The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 873 - Back In

'Is there any way to confirm what kind of bloodline it might have?'

'Not unless blood can be drawn for a detailed DNA analysis. There is a 71% chance to identify it that way and if not then narrow down its bloodline origins at the very least by eliminating the obvious denominators. Have there been any new developments regarding the egg? Anything could be useful.'

Hao Xuan thought about it for a moment and nothing special came to mind at first but then he remembered the flames.

'There were blue flames. I'm pretty sure they weren't from the Hive Queen so it has to be the other one. They came out of the egg and didn't feel too hot. Somehow they took shape of a hand and pulled me inside the egg.'

'Hmm. That does narrow down the potential species.

1. Extremely high-level flame affinity at birth allowing for precise control without harming others would suggest something along the lines of an elemental but they aren't born via eggs.

2. By not injuring you it can detect your existence and infer by the soul connection that you are not to be harmed even before birth, which would mean extremely high EQ.

3. By-'

Hao Xuan cut in before Baracus could go any lower on the list, 'You don't have to give me each and every reason. Just tell me what can you narrow it down to.'

'Eighty-seven approximate matches found. The lowest one is Class A while the highest is unclassified. The full list is available if you wish to go through it.'

'Nah, 87 is still too much. I'll just wait then. Is there anything I can do maybe help it along?'

'Since it has a flame affinity, why not look for the soul cores for beasts with the same affinity? A flame elemental would be even better.'

'That easier said than done but I'll keep an eye out. Right now I have to reach that fucking gathering place. I don't know why those assholes chose this location.'

Hao Xuan turned off the connection with Baracus and looked at the map one more time. It didn't show anything on the ground, just a straight line going to the coordinates.

He went over the plan of action to calm his nerves and added another section in case something went wrong.

'Alright, it shouldn't be too bad for the moment I think. I have the Orcs with me right now. If things get too out of hand I can also summon either the Scorpion King or the Prince for backup since summoning both would put too much pressure on me. If even that doesn't help then I can escape through the webway as a last resort.'

Hao Xuan sucked in his breath quickly before letting it escape in a deep sigh. If only he had more time and resources to spend on himself then almost all the other problems could be easily resolved.

Increasing the bloodline purity of his severs and then taking their abilities and increasing his own cultivation level being at the top of the list. He was almost at the top of the Spirit realm and could now feel the very real limits of his cultivation.

Breaking through to the Profound realm would unlock most of his abilities and free him from such stringent limitations as those related to his constitution.

'I have to start using the Chaos law much more so when I breakthrough it's on a higher tier. As for the other ones, it feels like both the chaos flames and lighting are at the same tier so it could be any one of them.'

Hao Xuan closed his eyes and adjusted his inner self while bracing for the pain.

'Baracus, start it.'

'Affirmative.'

With Baracus's guidance the nanites coursed Hao Xuan's blood and reached his arms and shoulders. They attached to the bones and one by one the Prime Letters were once again engraved on the surface.

Hao Xuan grit his teeth. The pain really was nothing to scoff at but at least he knew what to expect now and could prepare himself. It only took 3-4 minutes for all 24 letters to be imprinted on his skeleton.

He let out a breath of relief when it finished and without wasting any more time sat down right then and there cross-legged. He clasped his hands which completed the 'circuit' and activated the Celestial gateway through which his consciousness swiftly entered back into the webway.

It felt like he had jumped headfirst into an icy lake but the sensation wasn't overpowering and actually helped calm him down to a great degree, despite the fiery visuals.

Hao Xuan navigated the neverending corridors of the webway which connected all the realms of creation together. He was only looking for a safe place this time so he didn't have to look for very long.

A world devoid of any life came into view. No flora or fauna could be found on its surface but there was a breathable atmosphere, strangely enough.

There were no other celestial bodies in the sky, not even a sun so Hao Xuan assumed and rightly so that this world was floating through the far void. He looked around a little bit before deciding on it.

'It doesn't seem dangerous and since we would only have to stay for a few minutes at most, it should be fine,' he concluded inwardly.
