The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 256 - Fiance Vs Wife

In the morning

The sun rays fell on the couple who were snuggling under the blankets, sleeping in each other with utmost silence and peace. Last night was already tricky for each one of them, to go through a hundred emotions but afterward, they finally had one.. finally, they started their marriage.

When Jennifer felt the rays on her eyes, did she feel them disturbing? It was hard to open but when she did, the view that came was of the best view in front of the balcony.

Yet, what actually gained her attention was the hand that was hugging her from the back. She is currently sleeping in someone's embrace, and neither did the other party.

Turning her head around, she stared at Javier's sleeping face and a sigh escaped her lips, 'Finally, I have my husband beside me..'

Recalling the last night when he wasn't at home, she grew restless, her brain and heart were out of ease.. But this morning, things were already on the right track.

"Are you now staring at your husband  early in the morning?" The husky voice of his side made Jennifer's eyes widen when she lightly hit his biceps, "So you are awake!"

"Obviously. You move so much, how can your dear husband sleep like that?" So he put the blame back on her, and Jennifer made a face. But witnessing her cute and angry expression, Javier intimately put his head in her neck's pouch to inhale her fragrance.

"I'm so privileged to have this morning.. hmm.." the words brought a faint smirk on her lips when she replied, "Because you were a good man and came back in your room, rather than spending time with your dear fiance."

The smile on Javier's froze when he heard her words as she laughed slightly. But deep inside his heart, he knew how much he was lying to her from the start itself, "Jennifer…"

"Aren't we really funny Javier? Everything that's going around us? Our marriage, the night alone in this room and then, your engagement.." Jennifer was constantly laughing but her laugh contained deep fury and hatred too.

The depths of the arrows that stabbed her heart were enough to make her lose her calm and patience. Yet, she managed to smile despite all the hardships thrown at her.

Javier stared at her face and wrapped using hands around her shoulders. Covering them with a white cloth, he brought his lips near her ears, "I'm sorry…"

Sorry? A scoff left her lips when she looked deep into Javier's eyes, to make him know how she felt, "Was this needed? How foolish of me to actually not even know the rules of your state but marry you in all rush.. I should have already asked about this polygamy rule, I believe this.."

"It.. wasn't my intent Jennifer. I never want to keep a second wife with me ever in this lifetime."

The voice was very much clear to hear but Jennifer had her own thoughts. She doesn't know if it was really his brutal honesty? How can she believe him after witnessing the engagement last night in front of everyone?

Shooting her head, she gave him a negative look to define herself, "You didn't wish for a second wife? But you got the same, isn't it cute?"

"She isn't my wife until now. I only put the engagement ring on her finger and that's it. That doesn't mean that she is legally married… instead, WE are legally married.." how cruel for him to remember this.

She shifted her eyes towards her ring, which was slightly blue now, to say that it was beautiful to have some lights as well. It was amazing, so beautiful to see but her heart squeezed at the pain that carried with the same, "I don't want to to share my husband with anyone.."

As compared to her earlier voice, this time the tone of hers was timider. More likely to say, it was not even loud enough, only mummering in between her breaths but he already guessed why she was sad.

His hand was in between her as he played with them, and knew how much he craved for a happy family, unlike how he is providing for her at this point.

"I don't wish to have a second wife and you are the sole one, as I said earlier. You won't need to share me with anyone. This title of Mrs. Johnson is associated with you and that is for sure..'' Can she defy him? Though even looking into his eyes, Jennifer only saw his honest and deep vulnerability to the current situation.

But she needs some assurance too, as well as her rights. For how long can she bear with this attitude of his?

Moving closer to him, she kept her head against his chest and asked further, "You got engaged with  Emily last night but spent the night with me. You know, how will everyone react after hearing this?"

Javier lowered his eyelids, where his lips turned into a straight line  as he didn't reply but his lack of response only made Jennifer say ahead, "They will burst their anger upon you and.. will probably ask you to send me back."

"I will not let that happen at any cost." Came to his quick response again her answer which immediately made Jennifer frown. Why Was he getting so hyped up all of the sudden?

"You won't but Lucas will eventually find out about the union somehow.." she feared that their wedding can't be put under the wrap for such a  long period. One or another day they will have to face the harsh reality, it might be sooner the better.

But Javier has other plans. About the message that his people told him, the heart of his was already in the deep sea where his thoughts crumbled on their own, 'How shall I say that Lucas will be coming after you very soon?'

His heart wasn't able to read this so easily but Jennifer wasn't stopping without knowing too easily as well.

Her eyes shimmered with some distant emotions when she brought a question to ask him straightforwardly, the question which she feared the most.

"W..will… this engagement continue and develop into marriage as well, Javier?"
