The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 71 - Wrist Watch

Leena and Drew dragged Devin to the shopping emporium along with them to purchase the stuff they needed to execute the plan perfectly, without informing Devin that it would be thievery tools. If Devin would have foreseen it was those useless junk, he would have surely gone insane with these two idiots. Even though he was not eager to shop, but when it comes to his sweetheart, he would obviously turn up anywhere.

The instant they entered the emporium, Devin immediately put on his mask to avoid the public without knowing he has put a wrong idea into Leena's mind again.

"Mr. Adonis! The beauty of rose fades with time. Only thorns of it remain forever." Leena scoffed at him for flaunting his traits just like he did at the airport and she got prepared this time. She pulled out a mask from her purse to put it on her face. But she sensed there was another puppy looking at her eagerly. She sighed and took out another mask and handed it to Drew.

"Thank you, Jurassic. But you are really a badass." Whispering in a low voice, Drew giggled at Leena's sarcastic remarks on his friend, and they also fist-bumped each other for berating him for which they obviously received aa sharp glare from Devin.

Since they were schooling, Devin garnered attention from every girl to the point of all their friends turned green-eyed of his looks. But none could raise their voices in front of his sharp tongue. Now that Drew has seen Leena's sharp tongue which is equally bitterer to Devin, Drew was laughing like an idiot. Someone has finally arrived to bite Devin's tongue.

"Are you jealous of my stunning looks or envious because someone is staring at me?" He asked with a mischievous grin. Devin wished he could hear the background music of Leena's so that he could understand what's actually going on in her mind whether she is jealous or happy or sad.

"Aren't you too self-centered?" Leena taunted his theory immediately. Jealous is not in my dictionary. Little did she knew, it was already ensuing, but Leena was too thick-skinned to admit it. She disdainfully glanced at all the women gawking at him like he is their possession even when he was wearing a mask.

"Thank you for reminding me how self-centered I am sweetheart, I almost forgot about it when I am already surrounded by one."

"Why you_"

"Hey!Hey! Enough of your quips. Let's go. We don't have time." Shaking his head, Drew dragged both the kids and stopped by a store. While buying tools, blackcaps, and some other bizarre stuff, Devin started lecturing when he saw the stupid junk again.

"Why do you need a torch?"

"What is this ridiculous outfit. Bananas in pyjamas?" Devin sighed. Are they really following the thievery cartoon television show?

"For heaven's sake, why do you need balloons also?" He asked with a raised tone.

"Not telling." Turning a deaf ear to his scoldings, Drew and Leena mercilessly kicked him out of the store. Devin gladly went out of the mall to have fresh air. He needed it literally.

"Shall we go into that store?" Pointing towards a certain direction, Drew talked in an excited tone. "I saw an incredibly extraordinary jacket."

"You are a fashionista?" Looking at his trendy clothes, out of curiosity, Leena asked. His outfit made her think that he also appears to follow the trends closely just like her.

"I love fashion. Do you?" Drew asked.

"I am madly in love with it. Life is too short to wear boring clothes. By the way, I really like your jacket." Leena said.

"Thank you, Jurassic. My friend brought this. He gets everything I ask for and he is more like a brother to me." Drew said, thinking of Wilbur. Even though Wilbur yells at him for always asking clothes whenever he goes for a business trip, he would still bring it to Drew.

"I also have a bathroom brother. But he would never bring me a piece of cloth." With disgust, Leena said berating her brother.

'Even though he is my cousin, I have given the privilege and upgraded to real brother, but he would never act like one.' Leena whispered to herself in a low voice.

"Bathroom brother? What a funny name?" Drew laughed clutching his stomach.

"He deserves that tag. You know, that idiot always visits the bathroom and stays for hours sitting there." Giggling Leena admitted to Drew. Leena really wondered how he is running a big company with that funny syndrome.

'Always visits a bathroom? Even my friend has that habit.' Drew mumbled. Before he could ask her brother's name, Leena already went inside the store and after entering and seeing all the clothes, Drew completely forgot the pressing matter lingering in his mind.

After going into the first store, they brought almost all the new trends but still, they were not satisfied heartfully. So they went into store after store and brought over an extent of clothes. Leena was happy that she earned enough money yesterday so that she could spend it on them without any worries.

