The Devil's Sweetheart

The lawn was full of people waiting in anticipation to collect the scavenger hunt notes. Their anxiety has taken back to school days right at the moment. The crowd was almost gathered except Leena and Devin. One was sleeping like a log and the other was out of the station. Even if Devin was here, he would have said a big no to the childish game.

Opening the box, Leah and Austin went ahead to the gathering so that the crowd can pick up their chits. They have been complained about playing the football and basketball game multiple times which was making them bored and hence the scavenger hunt emerged and to make it a little adventurous and fun, they have come up with an outdoor treasure hunt

"The game would commence on the day after tomorrow. Let's be honest and dont peek into your neighbor's chits and also no exchanges. Remember we are all adults. If anybody is trying to play a foul game, they would be worse than a monkey and donkey." Glancing at Drew's eyes which were already wandering onto Jasper's chit, Leah screamed. "Andrew Dawson! Are you a monkey or a donkey?"

Leah's harsh voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He nodded his head in denial, his embarrassment rippled when everybody started looking at him as if he has done the biggest crime in the world.

"You have lived up to your name again, monkey fellow." Jasper snickered.

"Get lost donkey fellow." He countered.

"The names written in the notes are harmonized pairs. You will be paired into two and your partner name would be revealed when we commence the game. Until then, don't disclose it to anyone. Let's play an honest game." Leah declared looking at Jasper and Andrew sharply. For some reason, she was getting a little skeptical about these two.

"We are in." Everybody screamed in an uproar.

Stirring from her sleep, Leena jerked from the stupor when she remembered the treasure hunt game which she has not attended to pick her chit.

"It's already afternoon So, I am out of this game?" Leena huffed like a child when her imagination got crushed into pieces.

"You are still in the game darling." Entering into the room, Leah opened a box to pick the last remaining note.

"I did not want your beauty sleep to be disrupted."

The paper chits were picked by everyone who is up to the game, except Leena and the crowd was equally delighted to play the game apart from Devin.

At first, he didn't pick up any note but when Leah threatened him that she would partner his sweetheart with Trent, his trigger was kicked. So he reluctantly gave in to her wishes.

"I am the leftover in plate now?" Leena pouted her lips starting angrily at her friend. Still, she pulled out the last one from the box and opened it.

"Oh my? Is it Salad?" Leah exclaimed peeking into the note.

"What's wrong with Salad?" Leena asked.

"Ummmm... Leena! I am not supposed to reveal it but as a friend, I must look after you. Keep it as a secret of the juicy gossip I am revealing now. Wendy is the soup. So, she will be your partner for the treasure hunt game."

Curious about that funky woman, just like Drew, Leah also peeked into her chit when Wendy has opened. That's how she was aware of Wendy's pair up name.

"What! I can't bear with that lollipop." Leena screamed thinking of the exciting game with that lollipop slurping woman.

"Try swapping with someone else." She whispered." You know, what I mean."

 Leena nodded her head in a fog. She was already planning to exchange it with someone else but none of the person's face was clicking into her mind.

Talking with her for a while, just when Leah left, Leena abruptly got up and walked into his room and surveyed the niches where she could spot his chit but there was none.

"What a kinky fellow. He might be carrying it in his pocket. But I can't pair up with that retard. I can bear anyone other than her." Despite Leena wanted to get paired with him, right now getting rid of Wendy is her priority task.

She scoured her brain for the scapegoat and finally, her brain has delivered the answer. Let him rot in the hunting game with that Wendy. Leena immediately rushed out to carry her mission to bring back the smile on her face.

Gazing at the pair up name he has picked, Drew was almost on the verge of breaking.

"Why the hell I am partnered with him?" Drew cried but then he was glad to peek into Jasper's chit while he has opened it in the garden and that's when he got to know that Jasper is sugar as in his partner.

"I have to rob someone's chit now. Maybe Jurassic could help." Mumbling to himself, Drew walked into the washroom when his stomach began dribbling due to the junk he has thrown into it.

Waiting for the golden opportunity, Jasper wasted no time sneaking into Drew's room. He searched all the drawers and finally found the chit in a neatly placed box.

He was again shocked when he looked at the paired-up name.

"Thank God, I have seen it. I can't spend the whole day with that monkey fellow."  Just when he heard the bathroom door was pushed open, he put the chit back into the same place and rushed out of the door but he was caught already.

"What the hell are you doing in my room," Drew yelled. Did he come to check out the name? That could explain.

"I Went to check if you have stick your ugly portrait on the wall again." Jasper laughed with a roar.

"Nasty fellow. I wish I had more hands to show as many as middle fingers to you."

"What did you say?" Jasper charged on to him and their fight began from Drew's room and it got pushed to all corners of the room, finally ending on the bed.

Jasper pushed him on the bed, kneaded him with his legs grabbing Drew's hands with no escape.

"Donkey ass, you will regret why you haven't taken life insurance if you don't release me now," Drew yelled trying with all his might to unclasp his hands.

"Scrunchy lizard. Rot in hell. Aunty should have swallowed you when you were born."

The fightings continued in the bed until it started to shake and to their horror, all their activities were watched by the person they least wanted to see.

And their doom began!
