Ren Baqian pounced on the group of people in a killing frenzy. After a moment, half of them were taken care of.

Ren Baqian didn’t delay his attack since they were in a large space. He didn’t want them to have time to respond. With so many soldiers and so many guns, it would be hard for him to escape.

In Great Xia, he used machine guns to deal with their experts, but the roles had now been reversed with him on the receiving end.

After clearing half of the people, Ren Baqian quickly rushed toward some buildings in the distance as gunshots immediately rang out behind him.

Before hearing the gunshots, Ren Baqian already felt a chill in his back when they were aiming at him. He continuously changed his position, using wooden planks and boxes to shield himself from the gunfire as he slithered around like a snake.

Ren Baqian was moving exceedingly fast and was 200 to 300 meters away in the blink of an eye. After firing a few shots, the soldiers were unable to take aim at him. The place where Ren Baqian had run to was full of people, and if they were to continue shooting, the probability of firing on their own people was higher than the probability of hitting Ren Baqian.

The soldiers in the base were stunned by the gunshots and didn’t know what was happening.

There was no way to make them believe that someone had killed people in the military base.

Furthermore, there was only one person responsible for it.

They only heard some gunshots and had no idea what was happening. Many of them stopped what they were doing and simply stood there waiting for instructions.

Some of the people who were near the scene of the action looked in the direction of the gunshots.

Only a small number became dumbstruck after witnessing the incident that had lasted only a few seconds.

Ren Baqian only relaxed after he was about 400 meters away.

The maximum range of their rifles was about this distance.

The distance to the interior of the base was about two kilometres. It would take him less than two minutes to cover the distance, and they shouldn’t be able to respond in time.

After he entered the interior of the base, there would be nothing to be worried about since the situation would become very complicated.

The first time he killed a person was during the Great Hunt when he was facing an esteemed member of the Lian family. However, Ren Baqian had recently become an Earth Wheel expert and was able to block bullets with his saber.

Furthermore, in Great Xia, their commanders were able to block the bullets from Ren Baqian’s machine guns.

They were able to block for about a dozen seconds before their sabers shattered and they got shot up into minced meat.

Some of the Great Xia practitioners who had continuously used their daggers to block Ren Baqian’s mortar shells were eventually blown sky-high.

From this, the power of an Earth Wheel expert could be deduced.

Whether in terms of speed, reaction time, or dynamic vision, they were almost like supermen.

Although he had just become an Earth Wheel expert, his speed was faster than the aboriginals of the same level and he was faster than most beginner Earth Wheel experts. This was his strongest point.

Against these soldiers with loaded guns, speed was more important than power.

Moreover, he could kill a person with one punch.

This was why he made such a crazy decision.

As long as he wasn’t surrounded by people shooting at him in an open space, he was under no threat.

Along the way, countless people were stunned as they saw him moving past them at an incredible speed from the same direction where the gunshots originated.

It was as if the distance was shortened by him.

100 meters in two seconds.

3,000 meters per minute.

A speed of 180 kilometers per hour.

Before they could react, the figure that was a distance away was beside them. Then, it vanished.

It took Ren Baqian less than a minute to arrive at a building and entered it.

“Wow!” Ren Baqian finally stopped and gasped as he entered the building. This kind of speed was also a type of burden.

The two guards at the main gate had just reacted and looked at each other in disbelief before shouting in alarm and rushing in with their guns.

This was a very old building. Past entrance, there was a small hall with a corridor on each side.

Directly facing the entrance was a staircase.

A white man holding a towel was inside the hall and looking at Ren Baqian with a baffled expression.

The white man seemed to feel a wind blowing by before another man appeared right in front of him.

This other man was Asian and not that big, but looked physically strong.

It was very rare to see an Asian man.

Although this base was jointly used by the self-defense force of Japan, they occupied about 20 percent of the area and were located elsewhere, so what was an Asian man doing here?

“Who are you? Why are you here? You shouldn’t be here.” Since he was speaking in English, Ren Baqian could only understand the first question. However, the white man’s attitude was rather unpleasant.

“I’m your grandfather!” Ren Baqian gasped for some air and wiped the sweat away from his head. He moved forward one step, punched the white man in the chest, and caused the internal organs of the other party to spill out as if he had been hit by a car.

The two guards rushing in from the main entrance saw this scene as soon as they came in and silently aimed their guns at Ren Baqian.

By the next instant, they discovered that the man in front of them had disappeared.

“Oh no!” The two men realized their predicament, but it was too late.

Ren Baqian grabbed the backs of their heads and pressed downward.

Leaving the three bodies behind, Ren Baqian went up to the second floor before resting on the railings for half a minute while looking at the surroundings at the same time.

There were rooms along both corridors, and he didn’t see anybody around.

After opening a room, Ren Baqian saw a bed with some shoes underneath and a television mounted on the wall.

It looked like a dormitory room.

The few rooms that he pushed open were all the same.

Ren Baqian heard noises coming from downstairs; it looked like other people were coming to investigate after hearing the shouts of those two guards earlier.

Ren Baqian opened the window to jump down and saw a row of houses in the back.

He entered one house where a middle-aged white man was sitting at a desk and reading. The man was momentarily stunned by the commotion and was about to say something, but Ren Baqian didn’t wait for him to speak and declared, “I’m your grandfather.”

He jumped up to stomp the top of the man’s head and landed softly on the ground. The insignia on the dead man’s uniform identified him as a captain.

He went up the staircase to the second floor and found a row of cabinets filled with various types of medicine, two first aid kits next to a table and a chair, and two beds further in.

It looked like the person that he saw just now was a medical officer.

Ren Baqian opened the window to listen to the sounds outside, sat on one of the beds to rest, and planned his next moves.

He was planning to create an uproar here and was certainly not here just to kill a few people.

On the way, he saw some airport aprons and a runway. Behind the runway was a hangar that looked like a good target.

There were also warships in the harbor.

It would be even better if there were ammunition depots or similar things around.

Before doing these things, he had two important matters to attend to.

One issue was to procure some food.

The cultivation system of the other world wasn’t like those in the legends where cultivators only needed fresh air and nothing else.

Instead, the system was based on food intake.

Every battle expended a huge amount of energy that needed to be replenished by a huge amount of food.

A hungry man couldn’t fight a battle, and he was feeling hungry now.

In addition, he lacked a weapon.

Golden Spear. Metal Chain! Ren Baqian silently called.

The Metal Chain emerged from his head, then bent downward and positioned itself in front of his eyes.

The Golden Spear didn’t respond at all.

“Both of you have stayed here for so long—it’s time to pay the rent. From now on, you must do my bidding. Don’t think that I can’t deal with you! Otherwise, once I become a Spirit Wheel expert, I will put you back in the furnace to erase your consciousness, and the two of you will not exist anymore,” Ren Baqian threatened.

He was really pissed off at them when they were on the speedboat.

These two idiots had resided within him for so long, yet they were of no use. What was the point of keeping them?

Following this threat from Ren Baqian, the Metal Chain trembled.

Anything with a consciousness was most afraid of losing it as that would mean death.

This survival instinct was innate in all living things.
