1253 Training and Panagea(End)

Chapter 1253: Training and Panagea(End)

After Lily and Khaval left for Panagea, Aakesh also walked in the direction of the portal room. As his habit had become, he turned to look at the leaderboard.

There was a difference in the leaderboard and a massive one at that. Ayriel had suddenly become the first adventurer,  jumping from 27th rank and breaking the consecutive yearly hold of the previous top-ranked adventurer.

Aakesh moved his eyes away from the leaderboard and walked toward the closest portal. The next moment, he touched it using only the tip of his finger, and immediately, a suction force stronger than anything he could fight against emerged and sucked him inside.

The next moment, all the countless shining stars turned gray while Aakesh appeared in the same spot where he had exited Panagea the day before.

Aakesh had been staying in Unleavable City for several years now. When he had come here, he had believed that the city was gigantic enough for him to take months just to travel to every corner.

But as Aakesh entered deeper into the city, he found it only growing larger. Aakesh also found the reason why those who entered the city couldn’t live with the help of Diti.

The city was in a different space altogether, and it was so complex that Aakesh even failed to sense stepping into a different space when entering the city. When someone tried to leave the city, they were punished because every living thing there provided energy for the area to continue to function.

The ground sucked in the energy of the citizens at a slow and continuous rate, keeping the space active. If it were to stop, the space would crash, annihilating the entire city.

It was impossible for Aakesh to leave as well since there were several Level 500+ beings inhibited in the city, and even they didn’t dare to leave because of the ruler of the city.

The city and its rulers had existed for countless years, and things weren’t that way forever. Something happened one septillion years ago, making the ruler isolate the city space. Several families had taken birth and died out since that event, but no one except for the ruler knew what caused it.

Aakesh wanted to meet the ruler of the city, but it was impossible for him. The ruler hadn’t appeared in public for the past several billion years.

It was not like life inside the city was boring. It was like a world in itself, with its own mountains, vast forests, and oceans. Aakesh could still increase his XP by hunting. At the same time, Aakesh was also actively using his class Watcher to gain rewards.

Since Aakesh would be staying indefinitely inside the city, he bought a small residence for himself where he could safely exit Panagea.

After appearing inside Panagea, Aakesh stepped out of the room, looking the same as he did before leaving the day before.

Aakesh’s destination was the Ender Forest since there were countless creatures around Level 300 at the edge of the forest. There were many other forests, but Aakesh was too weak to enter any of them, so he chose the Ender Forest.

As Aakesh stepped out of his residence, he found the boy from the Little Ghost Demon race waiting there for him. The boy’s face didn’t look good, and when he saw Aakesh, hope seemed to have been ignited in his eyes.

“I have a mission for you,” The boy said.

Aakesh would also take on different missions from time to time to make his stay in the city interesting and not bland.

Time flew by, and hours passed in the blink of an eye.

[Host, the time for your meditation has arrived!]

Aakesh was in the midst of doing the mission when he heard the system’s emotionless, mechanical voice ringing in his ears.

Aakesh decided to ignore that for the moment since he was at an important juncture of the mission.

The Lower sector was one such place. That place was filled with criminals, and since they were in cahoots with the local authority, bandit groups ruled the place.

Aakesh couldn’t postpone the mission since the bandits had threatened to kill the child that same day.

The bandit group was filled with only Level 300 beings, so it shouldn’t have been that challenging for Aakesh.

There was a concept called ‘Blessing’ prevalent in the Unleavable City. As its name suggested, it enhanced the abilities of the creatures. Diti was faster than Aakesh despite having a lower power level due to her speed blessing.

There were different kinds of blessings, and once a resident had stayed in the city for one thousand years, they became eligible for them. It was a gift from the system working in the city for continuous energy.

It worked outrageously, not following the basic cultivation law at all. Even a Level 1 being could beat a Level 500 creature if he had the power blessing to a certain extent.

The bandit group in front of Aakesh had one such user of blessing, and it was a troublesome stealth blessing.

No matter how hard he tried, Aakesh failed to find the location of the bandits.

What was even more outrageous was the fact that they could attack Aakesh since even Aakesh’s danger sense didn’t work. Even the skill [Energy Overseer] didn’t work, as if the bandits had no energy at all.

Aakesh would have turned the entire place into ruin, but that would harm the children and would result in mission failure, so Aakesh was patient.

The blessing wasn’t endless and had a fixed duration as well as a cooldown, so Aakesh waited to find the weakest moment and then end the mission.

Time flew by, and a few more hours passed.

Aakesh kept patiently waiting, and soon his efforts bore fruit.

The invisible cover blocking him from finding other bandits was slowly coming off. Aakesh had kept the skill [Energy Overseer] activated all this while, and finally a signature appeared.

He immediately acted and reached the spot. He still couldn’t see or sense what was there, so he didn’t attack since it could be one of the children.

Aakesh extended his hands and tried to grab the source. His hands passed through empty air, but Aakesh had gotten his answer.

As soon as Aakesh tried to grab the person, they tried to attack him.

Aakesh could see a threatening energy signature forming at that spot. His eyes turned cold, and he slashed.

The next moment, the energy signature started dimming, and not long after, it completely disappeared. The following moment, a crashing sound rang as a corpse cut in half crashed to the ground, with a blood pool forming.

Aakesh had various skills in his arsenal that could destroy energy, and he used the help of one such skill.

Time flew by, and soon the stealth was slowly coming off. Aakesh had killed more than ten bandits during that time.

Aakesh returned to the store after completing the mission. Since time flowed three times faster than reality inside Panagea, Aakesh had only missed two hours of his meditation time.

Aakesh then immediately sat down and emptied his mind. The purer ordinary Sacred stone began to rotate mid-air just a few cm in front of the area between his brows, and Aakesh absorbed its energy.

Aakesh was close to stepping into the late Divine Being, and hours passed in the blink of an eye.

The energy absorption rate increased exponentially all of a sudden, becoming visible to the naked eye.

The system acted on its own, as when the stone exhausted its energy, another one appeared in its place. In no time, five stones turned into ashes, and the sixth was on the verge of doing the same.

The aura around Aakesh suddenly grew turbulent, and a storm erupted in the store. The situation didn’t persist for long, and soon everything returned to normal.

At that moment, the sixth stone turned into ashes while Aakesh opened his eyes. A smile spread across his face when he looked at himself since he had stepped into the late Divine Being level.

Since the sun was still far from rising, Aakesh closed his eyes and returned to his meditation while a new stone took the place of the last one.

***

[Host, the sun is about to rise!]

Aakesh opened his eyes after he heard the system’s alert ringing inside his head. He then turned to his right and saw a blue screen waiting there. It showed the increment in his energy absorption rate.

Since Aakesh’s cultivation had grown, his energy absorption rate was bound to follow.
