The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 236 - Cruise Ship Auction

Chapter 236: Cruise Ship Auction

Sheng An’ning watched as Gu Zihang’s hesitant eyes calmed down and she sneered within. Gu Zihang was considering her proposal but still pretended that he didn’t want to hurt Su Wan.

They were well aware of one another’s goals, so why was there a need to pretend?

Sheng An’ning took the tea cup and took a sip of tea. “Mr. Gu, if you think this plan would work, then why don’t we confirm it?”

Gu Zihang raised his head and his sharp eyes stared at Sheng An’ning.

“When do you plan to ask Wan out?”

Sheng An’ning saw Gu Zihang’s look of urgency and she closed her eyes slightly. Her half-covered eyes sparkled with slight radiance.

“Mr. Gu, why are you so impatient? Su Wan won’t run away.”

Sheng An’ning put down the tea cup in her hand slowly. With a gentle voice just like spring breeze, she said, “I’ve just returned and am not close to Su Wan yet. I think I’ll need another week or two before I ask her out.”

In reality, Sheng An’ning and Su Wan were far from being close.

Because of the Secluded Orchid In A Deserted Valley perfume, she was afraid Su Wan now saw her as her number one enemy.

Sheng An’ning had actually gone to Di Chen, thinking of apologizing to Su Wan, but Jiang Xuecheng had stopped her every time before she could get into Su Wan’s office.

The two of them were currently wary of her. After one to two weeks, they might relax their guards against her.

“One to two weeks…”

Gu Zihang murmured and repeated what Sheng An’ning said. His handsome face sank slightly and there was uncertainty in his look.

“Mr. Gu, haste makes waste.”

Sheng An’ning looked at Gu Zihang’s gloomy eyes and laughed softly. Then, she stood up, took her handbag, and walked toward the door.

Her delicate figure went past the light pink beads curtain. Before she pushed the door to exit, she gave Gu Zihang a reminder from far.

“If you wish to see Su Wan, you might want to attend the cruise ship auction organized by the Lu family this Friday. Your Su Wan and the person I keep thinking about will be there…”

Before her voice died down, Sheng An’ning had opened the door and left, leaving Gu Zihang alone in the room.

Upon hearing this, Gu Zihang trembled. His eyes swept across the light pink beads curtain but Sheng An’ning was no longer there.

Gu Zihang turned around and poured himself another cup of tea. The curling smoke of the tea rose up, filling the air with the aroma of tea.

So, it was the Lu family’s cruise ship auction on Friday?

A faint light flashed through Gu Zihang’s dark eyes. He took a sip of tea and thought secretly that Jiang Xuecheng had always disliked attending dinners and auctions but the Lu family had managed to invite him.

Su Wan would go with him too.

In a flash, a beautiful face with a smile like a flower appeared in his mind. His slightly tense face slowly relaxed.

He and Su Wan were supposed to be a couple but a small deviation had split them apart mid way.

Everything should be back on track soon.

Gentle light appeared in his dark eyes. He recalled how Su Wan would follow him and call him Brother Zihang since they were young up till high school.

At that time, they were innocent playmates and childhood friends.

As he reminiced, he smiled. They could probably go back to their warm old days. Gu Zihang stood up and walked toward the hall of Aloes Tea House slowly.

Gu Zihang looked up slightly and said calmly to the waitress at the front desk, “May I have the bill for Room Six of third floor please?”

A waitress in a green cheongsam nodded respectfully and wore a professional smile on her face.

“Sir, Ms. Sheng has footed the bill.”

Hearing what the waitress said, Gu Zihang pursed his lips. Finally, he remembered that Sheng An’ning did mention she wanted to give him a treat.

Gu Zihang was used to paying. He swept across the door but Sheng An’ning was nowhere to be seen.

Gu Zihang’s eyes moved and finally walked toward his car.

***

In the blink of an eye, it was Friday.

The Lu family’s cruise ship auction would be held at 6 pm in the evening. There were ten floors in the entire cruise ship with luxurious decoration. The auction would be held independently on the top three floors of the cruise ship.

The buyers at the top most floor were all gentry and celebrities from all over the world. The lowest starting price of the auction items was more than one million dollars.

A lot of valuable treasures from the past could flow into the hands of the collectors here.

Hence, many people from the upper social circle were honored to be qualified to be at the top floor of the cruise ship auction.

Su Wan didn’t know the details of the auction. She thought she could dress up casually but at noon, she was dragged by Jiang Xuecheng to a styling company.

Su Wan was a sluggish person. She usually put on only light makeup and would get herself done in a little over ten minutes. So, she would usually avoid occasions like dinners.

The thought of just sitting in front of the dressing table to be styled by someone for hours was upsetting!

Except for the Beitong bidding meeting previously, Su Wan had not dressed up for a long time. She sat there waiting for the hair stylist to work on her hair.

Jiang Xuecheng walked slowly toward Su Wan and tugged her in front of the mirror. With a deep voice, he complimented her. “Not bad.”

Su Wan raised her brows and there was a sudden amazement when she looked at herself in a single shoulder long dress in the mirror.

Compared to Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan was indeed petite but after wearing seven to eight centimeter heels, she looked much taller.

The woman in the mirror had her long black hair tied up high, secured with a hairpin.

She was wearing a long white dress without much detailing apart from the few crimson blossoms spreading from the train of the dress.

However, the most eye-catching of all was the petal-shaped red quartz hanging on her forehead, held by a light-colored tassel around Su Wan’s head. It was like a red plum blooming in the snow.

Su Wan turned slightly and saw the red quartz on her forehead. She found it too seductive, like it could bleed any time.

Su Wan pointed at the accessory on her forehead and asked Jiang Xuecheng while frowning, “Is this too seductive?”

Jiang Xuecheng looked faintly at Su Wan and smiled softly. “I think it feels like the finishing touch that brings an artwork to life.”

This evening gown and the red quartz were sold in a set. By removing the red quartz forehead accessory, the dress seemed to be too plain. The red quartz made it complete.

Su Wan always believed in Jiang Xuecheng’s taste. Though she felt it was nice, she was used to a style of simplicity and had not tried such style before.

Su Wan smilingly held Jiang Xuecheng’s arm. “Let’s go, Xuecheng.”
