted to become his close friend like before when they were just kids. She wishes for his success in life as she would be going to strive for hers.

After seeing the power displayed by one of the Demi-Humans, she could not waste her time any longer. She wanted to become a strong magician as fast as she could.

To lift the whole academy into the higher podium with her hands. In order to clear her brother's name to the members of top families on the Outerworld.

Maena also stood up, she too could not waste her time. She too wanted to become stronger for personal reasons.

Kesha had question marks floating above her head. She wondered why they suddenly suggested going into the dungeon, but she wanted it too because they could earn more money by killing some monster inside. Even the weakest beast inside the dungeon could earn them a fair amount. That was also the reason why the city nowadays was bustling.

Seeing the resolve and fighting spirit in their eyes, Ice smiled.

Finally, their fighting spirit had surged once again. She had a guess that these two were bugged by some personal feelings, and it affected their training. So Ice after learning that there was a competition in the Encantasia, asked Elder Paan for a day off.

Which she understood. It wasn't good teaching these two if their focus was not 100% in the training.

Sigh.

Ice let a breath depart from her mouth. This beautiful Ace dreamed of a day that she would be teaching some younger magicians. Now, she finally became a trusted big sister. Of course, she would be helping them to get stronger, they were like sisters for her.

"Geez, we go after we finish the first elimination round. I bet many interesting things will happen," she said.

Although the two felt so eager to fight monsters as of the moment, they understood that it was because of the heat of the moment after realizing how weak they were compared to the magicians from the empire.

Almina and Maena nodded their heads.

"Roman! Roman! Roman…!"

Every person in the public square repeatedly shouted his name.

Not only Roman was shown displaying his power, the other experts did too. But as expected the experts of Encantasia Empire were on another different level. They did not even bother that the other academy's magician would spies on them.

All in all, in the face of true power, only the strongest would succeed. It was useless to spy if they didn't have the strength to conquer them.

Around this time, Yman was getting a lecture about elemental magic from Cinder.
