The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 360 - Your Time Is Over!

Two days have passed since the time when Javier told Jennifer that he will talk with his people regarding the international marriage certificate.

At this point, Jennifer was standing near her window while looking out of the place. It was mesmerizing as always but she could feel the unknown terror still residing inside her heart.

Since the time Austin told her about the possible arrival of Lucas, she hasn't stepped out of the house even once.

Neither has she contacted her family, for her own sake. But this only gave rise to many unknown possibilities inside her brain.

"Jennifer..." she heard Javier's voice from behind. Turning around, she looked at him, "I'm ready. Are you ready?"

"Y-Yeah..." Jennifer saw that he was currently wearing his black-furred jacket but Jennifer didn't hold the same kind of excitement that he did. With a lot of courage, she asked, "I was thinking...Javier..is it necessary to go today?"

Hearing this, Javier lifted his eyes in her direction, "Why? What happened today?"

"AND...Nothing happened but I was thinking...it is too cold outside. Should we go? We can catch a cold..and I have recently recovered." Jennifer told him honest with concern written all over her face.

"But Jennifer, that was three weeks ago. Not recently." saying this, Javier once again looked at his figure in the mirror, not taking the peak of Jennifer's sour expressions.

Her mind only told her that this wasn't right but on the second note, she knew the purpose they were going for today.

When Javier noticed that there was no movement from her side, it made him slightly frown.

After properly getting ready, he turned around to look at his wife who seemed hesitant. It made him confused and doubtful, yet he kept the same in his mind. "Jennifer...love.."

Walking closer by her side, he asked her to face him when he held her shoulders with a firm grip. Lifting her chin with his fingers, he made her look straight into his eyes without moving an inch.

"So..tell me. Why are you upset? Weren't you the one who told me that we should get our international marriage certificate as soon as possible?" How can Jennifer forget that?

She was the one who had pushed him to get it checked and hold an appointment for themselves.

As far as he told her, there was no appointment for the next three weeks. But since she grew very much impatient, Javier somehow managed to get one for them and she was very much grateful.

But why was she experiencing this unkind of fright that rested inside her heart?

When Javier witnessed that it didn't lift her mood, he asked again, "Alright. You do not want to go?"

"I...I.." Jennifer found it hard to refute.

On one hand, she would get legal protection as well but on the other hand, it would be really difficult for her to overcome the news of Lucas's arrival here.

At last, she took a deep breath to lift her eyes, "Alright. Let us go." As those words slipped out of her words, did Javier's lips curved upwards, "That's like my wife!"

Wrapping his hands around her shoulders, he added, "Also, I would like to take you to another place. Um..we have some time before our appointment so, first we will go there. I'm sure your gloomy mood will be lifted."

His excitement level was reaching the peak of the entire place. Jennifer never revolted but a faint smile covered her lips when her gaze never tore from his happy face. Ths sight which she wanted to embed forever in her mind.

Javier made her wear her trench coat when both of them stepped out of the room. They were walking in the direction of the main door, but in the middle, they came across the man which in return made Javier and Jennifer step in their tracks.

"Where are you two going?" Mr. Shawn Johnon asked with hands already behind his back.

He looked straight at Javier with stern expressions, to which Javier laughed.

"How does that concern you father? We can go anywhere we want." Javier spoke in a rude tone and he was ready to actually leave the place while tugging Jennifer's hands.

Yet he stopped when his father just stood in his way without any intention of moving. "I'm your father and also the man of this house. I'm simply asking you a question. What is there to get angry about?"

"Angry? Who said that I'm angry? I'm annoyed that you are actually making us late." Javier honesty told, without the hint of any guilt.

But Mr. Shawn wasn't anyone who would leave this matter so easily either, "Go wherever you wish to go and I don't even care. But, till the time you don't reveal where exactly are you both going, I'm not letting you go!"

"WHY?!" Javier asked with his expressions turning into a grim position. The frustration that surfaced was hard to even ignore. "I'm free and go wherever I want."

"Tell me the name of the place and leave. You know, I would have even let you go but this attitude of yours... needs to be settled before! tell me now!" Shawn was persistent which made Javier even more suspicious.

But on the other hand, he knew that his father's ego was hurt since he didn't give him a reply like a mere puppet. This thought brought a scoff out of his lips when he lifted his eyes, ready for a face-off with the words.

However, this wasn't what Jennifer looked forward to. She tugged Javier's arms with her other hand to blink her eyes twice in his direction. When Javier slightly bent back to see her face, which carried only one look: Tell him and leave.

At last, he took a deep breath to not let his nerves be impacted by this, despite them already being done. Without the delay, his eyes traced to see his father.

"We are going to the seaport of yorks. This information is enough for you to let us go." hearing this, Shawn Johnson immediately sided, making way for them. "See, that was as simple as that."

But Javier didn't react much. Tugging Jennifer's hand into his, he managed to leave the stairs where he didn't stop anywhere else except to straightaway bring her out of their mansion.

While Shawn simply glared at the lady who left with his son, the corner of his lips was lifted with a faint sly passing by.

"This was the last moment you have actually lived inside my house, Ms. Taylor. Now it is time for you to go back to your own place..."
