The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 223 - Meet You.

Nothing can give him more satisfaction than this. But the time has changed, so have his emotions.

Surprise and stunned were written all over his face which clearly indicated that he isn't willing to let her go anymore.

At the same time, Jennifer had no idea what exactly happened. Why has his mood suddenly turned gloomy?

'Who has called him at this crucial moment?' She had no idea but it gave her a headache too.

Noting that he was in a daze, Jennifer finally said, "Javier.. are you alright? Can we talk now?"

Hearing her voice, Javier averted his shocked gazes in her direction to stare at her as if some kind of cold water bucket had been poured over him.

"Javier..." She called his name once again but in return, all she got was a shook. 'What does that mean? Is he saying that we can't talk?'

It made no sense to her because his actions are a bit chasing and confusing. Moreover, when her eyes fell on his body, it came up to her view that his hands were even shaking a bit. This grew her worry when she was ready to pull the blanket off and step out.

Yet, Javier instantly pulled out of his daze, "Don't get up!" Locking their eyes, their stare met but what she came across was an aloofness, "What even happened Javier?! Why are you leaving in this manner? Hmm?"

"Jennifer, I guess I will be going.." With this, he walked to his closet and took a trench coat which he wore immediately.

Everything he did was seen as Jennifer who can't help but feel wary of the same. It was unknown to her what exactly took an odd turn? Where does he have to go out of the blue!?

Tons of questions flooded in her mind when he can't help but gawk at who.

With longing eyes, she doesn't know what exactly happened, nor is he willing to tell her.

"Javier, at least... Tell me what happened?" Wearing his cloak, Javier was ready to move out but stopped in the middle when he felt the fierce daze directed at his back, "I..I.. will have to leave for some time. Will be back very soon.."

"Will you come back at night?" Jennifer asked with a lot of uncertainty written all over her face.

Hearing her question, Javier gulped the saliva in his mouth. His forehead was filled with sweat since he didn't want to make any empty promise to her but she needs assurance too, "Will try my best. Take care of yourself.."

With this, he left her alone in the room when Jennifer couldn't help but sigh.

She was tired, either it is mentally or physically. Her head was painting a lot when she lifted her eyes to see the bandages wrapped around her wound.

'I did commit a big mistake last night.. but why is Javier in a denying mode for marriage?' This question held a lot of questions in them.

At this moment, all she did was close her eyes and rest them on the back of the bed. It wasn't how she wanted things to turn into.

But somewhat, in the end, they turned and they are out of her control anymore.

Jennifer spent the next one hour in deep silence with her mind muddling in different thoughts. She was overwhelmed with immense emotions and seemed in the world which was out of this Earth.

KNOCK KNOCK

The sudden voice made her eyes track of the door, "Who is there?"

"Jennifer, it's me.?" Without even looking at the person she already guessed that it must be Hannah and Austin who came to visit her, "Yeah! Come inside guys!"

Opening the door slowly, without makes any noise, both of them locked it on their behind to avoid any kind of suspicion anymore.

At their sight, Jennifer's still heartfelt beat out of blue.

As long as she remembered, they did come to her last night but what happened afterward was absolutely blurred in her memory lane. "Hey.. how are you guys?"

Coming by her side, both of them sat when Hannah touched her cheeks slightly, "Jennifer, you.. scared the hell out of me yesterday.."

Lowering her eyelids, Jennifer nodded her head in agreement, "I know that. I'm really sorry for that mistake... I had no intention but... I don't know what got over my mind."

"The punishment of one-sided love which we also called the near-death experience," Austin spoke, as well all throughout the start. His eyes were omitting the black layer of mist but that didn't scare Jennifer at all.

"You are not in a good mood either." Jennifer said after noting his facial expressions but that made him laugh in return, "As I said you, once your lover comes across, a near-death experience which I did experience last night after seeing you.."

At this moment, Jennifer controlled her urge to roll her eyes. She knew that this is nothing but his inner feelings which he has no shame to express, unlike her. 'Here goes the time when I don't accept his proposal.'

Yet Jennifer never let the need cover her broken-hearted face. Rather she kept a straight face, in the direction of Hannah, "Anyways, I will be fine in the next few days so they aren't too worried about that."

"That is good to know but, Jennifer, are you sure you are fine?" Hannah Asked with her brows narrowed, "I don't think you're fine, maybe physically you can be but.. mentally and emotionally? Are you?"

The question carried hundreds of answers but Jennifer didn't even give any. Rather she stayed silent to express anything related to it.

Her silence added more anxiety when they both passed each a tired look.

Noticing that it was the best time to drop the bomb, Austin took the initiative to do the same.

"Jennifer, we have something urgent to tell you for now.." Austin gained her attention when she moved her head in his direction and signaled him to continue ahead.

"Well.." he took a deep breath and stared at Hannah, "Your parents contacted Hannah this morning.."

This doesn't give her any good feelings either as her stomach churned more and more, "Hm? So.. what?"

"They have requested to meet you once in private with our help."
