The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 271 - If I Fall For Someone?

At the same time, Jennifer was currently resting with her eyes already closed. Not exactly able to fall asleep yet on the verge of almost falling into a deep slumber.

But at the same time, she suddenly opened her eyes to stare at the ceiling of the room and got up. Moving towards the washroom, she walked inside and closed the door behind her.

Coming in front of the mirror, she saw her pendant suddenly shining. 'So.. they're calling me…'

Her smile suddenly faded but at the same time, she knew what was important. Bending down she opened the drawer to find Dustin there. She was very glad that it was already clean.

But there was a folded napkin inside it, untouched.

Her professionalism in this manner was at its peak as she took it out and afterward, washed her hands. Making it clean with water, she opened the napkin and what came into her view was a phone.

"Hmm... I knew this.." her eyes were simply glued to the caller's name that was flashing and without any hesitation answered back, "Hello?"

"Jen! My child, how are you?! Are you fine dear! Why did it take you so long to pick one call?" The worried voice from the other side made her head crumble a little bit.

A frown settled on her forehead when she answered back in a calm tone, "Too many questions for one time. At least let me speak what I wish to."

"Oh child  I was, you know, too worried that you picked up the call after so long. Anyways, tell me. Is everything fine there?" Was it?" She can't say it all at once but somewhere, she replied with a  little, 'Hmm..'

But it wasn't the satisfactory answer in her mother's eyes as Amelia yelled, "What hmm? Answer me properly Jennifer!"

"Do you want me yell just like you and tell the entire mansion that I'm... having a phone with myself so that they can kill me?" Jennifer can't help but put her displeasure in front of her mother now.

Knowing that she is in a dangerous situation and can be exposed at any moment, yet she is acting so ruthlessly, was her self-satisfaction more important than her own life!?

Jennifer wondered if she could actually hang up the telephone right there.

When she felt that there was no response from the other side, it made her frown much deeper.

Massaging her head a bit, she answered back in a slightly irritated tone, "I'm all good.. at least for now "

"It has been days. You should have given us a call but.. you didn't." What was she supposed to say?!

That her husband got engaged and she got busier with the messy situation and circumstances didn't let her do it?

Jennifer had no courage to split everything out of the cup, at least for now. Telling that Javier is her husband and she is married.. out of the blue and with this information, everything will only create a blunder.

"Mom.. it's alright  I'm all good here. You don't have to worry…" was all that Jennifer found it right to say but Amelia demanded much more, "Austin gave you a phone to contact us. Not to hide it. It has been almost for so long."

Taking a deep breath, Jennifer managed to control her turned emotions. Letting a sigh out, she said, "Mother… this won't be the right time to go back. I know... I remember your words that Lucas will help and all."

"Oh he will and I know that. I have the utmost trust in that man. He loves you, Jennifer. Surely he does! I don't what are you even willing to stay.... in this unknown kingdom." Amelia's hatred voice can be heard from the roots.

It made her stretch her own head but afterward, she simply let this slip out of her mind.

"I find no joy. But.. if I take the kind of risk you guys are demanding from me then I will surely end up getting killed and your dear Lucas will not be able to do a single thing." Jennifer had the last wish and that was to get revealed.

No, she isn't in any state of mistake to take that much over her own self, which was

Suddenly, there was the silence that made her feel irksomeness. She found it weird alongside, it wasn't like her mother to be so silent.

'Did she get hurt from my asking?' It was rare for the lady to feel bad as she is tough as the stone pillar.

If she holds the power to say bad things then she should hold the power to even listen to others.

Afterward, her mother coughed from the other side to turn a little bit serious on her talks, "Jennifer, my child, I know you too well. Do you have something to say?

"W-what do you mean mother..? What can I even say to you and hide?" Jennifer had nothing to say but a lot to hide.

Amelia didn't step back as well who asked again, "You are stressed, my love. Living in this place, under Johnson's mansion.. and you aren't even willing to come out and how is this and why? Is there any reason to do so?"

At this stage, Jennifer's eyes were wide as saucers. Her heart was thumping at an unsteady beat with the breathing already mingling with the unstable heart.

'If.. I wish to.. can I reveal?' It was hard, to begin with, as she gave it the second thought

Biting her lower lips, her eyes fell on the basin and her own nails hesitated. The mixed kind of hesitation started floating in her head when her mother's comments only pushed her to speak.

At last, Jennifer too didn't hold it much back.

"Wh-What if I say that.. I, by chance.. like someone in this state and I want to live with that person?"
