The Female Lead Has No Cheats

Chapter 227 - Shoot (3)

Ch.227 Shoot (3)

“Very likely.” Leita took out his communication device and discussed with the director, even reporting their exact locations.

After receiving the news, the director obtained contact with respective departments. They were on the helicopter, on the way here.

After finding Mark and bringing him to the fixed location, their mission was considered complete. There was nothing else they could do by then.

“Look there!” Zhou Qing suddenly exclaimed and pointed at the east side of the forest.

They looked over to see tons of people standing there that originally weren’t there. There were even people crouching on the trees and hiding behind the bushes, pointing their guns at Mark and the little elephant.

Leita picked up the binoculars that he had on his waist and looked over. After observing, he exclaimed, “They’re poachers. So damn coincidental!”

“They clearly have been after Mark and his adopted son for a really long time. I bet they must have something to do with Mark getting separated from the little elephant.” Lin Yueqi grabbed Lu Ting’s shoulders tightly. Her palm was full of sweat and she was nervous.

“We can’t let them shoot Mark! They have a large quantity of sedatives in their bullets. It’ll hurt Mark a lot!” Leita furrowed his brows. He was aggressive from the start. Picking up his gun, he aimed it at the poachers.

The other mercenaries also lifted their guns and locked their sights on the other side through telescopic sight.

They had fifteen people. Clearly, they didn’t have enough people to fight head on. But they had advantage of the geography and the dense trees as cover. The other party couldn’t see them.

Lu Ting grabbed the binoculars and observed the other party. Then he pushed Leita’s gun down and exclaimed, “Don’t be reckless. If you shoot, you’ll expose our location easily. Do you see the guy crouching on the tree? Let’s shoot him down and cause them to panic and let Mark know about our existence.”

“Shoot?”

Lin Yueqi was confused when Huang Hai brought the bow and arrow over.

Due to the chaos at the campground earlier, the guests didn’t have guns. The only thing that could protect them and was a long-range weapon was the bow and arrow. Huang Hai left the campground with nothing but bow and arrows. He was thinking that if the elephant had caught up to him, he’d shoot them with arrows.

But he didn’t know how to use bow and arrows…

In order to not get in the way of Lu Ting, Lin Yueqi climbed to the other side and got on the ground like the rest.

Lu Ting was half kneeled on the ground. He pulled the bow into a full arc and aimed it at the poacher on the tree whose gun was pointed at Mark. Because they were a bit too far, Lu Ting wasn’t certain he could get the shot. Huang Hai only got one arrow as well. If he didn’t get him in one shot, it was really likely that Mark might be attacked by the poachers.

Everyone held their breaths and watched Lu Ting. Sweat had covered his forehead and the atmosphere was really tense and anxious.

Whoosh. The arrow left the bow and flew. However, they all overestimated the arrow Lin Yueqi made. It had a short range so it didn’t hit the poacher. Instead, it landed on the little elephant’s feet.

The little elephant cried in pain. Mark turned to see the group of poachers. Disregarding how boiling the fire was in the bonfire, it hurdled a bunch of wood in the direction of the poachers.

Mark’s trunk suffered from the pain but it seemed like he didn’t know what pain was. He then whipped the little elephant’s butt with its trunk as if urging him to run away.

The two elephants ran into the forest.

The wood landed on the poachers causing their clothes to be on fire. In order to put out the fire, they missed the good opportunity to hunt down the elephants. However, Mark still got shot by the sedative.

Everyone present as well as the online users in the live-broadcast room was shocked by how human-like the elephant was towards self-defense.
