The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 161 - Confrontation!

Back in the trunk, Jennifer felt a sudden push against her head.

Her body jerked all of the sudden, making her feel scared.

But at the same time, she was aware that probably, Javier drove at the fastest speed.

Peaking above the windshield, what she was was Charles standing at the entrance.

It puzzled her yet somehow she maintained her calmness, despite the pounding heart.

She was clueless about where he is taking her for now. With no idea at all, it made it absolutely useless for her to make assumptions on any behalf.

'He.. will probably lash at me..' with this though, her eyelids become heavy with tears.

The car drove, she can feel the moving of the car for few more minutes. Afterward, with another push, it came to a stop and it remained stopped for a few minutes making her wonder if they had reached their destination?

When she was ready to raise her head a little bit, but before that the trunk was wide open by Javier.

His expressionless face came in front of her as if a cold layer of mist plastered on his face.

"Javier…" Mumbling his name, she called him out but to her dismay, he simply motioned her to go come out of the space.

Without further delay, Jennifer lifted her body, and finally, she carefully stepped on the road beneath her. It was hard to imagine what he was trying to do, making her come out?

"W..where are we?" She asked in a loud voice but in return, only to get a distant answer, "Get in the car. We have to go far."

With this, he headed to the driving seat. There was no exchange of glances from his side, leaving her in the turmoil of emotions. 'What else can you expect out of him Jennifer? this is just the starting..'

Letting out a tired sigh, she too took the passenger seat beside him. The two of them hit the road with utter silence between them.

The awkwardness was reaching its peak, making her feel slightly uncomfortable.

"J..Javier..w.." to break the silence, She tried her best to say anything but failed when the words came out in a stumble.

To put a stop to a conversation he added too, "Put your explanations for later on. We will talk once we reach where we are heading to."

Jennifer wished to ask more and her heart didn't allow her.

Pressing her hands against her clothes, she nodded her head reluctantly.

The drive was for another one hour. Till the time they reached the place, what she saw was the river in front of their destination, making her wonder why they had arrived at such a place out of the blue?

Not only that, her eyes averted to see the climate change. The scratch sun was replaced, covered with clouds of dark color. "It.. will rain .. we shouldn't step.. out.."

"No, it will not. And if it does, we will head back as always." Javier answered back with surety in his words.

At last, he stepped out of the car and stood next to the river. Following his lead, she did the same and stood exactly behind him, covering herself with her hands.

It was bare silence since no one was willing to speak.

Jennifer gulped the saliva in her mouth but no words seemed to cut out. 'How can we stand here.. for no reason?'

When she emerged in her thoughts, Javier finally decided to go ahead with talks, "Why?" Was a small question from his side.

Keeping her eyelids she answered back with a timid voice, "There... there are many reasons for Javier. I can't explain any of them.."

"I told you earlier that whatsoever I'm doing is for your safety. All I asked you was to stay in the house itself but you dared to against that. Not like it was wrong.. neither am I you master but Jennifer, I asked you a simple thing but you still didn't consider my point of opinion?"

Jennifer's lips turned into a straight line. It made sense but what surprised her was his calm tone, despite her entirely risk today.

It left her in shock for some moment before reciting his words into her mind.

Lack of response from her side, made him continue ahead, "Probably, you have seen everything but have you ever wondered what could have happened if there was fire breaking out? We all had guns in our pockets and security too. They would have started the fires and you must have been already dead.."

"But I was in the car's boot. If the fires have even started, how could it harm me?" Jennifer can't help but express her point of view but it totally crumbled when he answered, "There are different types of guns and bullets. Lucas.. had the power to not only destroy us but our cars. He would have fired a simple bullet or either thrown one bomb which would have exploded the entire car. And you were in it.. imagine.. damn!"

In the end, he cursed for the very first time, but it wasn't concerning.

She opened her mouth to say but his words were too correct to reply back.

Finally, she knew that it wasn't only a risk of putting hai life at stake.. adding to his liability.

"I.. I had no.. idea.."

"But I had the idea of the same position and that's the reason I told you!!! Jennifer, I have brains and I analyzed the entire situation better. Can't you have obeyed for the one time itself!?!" Javier raised his voice, slightly, still trying his best to control and suppress his voice to its lowest.

Turning to face Jennifer, he stared at her eyelids which were down in guilt.

It was evident from her body language that she is aware of her actions too, and it was a decision taken in unconsciousness and a lot of pressing.

It made him frustrated, to the next level where his mind was ready to explode with irritation and irksomeness.

"Jennifer.." calling her name, made her raise her chin instantly to stare into his eyes, "Do you even wish to reside with me anymore or do you really want to go back to your state? Since…I can't keep you against your own will.."
