The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 151 - Javier's Stress.

Jennifer spoke what she felt was true and Amaira can't help but believe in it more.

She glared at Jennifer, and stared for a long period, not moving her eye for long.

"You are smart, aren't you? Are you some kind of therapist?" Amaira can't help but ask in a quite stunned manner.

Laughing hard, Jennifer's smile widened where she covered her face with her hand, "No, not at all. Just telling from experience and what I have come from. You are holding your past too much which is making our hearts squeeze. Try going out and making some friends, the change in you and your life will be much clearer to see."

She doesn't know if this was going to be true but it made sense to her.

Not something said to ease her mind but with Amaira could sense that somewhere, she was correct too.

For now, Amaira can sense a long-lost friend in Jennifer, who advised her with a true and warmest heart.

There seems to be no scheming on her face, which made it easier to convince Amaira through words.

"Thank you...for this.." was all that Amaira spoke in return, as she was already out of words to describe the current scenario.

The entire mess was in her head already yet Jennifer didn't mind, "Now Worries. I told you I'm good at this. In the end, you are in a situation and if I am helping, then be happy, why not?"

Her behavior gained a positive sign from Amaira who looked at Jenifer with gleaning eyes.

There blossomed a faint smirk when they quietly took a sip of the tea.

They both finished the leftover tea within a few more minutes and then, Jennifer took her to leave to go back to her bedroom.

A smile lingered on her face which was directly from the bottom of her heart. Clueless about what has made her feel so happy about, yet it was another fun to just enjoy whatever she did a few minutes back.

At the end of the day, what matters is, she was able to come in some kind of use to someone in need.

Coming inside her room, she sat on the bed and looked out in the sky. It was all blue today and almost evening. 'So much time passed downstairs..' she wasn't expecting herself to be so comfortable there in the first place.

Somehow she managed to come in their good books which brought a sly smile on her face with her heart pounding.

When she was deep in her thoughts, the door of the room opened behind her.

Turning around, she noticed the man, "Welcome back! You have come early today.."

No reply from his side made Jennifer frown. He straightway walked to the wardrobe and changed into his normal wear without uttering a single word to her.

Jennifer looked at his back and opened her mouth to say something but before that, he had already left the room to change into comfortable clothes.

'Not even talking with me?' Jennifer's brows narrowed when she understood that nothing wasn't fine at this time.

Otherwise, he would have at least replied to her. Moreover, being tired wasn't the option either since his face carried a stressed look.

When he stepped out of the wardrobe, she stood in front of him with her hand folded near her chest, "What happened to you? Why are you in a bad mood?"

"Jennifer.." a sigh escaped his lips when he tried to walk over yet Jennifer stopped him from moving from his place, "Is there something bothering you? You know you can discuss the same with me.."

"But not now, Jenifer. There is nothing..to talk but." he simply answered and taking the opportunity, he escaped her clutches, making his way to his couch to open his laptop.

Jennifer was able to comprehend what is wrong with her. His distant attitude made her strongly believe that something major has taken place at work.

For the same reason, his mood is sullen.

His eyes were entirely concentrated towards his screen without shifting his gaze even for mere seconds.

At this sight, Jennifer's eyes which are already passing him a curious look stepped near him.

"Javier… listen to me."

"Jennifer. At least not now. Please understand that.. I'm in no mood converse this time." Javier answered with neither a cold look nor warm. It was mild to say that something must have tuned his mood off.

If he wanted space, she was willing to give it to him.

Worse, it seemed that he needed comfort rather than space to settle his mind.

Closing his laptop via her hands, she snatched his laptop from his lap. Keeping it on the other side of the table, Jennfier took his hands into hers and gazed straight into his eyes with determination.

"Start talking. I'm not moving until you tell me what has happened." She was stubborn in her demand but this time Javier didn't pull his hand back either.

In the end, he stared at her face for a long, trying to capture it forever in his brain.

Finally, when he sighed that she was sticking to her words, he knew that it would be a waste of time to not discuss it.

"You seriously wish to know what happened?" Javier added with uncertainty since the topic was really sensitive.

It wasn't clear in his mind either, whether he should go ahead and tell her or keep some information to himself.

Receiving a nod from her side, he took a deep breath," it is related to Lucas…"

As predicted by him, Jennifer's face lost its color immensely.

Not only that but she can feel her heart beating too fast against her chest, on the verge of coming out. "Luc..Lucas?"

"Yes. Lucas. I told you before going that he has agreed to our demands, right?" Javier finally made her remise their talk before he left in the afternoon, to which he received a nod from her side once again.

"So… We have decided to go and meet him tomorrow for once and.. he is ready to give one of our people, as a bargain to start.."
