The Mightiest Little Peasant

Chapter 336 - Cai Village

Chapter 336: Cai Village

Ma Fangfang stood there on tiptoe. She blushed when she saw Tang Hao looking at her body.

“Tang Hao, are… you free tomorrow?” She asked after hesitating for some time.

“What’s up?” Tang Hao was a little surprised.

Ma Fangfang blushed even harder. “Can you accompany me to return to my family home… Some time ago, my maternal grandfather fell sick and was admitted to the hospital.

“A few days ago, the doctor said that he can’t be cured and asked his family to prepare for his funeral. Of course, that includes his will. That’s the cause of the problem.”

Tang Hao furrowed his brows when he heard that.

It was quite normal for the members of a family to turn among each other because of a will.

“What’s wrong with the will?” Tang Hao asked.

“It’s a big problem. In the will, my grandfather bequeathed everything to my mother, leaving my two uncles with nothing. The will was supposed to be announced after my grandfather passes, but somehow they got hold of it.”

Tang Hao was shocked. That was a very big problem indeed.

The two sons would not be happy that all the inheritance would be given to the daughter. They must be raising a big fuss.

Furthermore, Ma Fangfang’s grandfather was from a farming village. The tradition was that daughters usually would not get anything from their parent’s will if they were married.

“Why did your grandfather write such a will?” Tang Hao asked curiously.

Ma Fangfang immediately looked indignant. “That’s because my two uncles are useless bastards. They didn’t care about what happened to my grandfather. My mom has been his only child who is taking care of him. She paid for all his expenses.

“Ever since my grandfather was hospitalized, my mom has been taking care of him. The two uncles only came to visit a few times.

“Now that my grandfather is almost gone, they’re crawling out of the woodwork and raising a big fuss. My grandfather has a mansion in the village, and I’ve heard that it will be demolished and relocated. It can fetch one or two million yuan in compensation.

“They said that they’ve hired some lawyers and they’ll be going to my grandfather’s house to negotiate. I’m afraid that they’ll bully my mother because she’s all by herself, so…”

“If that’s the case…” Tang Hao thought carefully. “How is your grandfather now?”

“He has already lost consciousness/ According to the doctor, he wouldn’t last more than two or three days.”

“Alright then, I’ll go with you tomorrow,” Tang Hao agreed to it.

The next morning, Tang Hao went to Dragonrock Village to survey, then went to Ma Fangfang’s house. He picked her up from her apartment and drove to Cai Village.

Cai Village was like Tang Village. It was located off a highway exit and was situated next to a mountain.

Its level of development was also about the same as Tang Village.

About twenty minutes later, they could see a signboard next to the road with the words ‘Cai Village’ written on it.

The car turned right at the signboard and entered the village.

Flanking the roads were farmer houses of two to three floors high. It was quite similar to Tang Village.

Many villagers were sitting in front of their houses with rice bowls. They were surprised when they saw the car driving along the road. They pointed at it and discussed hotly among themselves.

That type of car was a rare sight in Cai Village.

“Whose kid is that? Oh my! That car looks nice!”

“What make is it again? Audi, right? I recognize it!”

The villagers were talking loudly.

“I say, don’t tell me this is because of Grandpa Shunde’s matter?”

“I think it is. I’ve also heard that Youliang and Youtao are coming back today. They’re bringing their lawyers with them too!

“Sigh, silly Grandpa Shunde! He shouldn’t have made such an awful mess!”

The villagers sighed as they discussed it.

In a small village, news usually went around very quickly. Moreover, that was very big news.

To the villagers, Grandpa Shunde made a mistake for not including his sons in his will. No matter how unfilial they might be, they should at least get something!

Leaving everything to the daughter was unheard of, and even quite ridiculous.

The car continued driving forward until it stopped in front of a mansion.

The mansion was very big, though it looked rather old.

Ma Fangfang got out of the car, which caused a commotion.

“Wow! Who’s this girl? She’s beautiful!”

Everyone exclaimed in surprise.

“It’s Fangfang, Grandpa Shunde’s granddaughter!” Someone shouted.

“What? She’s Yourong’s daughter? I haven’t seen her in a few years and she’s so pretty! Tsk tsk, look at that car. She must’ve found herself a rich boyfriend!”

The villagers had various reactions upon seeing her. Some were envious, some were jealous, and some were mocking.

Most of the villagers who had mocking expressions were middle-aged women.

“Look at her. That’s the daughter of that jinx. Wearing heavy makeup at such a young age? She must’ve seduced that rich boyfriend of hers.”

“Isn’t that so! For shame!”

The middle-aged women gathered in small groups and threw envious glances at the car.

Tang Hao heard all that when he got out of the car. His expression darkened.

Those middle-aged women were reprehensible for gossiping about others behind their backs.

Ma Fangfang also heard that. She had an awkward expression on her face.

“Don’t mind them!” Tang Hao said.

“Alright!” Ma Fangfang replied, then walked toward the mansion.

She pushed open the steel gates and saw a middle-aged woman in her forties coming out to meet her.

She might be middle-aged, but her body was slender and she carried herself elegantly. One could imagine that she was quite beautiful when she was younger.

She was shocked when she saw the two people coming into the house.

“Mom!” Ma Fangfang greeted her.

“You’re back, Fangfang!” Cai Yourong smiled. “He is…?”

Ma Fangfang hesitated for a while and said, “He’s my friend from junior high. He is my boss now.”

Cai Yourong carefully observed her daughter’s expression and her eyes flashed with a mischievous glint. She knew her daughter well, and she could see that her daughter was interested in him.

“Nice to meet you, Auntie, my name is Tang Hao!” Tang Hao bowed slightly and greeted her.

Cai Yourong smiled and spoke to Ma Fangfang, “Faster, Fangfang, go and see your grandpa. There might not be another chance.”

Then, she displayed a worrisome expression. There was a hint of lethargy between her brows.

“Where’s First Uncle and Second Uncle?” Ma Fangfang said.

“They’re not here yet.”

Ma Fangfang was indignant. “Poor Grandpa. They’re not taking care of him, but want to raise a fuss over the will. Are they even human?”

Cai Yourong sighed. “They’re nonetheless your uncles, Fangfang.”

“I don’t have uncles like them, Mom. Don’t compromise with them. We’ll act according to how the will was written,” Ma Fangfang said angrily.

Cai Yourong sighed, and her brows were locked together even tighter.

“Don’t trouble yourself over this matter. You should go and visit your grandpa first! The doctor came last night and said that your grandpa might leave us at any time.”

Ma Fangfang was shocked. She ran into the house.
