The Female Cultivator In The World Of Men

Chapter 157 - It Was Not Him!

"Why is she not moving?" Yichen thought as he looked at the girl. She was stuck on her step for some reason.

They had been staying in this state for more than a minute. This stalemate condition was making him anxious about various things.

With each passing second, his heart was thumping inside him. His palm was wet with sweat. Subconsciously, he wiped his hands on his robes while waiting. He wanted either of them to take some action.

'Oh, there she moves,' he sighed when Le Fang Ling continued walking. He let out a relieved breath and continued his chase from a safe distance. Although he was sure he was not found by her(yet), he decided to play it safe. There was no gain in rushing things and getting caught.

He became more careful than before. He not only veiled his presence but also was tiptoeing.

'He would make a good dancer,' Feng Po Po mumbled as she hovered around the boy. All this time, she had been floating right next to him. She was invisible to him. Well, he could not notice her either way.

"Are you sure about this?" She asked Le fang Ling who was silently looking forward. She slightly nodded in confirmation and continued along her path to the residence. Feng Po po sighed helplessly.

She could see how hard life was for this girl. She was being chased around by people for no reason all the time.

Spending time around her made her have a soft spot on her heart for Le Fang Ling.

"Fine," she sighed out. She floated to where Le Fang Ling was and winked at her. "I will help you," she said with a smile.

Feng Po Po looked at the sleeping Nagina and shook her head. It was good that she was unconscious. She would be able to stay out of at least this one conflict.

Le Fang Ling spoke nothing, but her watery turquoise eyes expressed everything she wanted to say. She was thankful toward her.

More importantly, she wanted to ask a few things...more like interrogate the guy who was following her.

Feng Po Po being there was the best thing she could ask for at the moment.

**

"How long is she going to walk?" Yichen complained internally. He had been following her for quite a while but she was not showing signs of stopping.

He had presumed she was going to stop by her residence but now her action was getting suspicious. As he was continuing his chase, he felt a subtle change in the environment of the place he was in. he had been too focused on following Le Fang Ling that he forgot to look at his surrounding.

From the rocky path, they now had arrived at a green forest. He was now in a forest full of tall pine trees. they stood tall and covered the sky from beneath.

"What the…" his voice trailed off when he was completely covered by the shadows from the tall pine tree. He was momentarily lost in his thought as he looked around. The change in scenery was too much to process at once.

But he quickly regained his composure and cool and turned back his focus on his target.

"…"

What?!

Questions marks of shock and surprise filled his mind as he looked at the space in front of him. There was no one…Le fang Ling had disappeared from his sight. Right now, he was the only one in that silent forest. All he could hear was wind move.

Yichen looked at the dead silent forest, sweat dripping down his forehead. He could not believe she evaded his watch this easily.

'S-Should I return?' he was debating with himself and in the end, he decided to flee away from there. He was in a foreign territory whose knowledge was as good as nil for him. Even his divine sense was not able to help him here, in this place that he was so unfamiliar with.

"Don't move!" A sharp voice pierced his ear, making him halt on the step. He dared not to move even an inch. The killing intent on that voice made his blood curl.

Well, he could not move even if he wanted to…that is if he wanted to leave this place as a cultivator. He could feel tiny blades of leaves with qi imbued in them, all pointed at his major channel and vessel. If he was to move a bit or circulate his qi, he could be severely injured in his meridians. He… he could not afford to be a cripple yet.

He raised his eyes to look at the source of the sound. He froze when he saw a girl staring at him without a hint of compassion or emotion. If it was anger, then he could have understood but no! there was no anger either. There was no emotion, no nothing at all.

A thought struck him. Did she even consider him someone at all?!

"That face…"

"Ah, so you do recognize me," Le fang Ling said with a widespread grin. "And I thought I was not famous enough."

As she spoke, she walked towards the Yichen, who had been gawking at her…a bit terrified and a bit speechless. There was something about her that scared him. Unlike her half-brother, aka Le Lao Ling, she gave off a different type of scary vibe. The first time he saw her was when she had first entered the Le family household. He had thought then… she looked so weak and so pitiful.

But now, there was not even a small shadow of that past Le fang Ling in the girl standing right in front of him.

Gulp. Fei Yichen nervously gulped down the saliva on the throat. He never imagined he would be caught this early in the game.

"Young Miss," he called out to her in a shaky voice.

That was rightfully her position that she deserved in that house.

Le Fang Ling widened her eyes in surprise when she heard him. After all this time, she did not think she would be addressed by such formality again. Not that it mattered anyway.

She had given up the Le Family in her heart and after today, she was going to make sure she cut off her ties completely with her family. But she needed to meet the family head, her father to make it happen.

But!

She needed to make sure she survived whatever trick Le Lao Ling was digging for her.

"Did Le Lao Ling ask you to follow me?" Le Fang Ling directly cut to the chase. She did not want to dilly dally in an unimportant matter such as this. She still had to take care of Nagina, and there was this thing with An Cheng.

She had left Nagina with Feng Po Po in that brief time of blackout. However, she was taken by surprise when she heard Fei Yichen.

"It was not Young Master who sent me," Fei Yichen said weakly. "He doesn't know about this."

Le Fang Ling's eye lids twitched. "Huh?!" She did not buy it.

"Hah, what a bullshit!" She had the urge to roll her eyes. What did he take her as? A stupid?

"You sure don't love your cultivation base, it seems." She inched a bit closer to him and chuckled. she lightly tapped his cheeks...an effort to try and intimidate him.

"Tell me the truth," she placed her hands on his shoulder. "And, we will see what we can do about it later."

Fei Yichen flinched a bit. He  knew he was courting death by what he was going to say but he did not see any other way out.

He was caught and either way, he was going to be a skewered meat.

"Fellow brother," Le fang Ling met his eye level. He was a bit shorter than her and he looked easy to take advantage of.

'Did he bully him to this point he can't even say anything against him?' she wondered as she looked at the feeble boy.

"All you have to say is Yes or No!" She sighed. "Is is that hard?"

"It w-was not y-young master..."

"It was...Master Zuan who asked me to fetch you." He raised his head to look at her.. "He said he had something important to tell you."
