Chapter 162 - Reward

Chapter 162: Reward

A minute has passed since the event began, but sixty days have passed inside the store and the mini-portals world due to time dilation.

Pento was still in his first dungeon and was facing a goat that looked twice as big as him.

There was a complete change around him as the clothes he had worn when he entered the portal were nowhere to be seen. Instead, a jacket and Pant made of goat's leather, covered his body, while for the feet, he was wearing shoes made up of the skull of the goat.

Unlike the first battle, he didn't fall into the rage mode and was fighting while using a spear made up of the bones of the goat and the spearhead made up of the horn.

During these sixty days, he hunted the goats using the same strategy. He would pick on a goat every time, and the others in the group would escape instead of fighting.

He didn't take any risks because the goat could cause him to become rage-filled, so he only fought solo battles in which even if he got injured, he wouldn't die.

After thirty days, he was able to turn off the rage mode. On the forty-seventh day, it stopped affecting him in any way.

After that day, he started fighting the group of goats, and finally, the leader of the dungeon appeared when he crossed the kill count of 50 goats.

The leader goat and Pento had almost equal strength, so no one was coming out on top of the battle.

Pento had an advantage over the leader of the dungeon. He could eat the meat he had stored, and it would help him reduce his exhaustion, but the leader couldn't do anything but fight, despite getting tired.

Time flew by. A few minutes had passed since the battle began. As the leader's eyes were red from rage due to Pento's attack, it was using its entire energy to attack him, and he had to use his complete concentration to dodge whenever a dangerous strike came his way. Fighting like this for a few minutes made both of them tired.

The leader had gotten tired, but since it had lost its sanity, it didn't stop for even a single moment and continued trying to rip Pento into pieces using its horn.

Fortunately for Pento, the movement speed of the leader had decreased by several folds due to tiredness, giving him relief in dodging.

He hadn't been able to land a successful hit on the leader since the battle began. He had tried several times, but due to the size and movement speed of the goat, he failed every time. He had only been dodging the charge of the goat until now.

Due to tiredness, the goat's speed decreased, and it gave Pento a chance to counterattack.

Each time the goat charged at Pento, he would move a few steps away. The goat would then try to turn around to slam him again. At that moment, he would get a chance to land a hit.

Since he had also gotten tired, he couldn't conjure much of his power while trying to pierce the skin of the goat.

Pento repeated the same process again since the goat was mindless and couldn't do anything but repeat the same charge every time he moved away. Pento struck the same spot every time the leader tried to turn around.

After striking for the umpteenth time, the horn spear finally pierced the skin of the goat, but since it didn't have enough power in it, it only created a shallow wound.

But at this point, the shallow wound proved even more dangerous than a critical injury for the goat due to both mental and physical exhaustion.

With a thud, the goat fell down on the ground. Seeing the scene, Pento couldn't help but fall on the ground, gasping for breath.

The goat hadn't died yet since the injury may have felt critical, but it was only a shallow wound.

After a few seconds, Pento stood up, using the bone spear as the support.

"It will all be over after I kill it," He murmured to motivate himself while staring at the goat lying flat on the ground with its mouth wide open gasping for breath.

He gathered every unit of energy he had and attacked, aiming at the goat's head.

The next moment, a heart-rending scream echoed in the dungeon as the bone spear failed to pierce its head entirely.

After that strike, Pento fell down the ground since he didn't have enough energy to continue standing.

The spear was still pierced on the goat's head while the goat flayed on the ground, screaming in pain.

Pento didn't want to let it feel such torture, but he didn't have enough energy to kill it, so he left it to die on its own.

A few minutes later, all the struggle stopped, and the goat's eyes turned lifeless.

The next moment, a green ray of light emerged from its corpse and entered the exhausted Pento's body, filling him with all the energy he needed.

All the exhaustion he had, either mental or physical, and some wounds he had gotten while fighting with the leader disappeared, and Pento turned out to be the same as before starting the fight with the leader.

Pento took a deep breath and stood up. He could feel he had gotten stronger, but since the leader wasn't much stronger than him, he didn't feel much change in his strength.

The next moment, his eyes fell upon the corpse of the leader.

A surprised expression appeared on his face as he didn't find the corpse where it should have been. Instead of the corpse, a red spherical egg lay there.

His surprise turned into excitement as he picked up the egg from the ground.

"A weapon or a skill!" He put the egg down, joined his palms together, and prayed to his ancestors to get some good reward.

After praying, he picked up the egg from the ground and crushed it.

The next moment, a red light emerged from the crushed egg, and it dissipated into light particles.

The next moment, an ordinary looking knife appeared in his hands.

He couldn't help but feel disappointed seeing the ordinary knife.. "Anything is better than nothing!" He mumbled the next moment after seeing the sorry state of the bone spear lying on the ground.
