The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 232 - Legally Married...!

Within the next one hour, the couple, Jennifer and Javier were sitting inside one of the marriage bureaus, already, as it was late night almost 1 a.m. yet there's no stopping them.

No one can even imagine the dream that a Johnson heir will go behind everyone's back and marry a girl whom he loves.

Especially when back at home, his marriage preparations were going at the highest pace as ever.

Not only that, but they were the talk of the town.

The official was working on the screen when he kept the paper in front of them as he handed them a pen. "Sign at the respective places. Agree that you are doing this willingly."

"We both are doing this willingly.."

Both of them spoke at the same time which made them stare at each other but no one said any words aloud.

The official nodded his head and asked them to sign at the respective places. "Miss, please sign at these pages and here… yeah.."

Hearing her name being called out, Jennifer took the pen in her shaky hand when she brought it near the papers.

'If I signed this.. I will be married to this man?' It was something making her think twice about everything.

She already agreed but this was a big step that was taking almost in the middle of the night when no one had any idea about it.

Will she regret it in the morning? Jennifer's brain doesn't have any idea but all hope that everything runs smoothly at all the cost. Otherwise, it will create a big scene.

'At least I'm getting to marry the man I love rather than that Lucas..' With this thought, Jennifer brought the courage in herself and flipped the pages of the document to sign where they were needed.

Meanwhile, Javier simply stared at her face when she was in deep thoughts. Jennifer didn't realize it but he knew that she was still doubtful about everything in her mind.

Just when his eyes started to narrow on seeing her frozen, did she bring her hand ahead and sighed, making him sigh in relief.

'I'm sorry Jennifer that I'm marrying you like that... but my Love, I have no other option. Losing you is almost getting myself a death sentence… and I can't let my life be taken from me after so much struggle..'

Was he guilty of keeping her in the dark? Yes, he was, adding to which the secret that he carried which he hasn't disclosed to anyone until now.

But this marriage was much needed, to keep her closer to him in all the ways when she has already fallen for him just like him.

"Mister, it is your turn.." the heading official called his name, Javier took the pen and signed by himself, and the documents were signed.

The man gave them the steps and at last, he legally pronounced them, "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, for your newly married life."

"The..Thank you." Jennifer managed to utter while Javier only nodded in acknowledgment. Neither of them had any expression but their inner feelings were already a mess, to begin with.

At this point, while Jennifer was feeling herself in the midst of a new world, Javier can feel himself overjoyed to hear her new name.. 'Mrs. Jennifer Taylor Johnson..'

He doesn't know why, how but everything seems so hardly imaginable in his eyes. The situation might result in many consequences in the future but for now, they can enjoy themselves as married couples.

"Let us go from here now.." Javier said after turning his face in the direction of Jennifer while Jennifer was out of the daze after hearing his voice, "Yeah. L..let us go now."

Once again they held each other's hand and made their way out of the building to come and sit inside the car.

But when Jennifer was still adjusting to her new life, Javier dropped another bomb, "We aren't going home right now."

Turning her face to stare at his, she can't help but ask, "Then?"

"Somewhere, I believe we should at least go to have blessings.." she was feeling him be confusing her intentionally,  Javier only signaled her that she will get answers to her question when they arrive at the place

Her curiosity was reaching its peak but her inner feelings asked her to stop herself from asking. She let him drive the car in absolute silence.

The silence wasn't awkward but it was unspeakable that it flooded in between them.

Within a few more minutes,  Javier stopped the car when her eyes flew to see the surroundings and could feel her heart missing a beat, "A.. Chemistry? At this time.."

"Hmm. Need to make you meet someone. Don't think too much, it'll be alright to come. Let us go now." Javier walked of the car and moved to her side to open the door.

When she got out of the car, her face was still very much in surprise.

Javier sensed the same when he added to clear her confusion, "This is a place where I believe our new journey will begin."

"You said to seek blessings..whose blessings were you talking about? I thought you meant any elder?" Was she wrong in guessing? It seems so because Javier only smiled a little bit when bringing her inside the cemetery.

As they walked further, the place where they arrived was none other than a tomb of a lady, which was covered with slightly dead leaves clear enough for her to read the name.

*Alice Johnson.*

The lady's name was unknown to her but somehow her instincts told her that this has something to do with Javier. At least related to her there, otherwise, this won't be the first place where he will bring her. "Um.. wh..who is she?"

"My late Mother. I wanted to introduce you as her daughter-in-law, the very first person who will know about marriage.."
