The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 185 - Stop It

He was completely flummoxed by the way Leena was addressing him. Rusk? She is calling him a dry biscuit? He had confidence that his brother would have spoken highly of him and that's the reason, seconds back, he was gloating about himself but now his self-esteem has been crushed to the lowest honorable part when he heard her call him rusk or biscuit whatever.

Harley broke out into a giggle watching Adney's baffled expression on his face. Indeed it's his first time seeing Leena, so he might not have known her properly. He will get used to it in the future. She shook her head and left the place to give a little space to these fellows since it's their first time meeting.

"You are calling me a twice-baked biscuit? I am not approving you as my sister-in-law." Adney held back the screams of frustration. No one has ridiculed him except his hacker friend Elysian and now this annoying to be sister-in-law is trying to berate him. Should I hack into her computer or mobile and play a prank on her? The thought itself cackled him up. Just wait for a while, I will send one illicit video from your mobile to all your friends.

"Sorry, brother-in-law, I can't do anything about being your sister-in-law. If you have a problem, you can reach out to your brother." Leena was having fun teasing Adney, and to add fuel to the fire, she moved close towards him and whispered into his ears. "One more thing! I even heard you are a playboy. Nice to meet you. I am the coach for Playboys." Leena cracked her knuckles as if she is ready to punch him.

Adney glanced up and rolled his eyes befuddled. Who informed me about my playboy nature? So, she knows fully about me but still called me a rusk?

"If you keep rolling your eyes, you will eventually find your brain one day." Leena burst out into laughter watching his benumbed face.

Adney: " "

Adney didn't want to lose this time in front of her. After all, It's a matter of his pride. He has googled up her profile and got to know that she is named as a narcissist and her craziness is the talk of the city. Tit for tat."Even I heard a thing about you. I learned that you are a narcissist and for your narcissists, I am a psychiatrist."

Leena: " "

"Get lost, dirty fellow. I don't want to talk with you." Leena angrily rebuked. Who the hell has spread that news? Should I hack into his mobile and play a prank on him?

"Same feeling. I hate you." Adney stuck his tongue out and left the place in vexation.

Ignoring his childlike behavior, Leena glanced at her side and to her wonder, Devin was not sitting with the grandfather. She wanted to go and search for him but precisely then, Evelyn called her up for lunch.

"My last name is hungry," Arthur spoke up, appearing out of nowhere and stood in front of her.

"And my first name is always," Leena said, a light smile spread across her face.

"Wah! We complement each other even in food."The insanity of their personality made Arthur laugh.

" Indeed grandfather." Taking Leena's eager nod, Arthur began guiding her to the dining area. Since she was hungry, Leena ignored the idea to search for Devin thinking that he would be in the 'comfort room' enjoying his time. So, she went along with him to have her full.

She quickly followed the aroma of food and when they reached the dining area and watching the varieties of food sitting on the table, and the sight of the delicious smell, her mouth watered.

"You are here, Leena." Fredrick started. "Let's have lunch. Don't think that Eve has prepared all these foods. She is a lazy sloth after all."

"Can't you speak little good points at least in front of Leena?" Evelyn whacked her husband, with that both started fighting then and there.

"Don't mind them, Leena," Sharon smiled when she saw Leena momentarily occupied in Fredrick and Evelyn's arguments. "There is not a day, they would not fight. We are used to them now."

"They are cute." Watching their silly bantering, reminded her of Devin and her. Indeed they are worse than Fredrick and Evelyn back then. She was always giving him a cold shoulder but he was never got annoyed at her behavior. Leena was glad that he didn't give up on her. Like a fool, she laughed at herself for always having his thoughts at the back of her mind.

Sharon pulled a chair for Leena and just when she was about to sit next to her, she was pushed aside by someone. "That's my place, Sherry." Gritting her teeth, she threw an angry look before she settled next to her husband.

Hearing Devin's voice, Leena's eyes twinkled, and glanced at him with happy eyes that he has come back. But she didn't expect his incognizance. When he refused to look at her, she tugged his wrist, but Devin was stubborn, like a bolshie teenager removing the wrist from her tight grip. Instead, he looked at the food in front of him as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. He did not want to sit next to her not after she has been abandoning him for the whole day, but he was hapless when she saw her puppy eyes.

He surrendered for he can't win her over and when he was about to sit in the chair, Evelyn pushed him aside and slumped on the chair next to Leena.

"Eve," Devin screamed. She has been stealing his sweetheart from the morning. Can't she leave at least now?

"Go and sit next to your uncle. You will have Leena for yourself every day."

"Oh, God." Leena sighed under her breath. I am doomed today. He is going to get angry for sure once we go home. With puppy eyes, she looked at Devin, but then again, he vetoed to look at her and went to sit at the other end of the table.

Although Leena was eating, she couldn't help but take a guilty peek at Devin now and then. She tried to speak but he was rendering a cold shoulder.

With a sigh, Leena thought of pacifying him later and began concentrating on her food, she felt a feather-like rough yet warm touch on her feet.

Her eyes went wide and her breath caught in her throat. She knew who it was. Leena instantly glanced at him but he was eating as if nothing has happened. She thought it was a mistake when she no longer felt his feet and sighed in relief. Little did she know, it only started.

"You are not eating properly, Leena dear. Don't you like the food?" Eve asked when Leena's plate was left unattended. Didn't she like the food in the home?

"They are very...NOOO." Leena shouted at the top of her lungs when he harshly tugged her toe and his foot began moving higher skimming her legs sending shivers down her spine. She cursed at herself for wearing a dress that reached only her knees. But then again, isn't it impossible for Devin to lift. What the hell is this idiot doing?

"Oh! You don't like it?" Eve felt bad that she couldn't prepare food for Leena of her liking.

"I am sorry aunty. They are really good." Leena quickly explained when she saw the sullen face of Evelyn.

"Thank God. You like them." Eve was happy again when she saw genuine praise from Leena.

With a half-smile, she nodded her head. But her mind stopped racing and her pulse quickened when she felt his feet again. This time, it traveled further up caressing her soft thigh. Shameless fellow. Just because his legs are long, does he have to torture her? Leena was done with his antics when he started rubbing her thigh in circles. She dropped the spoon from her hands loudly and yelled. "Stop it. What the hell are you doing!" Her threat was directed towards him but it affected another person.

Evelyn stopped pouring soup into Leena's bowl hearing her yells. "I am sorry dear. I thought you liked the soup." When Leena has almost completed the soup leaving the rest alone, Eve thought she liked it.

All of a sudden, Leena turned to her side and saw Evelyn's expression on her face, startled. Oh, God! I did not see this coming. Is he deliberately instigating it because his mom has occupied the chair?

"I am sorry aunty. I did not mean my words." Leena explained hastily.

"Are you not well, Leena. Your cheeks have turned red all of a sudden." Devin asked all innocent controlling his smile. With that everybody looked at Leena and true to Devin's words, she was not in the world.

"Are you not feeling well, Leena?" Fredrick asked when she was behaving a little off from the time she was sitting for dinner. Is she having a fever? but she was feeling fine back then.

"I_I have to go to the bathroom." She got up and immediately left the place not able to show her face.

"She doesn't know the way to_"

"I will help her mom." Devin got up and followed her.. Finally, he got his alone time and he has things to settle with her now.
