The Cursed Prince

Chapter 388 - Emmelyn's Dream (2)

Emmelyn wanted to call the girl to look in her direction, but she couldn't let out any sound. As if her throat was choked and she couldn't speak.

She looked around her and realized she was in a strange place. Was she... in Myreen?

Was this the mysterious kingdom where the Leoraleis resided?

So... who was that beautiful woman she just saw? Was she a Leoralei?

Emmelyn didn't know what to think. She regretted her delay in understanding what happened.

If she had realized sooner that the woman was a Leoralei, she would have forcefully grabbed her and asked the woman to free her from the curse, or at least asked her to let Emmelyn know who could.

Emmelyn would also demand an answer as to why she was unjustly punished for a crime she didn't do.

Unfortunately, the woman was gone and Emmelyn couldn't do anything to make her appear again.

Okay, then, there was no other way. Emmelyn must come down from this tower and find that girl.  She should still be in the garden.

If Emmelyn ran quickly, she would get to her before she went somewhere else.

With that thought in mind, Emmelyn dashed toward the door and opened it to find ways to leave the room.

However...

When she opened the door, she instead entered a new chamber. This time, she recognized the room.

It was the chamber she shared with Mars in his castle. Was she back in the capital? She was wondering.

Oh...

Emmelyn's heart skipped a beat when he saw a baby in the middle of the room, sleeping peacefully in a beautiful crib.

Was that Harlow?

Tears flowed profusely from Emmelyn's eyes as she walked closer to see Harlow better.

Gosh.. in three weeks, her baby's appearance had changed a lot. She was no longer wrinkled as what Emmelyn remembered.

Harlow was still very small, but overall, she looked healthier.  Lily seemed to be doing a good job taking care of Harlow.

Emmelyn felt so indebted to that woman that she vowed, no matter what, she would make sure she would pay back her debt to Lily Greenan, even if she had to sacrifice her life.

Before Emmelyn could touch Harlow's cheek, suddenly she heard sounds from outside. Emmelyn went stiff before she tried to hide.

What if it was bad people?  She must be careful not to be seen.

However, before she could decide where to hide, the door was opened and entered Roshan, the butler who had betrayed her.

The middle-aged man stepped lightly as if trying not to make a sound. From this gesture alone Emmelyn could guess that the man had a bad intention.

What was he trying to do?

Emmelyn stepped back and watched what the butler wanted to do. It seemed, Roshan didn't see her. Was it because this was a dream?

Wait.. what was he trying to do....???

"HEY!! WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO, BASTARD?!!!" Emmelyn quickly shouted at the man.

She had seen Roshan went to the bed and took a pillow from it. Then, he walked closer to the crib. Roshan raised the pillow and got ready to smother the small baby who was sleeping peacefully in the crib.

"I am sorry, little princess... it looks like you have to die..." Roshan muttered to himself as he lowered the pillow over Harlow's tiny face.

"BASTARD!!!! HOW DARE YOU! HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!!!"

Emmelyn jumped and ambushed the man, but before she could touch him, she woke up in cold sweat. Mrs. Adler quickly came to her side, bringing her a cup of water.

"Your Highness, you have a nightmare again," she said with a concerned voice.

"My baby... " Emmelyn cried despondently. "They are going to kill my baby."

The old witch held her breath in a panic when she heard Emmelyn's words. However, she tried to stay calm, so as not to add to Emmelyn's worry. She touched the princess's arm and help her drink water.

"Please drink first and we can talk about what you saw..." she said gently. "Tell me what you saw."

Emmelyn took the water and drink it in one go. She gripped Mrs. Adler's hand and said, "I have to go home and kill that fucking bastard!"

"Who....?" Mrs. Adler looked at Emmelyn intently. She could see in her bloodshot eyes, there was a strong intent to kill. She remembered how Emmelyn looked distraught when she arrived in Bydell village after she killed a thug.

Taking someone's life for the first time was a traumatic experience for anyone, and Emmelyn was no exception. However, Mrs. Adler could see now the princess' eyes were filled with the fire of revenge.

She was not distraught by the possibility that she had to kill someone. She was more distraught by the fact that her child was in danger.

"Roshan... that butler who betrayed me.. I saw him trying to kill Harlow by smothering her with a pillow," said Emmelyn between her panting breath.

"But it's only a dream, Your Highness..." said the old witch. "We both know that Princess Harlow is safe with the Greenans. I think this dream has been haunting you because you keep thinking about her. Usually, if we thought about something too much, they would find a way to enter our dreams."

Emmelyn shook her head. "No, it's not like that. I think this is a sign or a warning of what would happen if I don't take action. Before I saw Roshan trying to kill Harlow, I saw a place that I have never seen before and people I've never met. How could I think about them too much that they enter my dream? This doesn't make sense..."

"Oh... tell me what you saw, Your Highness. Who are the people you saw in your dream?" Mrs. Adler asked attentively.

She was a seer and was used to getting visions about the future or something which Emmelyn called a sign or warning. However, Emmelyn was not one. How could Emmelyn see places she had never been to?

"I think.. I saw Myreen in my dream.. and a Leoralei..." said Emmelyn with a low voice. She closed her eyes and tried to remember everything she saw in her dream.

Slowly, she recounted everything that happened, from the moment she stepped inside the beautiful chamber in the blue tower, the foreign woman, and the girl in the garden.
