The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 380 - Guo Yang

For the next 2-3 hours, Cornelia explained everything cultivating the Soul center, its effects, abilities, and such while the 3 formations under him continued stabilizing his body and soul.

The one thing that caught Hao Xuan's eye was the part about the eyes.

"The eyes are the windows to your soul, meaning different colored eyes would imply there is something unique about the person's soul."

Perhaps that was why Hao Xuan had green eyes. Maybe it was because his soul was more powerful than others or maybe it was because of his Soul Severing Constitution but either way, there was a connection between the two.

About 1 more hour later Ryfon finally returned with the things Cornelia had asked for. She gave the materials to Hao Xuan and explained the situation right in front of him.

"He is much better now but still needs help with a few things. Take him to your alchemist friend, the best one you can find, and have him make something with the items you brought and a few others alchemists carry around, I gave Hao Xuan the full list," at this point, her voice suddenly trailed off and she looked away, pretending to read something on a blank screen.

"A-Also, I already messaged 'him' so he will be expecting you in the Consulate, don't make him wait too long..."

From 15 meters away Hao Xuan was able to feel Cornelia's body temperature rising and her face turning beet red. It was certainly the first time this had happened, perhaps due to the recent developments with his body.

'Her man again...?'

Ryfon also saw her odd behavior and smiled knowingly.

"Alright, we'll be on our way then," he winked at Hao Xuan and left with him and Ensis in seconds. Ensis had been standing completely silently in a corner, watching everything like a statue. Even Hao Xuan himself forgot about him for a bit.

They made their way back the way they had come from, passing through the club once again.

When they came in it was around 3-4 p.m and now it was past 10 but inside the club, the time didn't seem to change at all.

Now that Hao Xuan was feeling much better and the migraine was taken care of, for the time being at least, he stopped at the ledge overlooking the entire club and took a more detailed look around.

The building they were in seemed to have hundreds of floors but only the first 10 were used as the clubhouse. Each floor housed people of different types with most prince and princesses being at or above the 5th floor from the looks of it.

The last 2 floors had a lot fewer people and most of them were different types of Elves and Fairies. There were even a few from the Wu clan, standing out from the crowd with their pale complexions, haughty attitudes, and the two circular marks around their noses.

"Does this place ever stop?" Hao Xuan asked seeing as soon as someone left, several others took their place. Ryfon came up next to him and waved at a few people below.

"Never. This place was opened more than two thousand years ago and it has never closed once since then."

"Two thousand years?!" the answer was out of Hao Xuan's expectations. It was even older than many of the lower-ranked kingdoms.

"I told you we have long lifespans. This isn't that rare."

'Long lifespans??'

When Hao Xuan heard that, he remembered several questions that he wanted to ask before. He had heard Ryfon and Cornelia talking and a few times they had mentioned something being this.

"How old are you people exactly?" he finally asked, to satisfy his own curiosity more than anything.

Ryfon's expression turned blank for a second but then he started counted on his fingers and came up with an answer a few seconds later.

"Hmm, I think I will be equal to a 21-year-old human soon."

Hao Xuan looked at him suspiciously.

'Why did he word it like that?'

"And what about in actual years?"

"Well," he smiled awkwardly, "I will be 315 this year."

Hao Xuan who was getting ready to let out a joke or two about his age suddenly froze. Ryfon looked even younger than Hao Xuan himself from the outside.

"3-315?! Wait, are all you guys this old?! What about Cornelia? And Wu Jin? How old is that fucker?!"

"Don't tell Cornelia I told you her actual age or she will turn me into a cat again but...she is about 322. Wu Jin isn't that old though. He will be 260 years old this year. But that kid always acts so mature and never enjoys himself. I keep telling him...."

Ryfon continued talking but Hao Xuan had long blanked out.

'This world, I don't understand it...'

For someone like Hao Xuan, living even a hundred years was a big deal regardless of what everyone said. He came from earth where the life expectancy was 70 on average.

"Nevermind, let's go," Dejected and confused, Hao Xuan shook his head and started walking towards the exit by himself. Ryfon who was busy talking to himself realized there was no one next to him a minute later and followed after as well.

Hao Xuan was already sitting in the carriage like it was his own when Ryfon arrived.

"Take me to your alchemist friend. And I need a blacksmith too, a good one. Also..."

He gave him his own list of things he wanted to get done while he was here. Since he had the ear of a royal prince, why not make full use of it?

"Yeah, no problem. I will get it done, whatever you need," Ryfon agreed to all his demands without any objection whatsoever.

Hao Xuan looked at him in a new light now.

'He must really care about his sister and niece...'

"Oh, before I forget. Who is this person Cornelia was talking about? The one in the consulate?"

"Oh, his name is Guo Yang.. He is Cornelia's fiance and the Temple of Dius's youngest Holy Son."
