The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 255 - Chapter 255:

Chapter 255: Not Budge An Inch In Court

From what Jiang Xuecheng said, Su Wan could guess what Su Heng had said to Jiang Xuecheng.

She looked at Jiang Xuecheng’s cold look and couldn’t help pursing her lips and consoling him. “Grandfather said that out of anger…don’t take it to heart.”

Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly toward Su Wan. He gently nodded and said, “Wan Wan, I only care about you. As for the attitudes of others, I can’t be bothered.”

Su Wan blushed. Suddenly, she thought of something. “Just now, Grandfather mentioned Weibo. Did you share the news of what Su Jiankai had done on Weibo?”

Public opinions on the Internet could neither be seen nor touched but it was a real weapon that hurt.

The upper social circle placed importance in reputation. Previously, the affair Su Yurou got into had quickly spread because of Weibo. Both the Su and Gu families were unable to suppress it in time.

Jiang Xuecheng nodded slightly and then asked Su Wan seriously, “Wan Wan, I’ve asked Ah Si to pass the lawyer’s letter to Su Jiankai. If this case goes to court, would you like to be present as a plaintiff?”

At the thought of the day her parents met with the car accident, Su Wan’s fists tightened. She pursed her lips and her voice was calm with an unshaken force.

“No one is better suited to take the plaintiff’s seat than me.”

Su Wan did not believe that her grandfather wouldn’t doubt Su Jiankai after reading the news on Weibo.

Su Heng probably had an ostrich mentality—he was hoping to maintain the current state of balance, wasn’t he?

However, wasn’t it dangerous living with a person who would murder his own brother?

No matter who tried to dissuade her this time, it would not shake her determination to get Su Jiankai prosecuted.

***

Wednesday was the day the trial of Su Wan’s parents’ murder was held.

The air in S City was moist and it lay under the shadow of dark clouds. The sky, which looked as if it would rain, made people feel more depressed.

A Volkswagen Phaeton was now rushing toward the Intermediate People’s Court of S City.

Su Wan sat in the back seat of the Phaeton. She lowered her eyebrows and narrowed her eyes. Wearing a suit of pure black with trousers, she was dressed as if it was some kind of heavy and unforgettable mourning.

Ah Si, who was driving, occasionally examined Su Wan from the rear-view mirror. He looked at the road in front of him and reminded Su Wan softly, “Young Madam, we’re almost there.”

Su Wan nodded and looked out from the car window. The sky was grey, as if reflecting her current repressed mood.

Jiang Xuecheng had wanted to come together initially but he had to attend his regular meeting on Wednesday. Su Wan didn’t want him to delay his work for her sake, so without thinking, she declined his request to accompany her.

Jiang Xuecheng was still worried. So, he asked Ah Si to accompany Su Wan to the court.

After they arrived at the People’s Court of S City, Su Wan raised her head and took a look at the stone lion standing in front of the court before walking in.

Unexpectedly, Su Jiankai and Su Yurou arrived at the same time as her.

Since the day Su Jiankai received the summon from the court, he obviously had not had a good life. Before the hearing, he had been in a state of low spirit and his hair had grayed lots.

When Su Jiankai and Su Yurou saw Su Wan, their emotions surged.

Su Jiankai raised his eyebrows straight up. He hissed, “Su Wan, why did you spread a rumor about me? Have I treated you badly all these years? How could you foul my reputation openly?”

Su Wan shot a faint look at Su Jiankai. Sure enough, one would be numb when one has heard too many hurtful words of this kind.

What difference did the current Su Jiankai have to a contemptible scoundrel?

“I did not wrong you. The judges will naturally notarize. Uncle, if you have anything to say, please keep it for the judges.”

When Su Yurou saw Su Wan’s indifferent and calm look, she wished she could tear her calm face apart.

“B*tch, do you really want to send us to a dead end? Everything has changed since the day you returned from abroad.”

Su Wan stared at Su Yurou with her clear eyes. A light flashed through her eyes and her voice was as cold as metal.

“Who drove who to a dead end? Su Yurou, you should know clearly what you and your father did, shouldn’t you? Don’t pretend to be innocent here.”

“Su Wan, you…”

Su Yurou stared at Su Wan stiffly. Her look stiffened and when she was about to continue arguing, Su Wan and Ah Si had gone inside.

Su Yurou was panic-stricken. She didn’t know how much evidence Su Wan had. Once her father was convicted, what would become of her, the Su family’s young missy?

If Su Wan was still the weak Su Wan, they would definitely suppress this matter and turn a big thing into a small one. However, Jiang Xuecheng was behind Su Wan!

There wasn’t hope even if they wanted to lessen the sentence in the future.

Su Jiankai looked terrible. Since Sunday, when he was highlighted on Weibo, he hadn’t been able to eat and sleep well and he was extremely tired.

However, he had a battle to fight now. Su Jiankai would not admit defeat so easily. He darted a glance at Su Yurou and said deeply, “Yurou, let’s go in too.”

Judging from the information on Weibo, Su Wan only had one witness, Sun Yiming. If no other evidence was available, they could say they were framed.

When they were in the court, the lawyer hired by Su Jiankai started to speak with confidence and fluency.

“The plaintiff said that Su Jiankai had hired Sun Yiming to kill Su Jianyan, but Su Jiankai does not know Sun Yiming. Moreover, many people know how Su Jiankai and Su Jianyan had a good relationship. He lacks the motive to commit the crime…”

Su Wan listened calmly to the lawyer’s narration. Then, she instructed her lawyer to hand in a payment record.

“Sun Yiming’s bank account has an extra sum of one million dollars. Although the account of the payer does not belong to Su Jiankai, it belongs to Wang Wen, Su Jiankai’s secretary back then.”

Upon hearing this, he jumped up. He roared angrily at Su Wan and the veins on his face bulged.

“Nonsense, I don’t know Sun Yiming. If Wang Wen banked in one million dollars to him, it doesn’t concern me!”

Seeing Su Jiankai jump, Su Wan smiled coldly.

“Wang Wen’s monthly salary was less than ten thousand dollars, how could she have so much money to pay Sun Yiming? Uncle, since you keep saying you don’t know about it, let’s invite Wang Wen to stand up in court.”

Looking at the woman walking in slowly, Su Jiankai trembled!

Hadn’t Wang Wen shifted out of S City? How could she be here?

Hearing Wang Wen’s narration, Su Jiankai’s face turned ghastly pale. What he had thought earlier was too simple!

Su Wan had not thought of giving him a way out!
