The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 393 - Attending Funeral?

The eyes of hers had already changed color. Moreover,  the glare which she shot to her parents was already undefined with the thousands of emotions

There wasn't any single reason why she felt jealous. However, as she recalled how badly she was treated in front of their eyes, they had opted to keep themselves quiet

Why was such different behavior always towards her!?

Sitting beside her, Hannah could evidently feel Jennifer feel sour in her heart. The brows of Jennifer were the proof. "It's alright, he is younger than you.."

"How much I wish it was easy to convince myself that they do care about me just like they do of Emir…" a sleepy smiley started to cover her face when she realized the harsh fact.

"Sometimes, this attitude makes me almost believe that I'm not their child…" Jennifer's mumble was the talk of her heart.

As her parents already headed upstairs, only Hannah and  Jennifer were left alone in the dining space.

While Hannah was yet to finish her food, Jennifer already lost her appetite. Putting her spoon back, she massaged her neck a bit before saying, "I'm done.. come up when you are finished.."

"A-alright. Go and sleep." That was all that Hannah told as she saw Jennifer getting on her toes before she climbed the stairs.

The noise of her slippers was heard by her until it turned distant. A fresh look of concern was plastered on her face as if she totally was not getting what Jennifer was up to.

'She has changed.. but God, please for good…' Hannah could only pray for the future.

Meanwhile, Jennifer already reached upstairs. Yet she halted in her steps on the way to her room when she heard a conversation, a deep one.

"We will need to bring Jennifer tomorrow, otherwise, Smiths will be super angry." Amelia had told her father with pure fear.

"We will agree. After all, she is our daughter, for how long can she be upset? We will make her up some or the other way…" David answered when he gazed at their son who was now deep into slumber. "And this..Emir…he is acting too weirdly nowadays."

"Weird? He is like how you were back in those days!" Amelia's sharp answer made Jennifer clutch her heart.

She knew that she was doing a grave mistake by hearing their personal talks.

But was this her mistake when they are literally shouting at the top of their throats?

At the second note, David had brought his hand to massage his forehead. A deep sigh escaped his lips when he took the support of the nearby couch and sat on it.

A lot of worries were now revolving around them and they had no idea how to deal with any.

"Am.... how is it possible that our one child is so obedient and loving while the other is so...spoiled?" David's statement made Jennifer take a few steps back.

Her intuition was telling her to not hear what they were discussing. It gave her the sense that it would break her heart into pieces.

But then, gathering up courage,  Jennifer put aside all fears to overhear her mother laughing at her father.

She can't see the expressions, but from their tone, it was hardly difficult for her to learn that she was unhappy.

"Is there any reason to say this? Both of them are different... different as one is sky while other is...grass..."

'Wait..why is his mother describing in such a way?' Jennifer found no clue. It gave her heart some thundersome doubts. What was she supposed to take these words into the count?

While Jennifer's heart grew more curious, and suspiciousness was at its peak, Jennifer knew what step to take next.

From the eager expressions, she changed into the dangerous lady. But afterward, the softness appeared in her eyes when she took a deep breath and took a few steps back.

Closing her eyes and opening them again, she finally yelled, "Mom!! Where are you?"

"J-Jennifer! We are in Emir's room!" Jennifer heard her mother shouting and with a soft and faint smile, she approached them.

There, she saw her distressed state and her brother lying on the bed, where he had no idea what was even taking place in the world around him. 'Not like I care..'

But her main motive was something else. Averting her gaze, she looked at her mother with a timid grin, "I..I..was thinking..we can go tomorrow..to the Smiths.."

Hearing her, even Mr. David was shocked. Just a few minutes ago, she was so rebellious.

How come things changed so swiftly? He had no idea, neither did Amelia, who was dumbfounded by her words. "A-are you sure?"

In return, Jennifer nodded her head when she came closer to her mother and gave her a brief hug, "You have done so many things for me... let me do this for you both..."

"T-Thank you so uh do understand your parent's situation, Jennifer..." Amelia caressed Jennifer's hair.

In contrary to her formal and sweet tone, Jennifer's face had started to showcase some dark color.

The jelly-like the face of hers was replaced with the evilness that was already slashing with the evident hint of what she was going to pursue further in her life. 'Let's see what holds for us tomorrow...'

...

The Next Morning came very soon.

Hannah Was already surprised when she heard that Jennifer's agreed. It was unimaginable for this girl to agree without bewitching a plane in her brain.

After getting some things from Amelia, Hannah was just making her way up, towards Jennifer's room.

But then only, just when she opened the door, she saw a girl who wore an entirely black attire. Closing the door behind her, she still lazily laid against it as if her eyes caught something very interesting.

"So...Mrs. Jennifer, are you going to meet your fiance's family members or to attend any funeral at their home?"
