The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 450 - Bulk Purchase

"Are the humans you picked up from this planet for sale yet?" Hao Xuan asked casually while he browsed the slave section of the 'store'.

On the first page alone were more than 150 different species for sale. From humans and beasts to all kinds of other alien species. In front of each species was the price and time for delivery if he placed an order right now.

The earliest slave he would be able to get would take at least 6 months if transported from the nearest storage facility, or if he wanted instant delivery it could happen within a few hours but the cost would be about 20 times their original price.

They would probably open a portal and directly send the slaves over for the second option.

The trader who was standing on the other side somewhat depressed instantly brightened up.

"Yes, of course, everything is for sale! It would be best if we could sell them on the planet!"

The cost of transportation and the risks involved were too much. They didn't even come here for capturing slaves and were very poorly equipped. If he could sell them right here and now he would be able to make a huge profit.

"Hmm..." Hao Xuan mumbled something under his breath that the trader could not hear properly.

Instead of making an offer, Hao Xuan decided to browse the store to see the actual worth of these few credits he had on him.

In the slave auction section, he clicked on the blinking red characters that spelled out "War Beasts". A new screen opened up which listed a few names and some descriptions in front of them. All of them were slightly blacked out, indicating that Hao Xuan was not able to purchase them but he could still see their details, at least of the ones up to tier 5.

War Beasts, as the names suggested, were creatures born and raised for the sole purpose of war. They would have different uses and abilities. Some were used to protect places, some used to attack. Some had special abilities that could disable or destroy barriers and some that were able to kill em mass.

All of the listed had terrible powers. One that stood out from the rest was called an Unstoppable Ogre. It had the highest price at 7,500 credits for a single one of them. It's description read:

"Immune to all elemental attacks, it can only be harmed with brute force or laws that are able to do internal damage. Armed with one giant eye on its forehead, it can fire a focused laser beam that is able to cut through normal barriers with ease. Especially effective against lurkers and assassin types."

There was a picture next to it as well which showed an ugly humanoid creature standing straight on two limbs. It was 7 meters tall and 4 meters wide, weighing 40 tonnes. Where its head should have been was a massive white pustule with many outgrowths. It had no orifices at all.

'Is this the 'eye' the description mentioned? Where the fuck is the forehead?' Hao Xuan thought internally.

He went down the list and saw many other War Beasts. Some were shaped like whales, dogs etc but the Unstoppable Ogre was the second smallest one here. The smallest War Beast was only 1.5 feet tall. It looked like a toy plushie.

There was no description or name written for it, only price, which was 5,000 credits exactly.

Hao Xuan's brows knitted in confusion, 'What the hell is this thing?'

It was light blue and furry, something out of a children's cartoon. yet here it was in the "War Beasts" section...

Giving it a couple of looks, he went back and into some of the other sections.

It seemed like these 5,000 credits weren't such a small amount. If it was back on earth, it would be equal to him having 5 million dollars worth of spending money.

He scrolled to slaves that were Spirit realm equivalent cultivators and warriors. Most of them cost only about 50 to 100 credits while those with lower cultivation were for as low as five for only 1 credit.

Those with specialized bloodlines were around 300 to 700 credits and Profound Realm slaves were only around 400 credits. There were no Profound realm slaves with special bloodlines for sale.

"I don't see the ones captured from here..." Hao Xuan commented.

The trader stepped forward while rubbing his hands.

"You see esteemed customer, we didn't have time to process them yet, so technically they haven't entered the system. If sir wants to buy in bulk, I can give you a discount," he said sheepishly.

Hao Xuan didn't even have to see his face to know he was smiling ear to ear.

'This asshole, he's trying to sell them off the record so he can keep all the credits...' Hao Xuan understood at once.

"Yeah whatever, I'll buy whichever ones you still have left alive. And I have to order a few other things as well so give me a good price," he said handing the glass panel back to him.

"Of course sir, of course! Would you like to see them right now?"

Hao Xuan looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "They're here? All of them?"

The trader shook his head, "Not all of them, but we can bring them over within the hour."

"Alright, do it," Hao Xuan waved his hand stood up.
