The Lady’s Sickly Husband

Chapter 21 - Life Saved by Gold Needle

Chapter 21: Life Saved by Gold Needle

In the nick of time!

Before Mo Qianxue could realize what happened, Li Kaishi was cast away.

He flew far away to outside the yard. Then there was a crack, which was the sound of bone breaking and a miserable scream.

Mo Qianxue heard the wonderful sound but she didn’t go out to check, just fixing her eyes on the cold-faced youth in a neatly-cut suit.

She remembered that the youth was the one who held a sword in the carriage of Baiyunju to collect tofu this morning.

“Thank you for what you did for me. I owe you one. May I have your name?” While recollecting herself and shortly combing her hair, Mo Qianxue had managed to get rid of the awkwardness and fluster she just had and replaced it with indifference, politeness and etiquette.

In the modern cannibal business community, one must smile to his/ her clients even if a second before he/ she was crying. Without this kind of skill, she would long be devoured by the crazy world. How could she possibly become a boss?

The young man, holding his sword, didn’t show much expression, replying politely, “You’re flattering me. I’m the guard of the seventh young lord. You can call me Azhao.”

No tears? No frustration? No panic? She behaved in a way as if what had happened just now had nothing to do with her. By merely this composure, she deserved reverence.

Azhao re-evaluate Mo Qianxue in his mind. A person appreciated by the young lord was indeed extraordinary.

Mo Qianxue brushed with her fingers the estray hair and paced to the living room, “What can I help you? Is there any requirement from the seventh young lord?”

“The seventh young lord heard your husband fell ill, so he specially found a renowned doctor old Xue coming here for diagnosis. He hoped you can free of concern and concentrated on tofu-making.”

“Please pass my gratitude to the seventh young lord. I shall always remember what you have done for me. Please turn to me if I can help you anything in the future.”

Mo Qianxue looked to the door, but there was no one else, “Where’s the doctor? Let him come in, please.”

“I Heard something wrong and came ahead of him. The carriage is still at the entrance to the village.”

Was it the so-called clairaudience? Mo Qianxue was stunned. Azhao got out of the living room, and, in the next second, by one jump, he showed up on the wall, and in another one second, there was nowhere to find him.

Light foot? Mo Qianxue rubbed her eyes, cursing what a fucking strange world, combed her hair again into a coiffure, tidied up her clothes and then walked out of the living room.

Since a renowned doctor was coming, of course she should show her courtesy and welcomed him personally outside the house.

When she just arrived at the old willow tree, there was a blow of wind from the wall. She looked up, only to find Azhao taking an elder man jumping off the wall.

Was this guy used to skipping the door? Mo Qianxue frowned a bit and hasted to them, “I suppose you are the famous doctor old Xue. I feel honored and real glad to meet you.”

Old Xue felt Ning’s pulse, his face sullen, and reached out to stroke his sparse beard. Thinking for a while, he spoke, “The cold has entered the meridians of your husband. Luckily, he took medicine timely yesterday and the cold is blocked. Otherwise, the consequence would be undesirable.”

Hearing old Xue didn’t describe her husband’s condition as irretrievably serious beyond redemption as doctor Li, Mo Qianxue’s eyes were lit up with stars of hope, “Please help me save my husband!”

“The pulse indicates that the medicine he took yesterday has perfectly controlled the cold. The effect could last one hundred days. If coupled with my gold-need acupuncture, I’m sure the cold can be suppressed for two years’ long. However, afterwards, if the cold resurfaced and spread to the whole body, I’m afraid there is no other way…”

Within one day, Ning Shaoqing’s life span extended from one hundred days according to doctor Li to two years by old Xue’s estimation. Instantly, Mo Qianxue was full of confidence.

Two years were enough for her to earn enough money for inviting famous doctors and buying expensive medicine.

What she didn’t know was that old Xue was a retired imperial doctor who had been living in seclusion for many years and didn’t practice medicine on a regular base. But for the good relationship with Su family who had often helped him when in need, he wouldn’t be willing to see patience even if provided with highest respect and etiquette.

In the room, old Xue applied to Ning his gold needle.

Mo Qianxue waited outside, ready to assist him anytime.

Outside the yard.

From above dropped a silver. Li Kaishi opened his eyes wide. The flying silver at once let him forget the pain in his legs. He immediately reached out, trying to keep the silver to his own.

Yet, a black boot stamped on his hand, “Want it?”

Azhao’s cold was hellishly cold.

Li Kaishi shivered on the chill, but his greedy also woke up. Though this person was unmatchably powerful and came from downtown with high-ranking background, here was the land of the village of Wang clan.

He bet he didn’t dare to kill people in the broad daylight. See? He now compensated him with silver even before he required so.

This thought gave him more courage, “My leg’s almost broken. How dare you try to stop me from accusing you with so little money…”

The foot stepping on his hand momentarily moved to his chest. The cold voice rang again, “Perhaps, you want it to become your funeral money?!”

The freezing eyes were full of gloomy fury.

Funeral money? Li Kaishi shuddered again, “No, no, no…the money is enough for me. please! Please forgive me…” The foot trampling on his chest was suffocating. He held it with both arms begging for mercy in intermittent weak voice.

The freezing voice asked, “What’s wrong with your leg?”

Li kaishi hurriedly answered, “I broke it myself. It has nothing to do with Mrs. Ning.”

“Oh?”

“Yes, I didn’t come here today. My leg…my leg is broken by falling down the hill…absolutely…” Li Kaishi sounded crying.

“But if you fell on the hill, why are you here? I’m always a kind person. Never minding helping you!”

“Ah…” He could only hear the wind roaring in the ears, and the next moment, he was already thrown into the forest on the hill.
