The Dawn of the New World

Chapter 240 - Attack Part 3

10 minutes after Bo returned to the camp, Hao Xuan got his message.

"I'm with them!"

A somewhat cold smile appeared on his face upon reading the message.

"We're good to go," he told First who was right next to him.

"Mhm, let's go!"

Du Xun was the first one to enter the followed by First, Hao Xuan, and everyone else.

Du Xun squinted his eyes looking at the 'camp' that was much much bigger than what it appeared to be from outside. It had several different floors connected to one another through what seemed like a type of gigantic fungus, with a few dozen beasts on each floor.

He surveyed the surroundings for a few seconds before looking straight up. His eyes locking on to the very top of the tree.

"Found you," he whispered lightly with a half-smile and shot straight up into the air with his scythe. Instead of using the stairs, he literally cut through each floor, leaving giant holes in his wake.

As soon as Hao Xuan stepped into the tree trunk, a pungent smell like that of old socks hit him head-on. Using Qi to block his nostril, he didn't waste any time either and ran straight towards Bo who was about 7 floors up.

Within a few seconds, hundreds upon hundreds of humans clad in masks and black and red uniforms rushed into the tree.

"WE'RE UNDER ATTA-!" a loud voice came from the top of tree alerting every beast, but it was cut off before it could finish the sentence. A muffled boom resonated throughout the entire camp as the top completely blew open.

"FILTHY HUMAN!"

"Haha, come on now, no need for name-calling. Let's keep this civil!"

Hao Xuan dodged some of the falling debris and looked up. He could see two figures clashing with one another continuously. One of them belonged to Du Xun, while the other was a 20-meter tall imp-like creature. No, calling it a gnome would be more accurate, only it wasn't so short and cute as the name implied.

Its arms were thicker than Hao Xuan's entire waist, and it was using its bare hands to go against Du Xun who was armed with a scythe.

Hao Xuan ignored the battle going on above him and focused on making his way through the plethora of enemies blocking his path. There were two very distinct masses of bodies clashing with one another over and over again on the third floor.

Monsters kept pouring down the stairs like a leaky faucet while human soldiers kept pushing them back up. Some of the beasts were even using human weapons like swords, spears, and hammers.

Hao Xuan was at the forefront of the battle along with all the Spirit realm experts.

After training with the trio serving under First, his control and use of different energies had become much more efficient and flexible. He was now able to use a small part of these energies without any sort of conduit.

Every now and then he would use Force energy to push beasts away or bring them closer to him whenever he was attacking. It was similar to the scenes from some of the science fiction movies from earth.

He used Force to interrupt enemy attacks while swinging his massive blade left and right, sometimes even twirling it around in the air like a baton. The more he used the glaive the better he felt. It felt like his connection to the glaive was becoming more and more solid. There were moments where he felt like the glaive was alive and breathing.

The Emperors Qi did its job as well by reducing the overall power of his opponents or even making them falter if they were weak-willed.

He stood out even among higher realmed cultivators because of his superior use of Energies and splendid weapon movements.

Every time his Glaive moved, a corpse fell to the ground without exception. There were no unnecessary movements at all. All that hellish training of more than a week straight finally showed its result.

He moved in between these beasts like a butcher, cleaving heads and other body parts with every swing. Whenever the beasts rushed him he would slam the glaive down on to the ground, sending out shockwaves of Force energy like an earthquake.

There was no resistance at all, especially when there were more than 8 Spirit realm experts right beside him.

Within a few minutes, they reached the 7th floor.

"Go, clear up the rest," Hao Xuan ordered everyone beside him. And since he was the second-in-command after First, it was completely natural.

They all kept pushing the beasts back higher and higher, while Hao Xuan himself went towards a wooden structure. He could feel Bo in there.

"It's me," he shouted before cutting open the door. All the formations around the structure were already disabled so there was nothing to stop him.

The front door fell down and Hao Xuan could see three figures on the other side.

Bo was already bowing at the waist while Third and Fourth sitting on two chairs beside him. There were about 3-4 beast corpses around the room as well.

"Third Brother! Fourth Brother! Are you okay??" Hao Xuan exclaimed and ran in upon seeing their conditions.

There were numerous small to medium-sized cuts and bruises on their bodies. Third even had half of his fingernails missing. He lifted his head weakly and looked at Hao Xuan with a smile that made some of his facial wounds bleed.

"Ah, what took you so long..."

"Brother...."

Fourth was already passed out beside him. Hao Xuan checked his pulse and his expression hardened like stone.

"MEDIC! GET THE F*CK IN HERE RIGHT NOW!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.

A few seconds later several people ran in and started treating Third and Fourth.

Hao Xuan's expression was ice cold as he looked at them being carried out on stretchers.

"Who? Who did this?" he spoke in a deep tone.

Bo who was standing behind him shivered from head to toe.

"I-It was the anteaters master, it's their hobby," he replied with a trembling voice. He could feel how angry Hao Xuan was right now.

"Hmm.. When is the Wu clan party getting here? I want to repay the favor."
