The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 166 - Lost Someone!

In return, he received a negative response from the couple, "No.. not at all. We haven't disclosed it to anyone. Even now, we are quite shocked to learn that you have been able to secure this news, except us."

"Yet, unlike us, you do know about her dynasty.. also about much briefer details. Since you are at least aware of her origin too, I guess we are on the same path." Lucas stated and rested his body a little back.

His comment earned Olivia's gazes when she got alerted in her mind. 'Is he stating that whatever they are saying, is absolutely correct?' How!? Why!?

It was hard to digest as she never expected this outcome from his side.

Was he saying that whatever they are doing and saying is correct!? At this stage, Olivia really wondered if he was actually hearing their words seriously or taking them as a joke like her!?

Passing daggers for her side, she kept her eyes fixed in his direction but he didn't bat an eye to her.

Instead, he faced the couple with a much calmer look, try to know what the parents are expecting.

"You both want her marriage, so do I. Hopefully, if we work together, we can let that happen very soon."

"Obviously, Mr. Smith! Even if we can come to any help of yours, please tell us! We are willing to do anything.." David replied, not letting the chance come in the good books of Lucas.

Keeping one leg on another Lucas kept his hands on either side, parallel to his shoulders and placing them back on the couch.

"If you are willing.. I will be able to send you to the next state but how will that be beneficial for me?"

Hearing his words, Olivia understood that he will not extend his hand until he sees his benefit which was also the very first thing to occur.

Amelia and David passed each other a straight look and nodded their face in their direction.

After having chat via their eyes, both of them once again faced Lucas with the same calm and composure.

"Our plan is simple. For Jen, her family is her topmost priority. If we reside there and say, we are here for her, she will be falling for the same words. At the same time, if you help us, we can also get her out there, by getting her sympathy towards her family.. Johnsons are a problem but if we make them believe that we have no ties and contact with you, they are surely gonna believe us... though that is quite difficult it isn't impossible either."

Amelia and David togetherly laid out the plan they had planned together.

Although it wasn't an entire summary rather brush off from the upper side.

But Lucas wasn't satisfied either, "Do you think she will actually be concerned and moved by your words? Moreover, Johnson isn't any fool.. as you think."

Hearing this, a smirk lifted Amelia's lips, when she answered back with the same intense confidence, "If we aren't a good actor and convincer, we don't believe that we would have been able to raise Jennifer so blindly, not letting her doubt.."

Something seems to strike him at this point which made him nod his head.

The feeling that he was looking forward to was given by Mrs. Amelia. She is surely cunning and will not let Jennfier off the hook so easily.

Despite Lucas, Olivia wasn't satisfied either.

She found it useless since Jennifer, in her eyes is smarter. The girl isn't as innocent as she behaves to be.

"Alright.." Lucas put forward his hand and said, "I will see what I can do to.. make you both leave state soon. For that.. start packing your bags."

….

Meanwhile back in the state, both Jennifer and Javier were driving back to his mansion.

It was alright dark and Javier had to put a lot of effort into driving in the pitch dark with the source of light being headlights.

The darkness, covered with light of the moon being enough to make Jennifer recall some of her past.

The conversation with Javier was deep, opening her old wounds but his words did make any sense to her either.

'If.. telling something with him.. will help..'

He was too strange and this was something that made her feel discomfort yet the lack of comforts was overpowered with the disheartened and unknown feeling too.

Staring at Javier beside her, she stared at his face with her doubtful eyes, whether or not to disclose what she want to say or let it pass!?

It was hard to decide.

But in return, when he sensed her gaze on himself, he asked before, "Something?"

"Hmm." A short reply made him wonder in what kind of thoughts was she?

She continued to stare, making him a little bit frown but then he broke the silence again.

"Wanna share?" asked her, in return, he gained a shake from her side where he moved her head back into the road's direction.

There was absolute silence between them but her heart was purely restless because of the same.

Instead, she pressed her nails deeper into her skin, and bringing the foreign courage, she finally opened her mouth, "I..i..do.. have.. some..thing to share."

"You hear my ears."

Javier had already reached the conclusion that she does have something to say, seeing her stiffened body language.

But this time, he didn't speak anything, letting her lead her own battle.

At last, she closed her eyes when the words slipped out of her mouth, "You wanted to know about my fear.. which makes me… afraid of losing someone right?"

"Yeah.. if only.. you are comfortable" Javier spoke to make her feel that it wasn't any compulsion for her to say.

But what he missed was her urgency to speak, to relieve herself from the freshly opened wound which will stop bleeding when she let them slip out of her mind.

"I...I.. have lost someone.. close to me…
