The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 294 - Entrant

The war had started once again. But this time both Mei and the Jia Kingdom came to an agreement.

The Great Generals from both sides had been the same for over 500 years. Any new talents either went to the higher-ranked Kingdoms and Empires or simply joined other powers all together.

So to give the current generation of youngsters a reason to fight other than the obvious one, they decided that only the ones below the Profound Realm would take to the fields and the winners be trained to take over the positions of the current great generals.

Another reason for this was that both the kingdoms also had other enemies than themselves so they could never truly go all out.

This way they could keep the main forces in reserve while gaining potentially new geniuses.

This would not only reduce the overall damages but also give the youngsters proper training which they badly needed, or so they thought.

The only problem was that they had vastly underestimated the 'prowess' and the bloodthirsty nature of these young heroes.

The biggest and the brightest example of this were Wu Chin, Cia Kang, and Jia Tu from the Jia's side, and Guo Bao and Dong Ning from the Mei's side.

In a span of 1 month, they had more than a dozen encounters in total. Each one bloodier than the last.

Guo Bao of the Flying Tigers and Dong Ning of the Spearheads seemed to be on the losing side as they were always outnumbered and had to make hasty retreats every time, that is until the balance shifted because of a new entrant.

There were about 1500 soldiers engaged in bloody combat. They were divided into three sides, two of them working together to fight the other.

Explosions of colorful Qi erupted every now and then, reaping lives like they were nothing.

Breathtakingly beautiful and dangerous attacks could be seen coming from every single direction.

Sword energies, Saber energies, Spear energies, Claw energies, arrows made of Qi, whatever energy one could imagine could be found here.

About a kilometers away on top of a lonely hill overseeing the bloody battlefield stood a four-armed giant. His ears twitched as he turned to the left and his complexion paled in an instant.

"Careful! It's the-" loudly shouted the Jia soldier but before his voice could reach the intended party a black shadow flew out from the nearby treeline and decapitated him in one strike.

The shadow slowly materialized into a handsome man that looked to be around 28 at most.

He surveyed the battlefield underneath with cold eyes before looking away. The black sword in his hand disintegrated and vanished like smoke.

His lips slightly parted as he murmured to himself, "Rejoice, for you get to taste my king's blade."

*Vrrr*

Some loose debris started shaking before rising a few centimeters above the ground. All 1500+ soldiers paused and looked around at the strange phenomenon. They could feel themselves getting lighter, some of the smaller ones even managing to jump several meters with just a light tap.

In the middle of the battlefield were three figures clashing with one another repeatedly. They were the only ones that had not stopped even once.

One of them was a half-naked man that was without a shirt. On his back was a tattoo that was glowing with a red light. The tattoo was of a white tiger and it seemed to be alive as it occasionally moved around.

He was unarmed but his fingers looked exactly like the claws of a tiger, sharp and deadly. This was, of course, Guo Bao.

One of the two facing him was a 5 meter tall Jia soldier with a hammer in each of his four hands. Each hammer was at least 2 meters long and was on fire. This was Jia Tu, the genius from the Royal Clan of Jia itself.

The other one was a small pale white man with dual daggers. The daggers weren't made out of metals but were shaped from some kind of a bone, probably from a powerful beast.

They exuded a yellowish smoke which could make a person sick from a dozen meters away.

This man was Lu Qiu, someone trained by the Jia clan.

Guo Bao and Jia Tu were fighting head-on, clashing with their burly bodies while Lu Qiu would sneak attack whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Guo Bao pushed Jia Tu back and looked at the ground.

'He's late!' thinking to himself. Still, he did not let it show and continued hurling insults at due in front.

"You sniveling b*stards! Fight me fairly and we'll see who wins!" he shouted before throwing a punch to his left. Lu Qiu who was behind him twisted his body in a 90-degree angle and avoided the strike before backing away with a sheepish smile.

The debris that was floating suddenly fell with such force that it created a small shockwave.

"Ahh!"

*Clang*

*Clack*

*Thump*

The pressure suddenly increased and it felt like the gravity had quadrupled. Those that were unprepared fell down to their knees while many couldn't even hold on to their weapons.

It was only the men belonging to the Guo Bao's army that could still move around normally.

Jia Tu snapped his head to the side and looked outwards with squinted eyes.

*Rumbleeee~*

The ground started shaking heavily as the sound of footsteps rang loudly in the now silent battlefield.

The forests parted like the red sea as the trees were uprooted and from the left and right two cavalries came into view.

They rode on many different beasts, each one different than the other. The only similarity was the mask adorning the rider's faces.

Horned red masks stared at the faces of the dazed soldiers until someone finally shouted.

"THE MAD SAINTS!"

As if waiting for this announcement the cavalries picked up their speed and ran straight into them. The soldiers tried to move away but the increased force of gravity greatly slowed their movements.

"FOOLS! Circulate your Qi! Cover yourselves in it!" shouted Jia Tu when he saw his men getting slaughtered.

He stretched his neck and looked around for that damned figure, the one responsible for all this, but he was not the one leading the charge.

"But...where?" he looked left and right in panic, stopping only when he heard someone speaking from his left.

"Assault of the Mad God!"

Without even looking at the source he moved all four of his hammers to the left in a bid to block the incoming attack, and the next second he felt it. The hammers weren't enough to block this force.

And instead, this entire 18 feet tall giant was lifted up from the ground with brute force and sent shooting up into the air.

But he was still an experienced soldier and didn't lose his cool. Instead, he forcefully turned his body in mid-air and using the momentum of the earlier attack he landed several dozen meters away with wobbly feet.

He turned around and looked at the man responsible for the attack. His arms were swollen to twice their normal size and his body was covered in lean muscles.

It was hard to believe that a human half his size was able to do that to him. Rather than a human, it wouldn't be strange if he was told that the man in front of him was some kind of a beast in human form.

He got up and wiped the trail of blood from the side of his mouth.

"Mad Saint, you live up to your reputation."
