The Devil's Sweetheart

Everything seemed to be a mess of puzzle when Devin couldn't connect the dots. Every lock has a key but to find the key, he needed to figure out the truth with a little patience.

Strolling out of the bathroom, he hastily made a call to Leah, and right when the call got connected, even before she could speak, Devin suspended her thoughts and articulated stressing each of his words brassily.

"Listen carefully, Leah! Until unless I give a cue, do not let Leena out of her room! I repeat, do not let her out of the room! did I make myself clear?" Devin enunciated each sentence so that she could comprehend the weight of his words.

"W_hat's wrong with you suddenly and what about my skin care_"

"Screw with your skincare products!" His voice was like an echo in the empty voice when he yelled.

Suddenly when Devin realized he lost the composure, he spoke up a little quietly trying to sound normal.

"I will send them through Drew and you, keep my words in your mind."

"I_ ok." Leah flinched at the sting of his words. It was not the first time Devin lost his temper but Leah felt he is more vexed compared to the times before.

When Leah ensured that there would be no mishaps in confining Leena to her room until he gives an indication, Devin ended the call and dialed Andrew's number, and demanded his presence in his room right away to deliver a package to Leah's room. He wanted Leena to get connected with as many people as possible now, else there is a chance that she would come back to the room. That is the last thing Devin wanted right now. He needs to figure out the fact of the matter first and to tell her the truth or not, he would decide it later.

After delivering the package, Drew got settled with Leena and Leah seizing the chance to escape from his mortal enemy.

Right after sending the package, Devin dialed Austin's number. Instead of relying on his intuition alone, Devin wanted to find if whatever he is assuming is right or his mere speculation.

"Ahoy Matey! You are calling up even if we are staying in the same_"

"I have no time listening to your nonsense!" Devin ceased Austin's words irresolutely. "Get your ass out of the house and cut down the power supply and also the backup. Right now." His thunderous aura made Austin twitch when Devin's voice revolted like a rising storm into his ears.

"What?" Austin continued. "Are you crazy? There are many guests and relatives in the house. Everyone would freak out if there is a sudden power cut. How can I_"

"Cut your crap, Austin, and do what I said. Right now!" His voice had a rough edge when he spoke with audacity.

"I_ all right. I will do it right away." Before Austin could cut the call, Devin talked back.

"Make sure everybody believes that it's not a deliberate attempt," Devin alleged, he doesn't want to alert the intruder in case if the person is one lurking in the house.

"Did something happen Vincy?" Austin asked. He was getting second thoughts with the way Devin was behaving now when he seemed to be fine earlier. What made him lose the composure all of a sudden? Austin wondered.

"Let's talk about that later." Devin instantly cut the call before Austin could bug him and waited for the power break down and shortly the lights went bleak in the entire house. Even after, Devin did not enter the bathroom instantly, for it would sound skeptical. Anything that would raise a suspicion would only alert them. Devin was glad that he didn't find anything suspicious thing in their living rooms.

After waiting for a while, Devin leisurely walked into the bathroom. Despite he was fuming inside, he was putting a good stunt to keep up his vexed tenor.

The sun has already gone down and with the added power out, it was pitch black when Devin entered the bathroom except that his eyes could spot three LED light casting a shadow on the floor which were blinking even under the low light conditions.

It was a confirmation that spy cameras are indeed installed.

How cheap they could get to put a spy camera in the bathroom and when a girl is involved in it? He was disgusted by the sick thought itself.

He knew LED around the camera lens will turn on automatically so that they could produce night vision images clearly and that is the reason he asked Austin to cut down the power. He could have used other methods but that would be evident and alert the person behind this if they are lurking in the house.

To sound it obvious that he is in the bathroom for a business, he casually switched on the mobile flashlight, but his eyes were scampering nook and cranny everywhere the red beam light was focusing and he soon found the positions. One was in a power supply wall socket, another in a small pot plant which was sitting in a rack, and one more was in a smoke detector. If Leena had the habit of using a hairdryer, she would have found out while plugging into the pocket at least. But the possibility was also worn out. Rage churned inside him throbbing like a drumbeat with disgust. Which sick bastard is behind it?

Smoking with anger, Devin left the room and sat on the edge of the bed to process the things he has witnessed just now. All the time, only one thing was running in his mind constantly. Leena!

Three hidden spy camera was fitted in the bathroom which would have recorded every move of them if he is not wrong. Devin didn't care about him, but her alone! He knew how painful it would become to accept, if Leena gets to know the bottom of the truth, after all, it's her dignity in question. After spending time with her, he realized her personality. She lives by, Death with dignity is better than life with humiliation and he did not dare to imagine if the video goes out viral.

There is a high chance to detect if the camera is fitted in the living but they cleverly inserted in the bathroom to ruin their images. There was one thing he still had to find the answers. Who is their target? Him or her?

His hands itched to bring the downfall of the person behind this.

Until unless the culprit is found, he has to patiently wait and let them be at the winning end, and only when they let their guards down, he could catch them red-handed. The only advantage Devin has, the person behind this might have not yet figured out that Devin has already known the truth.

When Devin was thinking of the possible causes, a person stuck him when he recalled a man has come out of their room yesterday. Were the spy cameras implanted yesterday or it was way before that?

"Whatever it is, I should make sure Leena should not enter the bathroom at least from now."