"Actually we should have code names for tonight. Our enemy shouldn't know our real ones." Leena said, suddenly remembering which she had believed her brain has forgotten.

"Let's call you Mowgli," She said.

"No. I am not a baby."

"Ok, then. I will call you with Pooh."

"Ewwww...It's such a dirty name. Let's go with Mowgli itself then."

"What about you and Vincy?" Drew asked.

"I will go with Jurassic itself and for that shameless man, we will call him Mr. Adonis."

Drew pouted. She has given Vincy such a classy and handsome Greek god's name. But he has to adjust with this baby name?

After their vigorous shopping, both were utterly tired and was about to drag their tired bodies along with the shopping bags, Leena's footsteps suddenly halted at a certain store.

Looking at the shop, her thoughts immediately flew back to a certain someone.

"Oye Mowgli. I have to go somewhere. Can you walk alone?" Before Drew could complain, Leena shoved all her shopping bags onto him and fled away in a wink.

"Did she throw everything onto me?" Crying, Drew went out of the emporium carrying everything by himself.

The moment Leena went into the store, her eyes immediately caught sight of a beautiful sleek wristwatch sitting on the display stand.

"He would look dapper if he wears that." She smiled. Leena has observed he doesn't wear any accessories except a wristwatch and also noticed he likes to wear a new one every day.

"Welcome madam. Are you looking for any particular brand?" The store assistant manager politely greeted and welcomed her into the store. Even though Leena was still in a mask, the assistant could feel her beautiful features through the hood.

"Can you show in the women's collections?" Leena was looking at all the women collections the assistant was exhibiting, but her eyes were lingering on one particular watch alone.

"Please pack the watch over there." Pointing at the watch sitting over the display, Leena decided finally. She quit seeing the women's watches when she knew her attention was solely focused on that one particular watch.

"Y_es madam." The assistant reluctantly agreed. It's way too costly. Will she be able to pay?

Just when Leena opened and offered the Centurion black card, the assistant was shocked and looked at her with an open mouth.

'Good lord! How much this woman must have paid and spent over a year to receive such an exclusive card. Judging by the way she is paying without batting an eye, the assistant wondered if she is a rich brat heiress.'

"For your boyfriend?" The shop assistant asked packing the watch. It must be for her boyfriend only. Why else she would buy an expensive watch worth millions if not for him.

"Huh?"

"I mean, are you gifting to your boyfriend?"

"I_me_ I no...I don't have a boyfriend." Saying that Leena grabbed the paper bag and rushed out of the store. Her face turned crimson red with the assistant remarks.

After calming down her nerves, Leena uttered a profanity at her earlier demeanor.

"Why did I buy this one? For whom?" Leena clearly knew it is for him, but she was also wondering why she has brought it in the first place.

"You have gone insane Leena. Wake up." Huffing like a child, she was about to march forward, but her body abruptly hit a sturdy wall. A human wall she must say. When she looked at the man, her face instantly heated up remembering the assistant's remarks.

"You are still buying things?" Devin inquired. When Drew appeared carrying all the paper bags, it was a no shock to Devin. He knew his sweetheart's love for clothes but where is she in person? When Drew said that she went in search of something again, he whacked him for leaving her alone and rushed inside the emporium again.

Devin was scanning every floor looking for her and finally, his eyes fell on the girl walking and talking to herself with an occasional frown. Even though she was still wearing a mask, he could easily identify his darling anywhere.

"What did you buy this time?" Devin asked trying to peek at the bag which Leena immediately put it behind her so that he could not peer.

"I_I It's something personal. You shouldn't ask those kinds of things with a girl."

"Sorry sweetheart. I often forget you are a girl." He teased her.

Lifting her leg, she slammed her high heals over his leg and drifted away.

"Oww...Why is her kick so powerful." Half hoping, Devin also followed behind her with pain.

"What's in the paper bag?" Devin wondered. He had seen the name of the brand and it also looked like a watch. Is it for her or to someone?

"Definitely not for me. I would be in the last list if she ever wishes to give something.." With a sad mood, he went out in search of her.
