The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 197 - First Kiss

Twilight chipped in by the time Leena and Reese reached home. Like a cat, Leena slowly opened the bedroom door and peeked at Devin, his fingers danced over the keyboard.

"He is working even today?" She muttered under her breath and went into the walk-in-closet to arrange the new clothes she brought. Since he was engrossed in the work, Leena believed he did not notice the bags she was carrying. Little did she know, her movements were being watched from the moment she stepped out of the house.

The safety guard's he has arranged have informed him she met a woman at the shopping complex but Devin didn't want to probe still. Leena is not the one who keeps secrets with herself and if it is important, she would discuss it with him. He should wait for the time.

Honestly, he wanted to put a stop to her dressing addiction. He knew she would come home carrying at least twenty dresses and she didn't disappoint. She shops online every day and as if it is not enough, she drags him for offline shopping every weekend.

"The phrase born to shop would suit her better." With a sigh, he went back to work.

...

Freshly showered, Leena stepped out of the bathroom in a sexy nightdress. She knew her delicate collarbones, and alluring neck would keep him off the track and that's what she wants tonight.

The war has begun between his soul and the demons of his mind. His body has become a marionette in a puppet show, his strings were slowly drawing out watching her wandering in the room in that thin dress. He knew she is testing his patience. He is on the verge of breaking and on top of it, she started singing a song.

"Let's play us a sexy song, while we, we get in, while we, we take it off....."

Leena slowly walked towards the bed and he assumed it was to talk with him and he immediately turned to face her with a smile. But to his dismay, he bent down as if she was picking something from the floor.

The last straw he was holding broke when he saw her dress dipped to reveal her cleavage. His heart made his blood gusty and it was jumping to press his lips into those bustling peeks. He threw the laptop aside and pulled her by the waist.

"You have successfully manipulated me to break the silence, monster." He pinned her body on the bed and straddled her leaving no room for escape.

"S_top tickling me, you beast." Leena wheezed, tears trickled down her face. She laughed taking

deep breaths at the tickling sensation when his hands roamed over the sensitive parts of her body.

"I am yet to start your punishment." He muttered. "You dare to start a cold war for the whole week."

"Wasn't it your fault_"

She gasped for air when Devin pressed his lips, shoving his hot tongue deeper into the forbidden area, slow and sensual. He pulled back from the kiss which did not last for even a minute, unusual of him. He muttered avoiding her stricken gaze when he remembered a certain person."All I was wondering, was he probably different than me?"

Instantly, he pressed his lips wishing those words shouldn't have come out of his mouth but it was far too late. He was never a person to compare himself with any other man but when it comes to her, all hell will break loose. Devin couldn't look at her deeply affected face. He hastily got up and wordlessly strolled out of the room leaving Leena in mare's nest.

"Different than him? Is he talking about Ethan? Does he know about him already?" Leena dashed out of the room and searched all the rooms and finally, she found him standing on the balcony, his eyes gazing at a distance. She quietly approached him and snaked her arms around his waist as her face rested on his back.

He froze with the sudden seizure. He did not expect Leena would come looking for him.

Silence prevailed except the blowing wind caressing her face and his steady breathing. Leena was scared that he misunderstood her while he was feeling guilty for bringing the topic.

Even if Leena was scared, she already decided to talk about Ethan.

"Ethan was my senior at the university." Leena broke the silence. "I should have talked to you about him earlier, but_"

Leena halted powerless to continue further. She never wanted to talk about Ethan but at the same time, she wanted to come transparent about her past.

Devin unsnarled her hands and turned around facing her. "I am sorry for bringing the topic again."

"You have every right to know, Devin. I should be the one to_"

"Don't blame yourself." He whispered resting his forehead against hers. "I got to know about your relationship with him when we were in Seattle. I know you loved him in the past, he cheated on you and you was not ready for any relationship back then but you have trusted me. I will never betray you. I will never look at any other woman except you and_"

All of a sudden, he stopped his words when Leena broke into a fit of laughter.

"Are you questioning my sincerity?" He yelled. The thought of Leena loving someone else itself was disturbing him and it took him a lot of courage and now she is laughing at him.

"I would never, Devin." She added. "But you have assumed everything wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"Who said he cheated on me?" Her smile worked its way across her face all the way to her eyes. She understood Devin has not investigated her past and patiently waiting for her to reveal it.

"Didn't he?" He asked in unrest. The way she is supporting him, it looked like she still likes him.

"I never loved him in the first place to get cheated."

She hugged his waist missing his warmth. "I have never felt anything towards him. It's you always. You are the best thing that happened in my life."

Devin released himself from the hug and looked at her. Hundreds of questions running on his mind, he was surprised, shocked. If she has not loved Ethan, then he must be her first love. Never he felt vetoing Ethan was an achievement but he is feeling that excitement today.

"One more thing, you should know," Leena stated.

"W_hat?"

"I never kissed Ethan like the way I did with you. In fact, I never kissed him."

"I don't need to know it, Leena." Although Devin was on cloud nine, joyous that she never kissed that bastard, he concealed it. He was not a masochist expecting her to be a virgin but right now he was overwhelming with happiness.

"But I wanted to be honest with you in his matter. I don't want his topic to be our discussion when we fight in the future."

"Your man is not so cheap." He rubbed her nose and added. "So, I was your first kiss?" Just now he said, he is not bothered and he is asking again.

Leena stiffened when she was asked about her first kiss. Did he have to ask that now? Should I tell him the truth that I kissed a stranger or ignore it?
