The Cursed King

Chapter 251 - Hunting Trip (2)

Elise realized how much she looked forward to waking up with Loriel beside her.

A part of her knew that it was still taking some time for Loriel to fully love her, but she was already so happy when the man did not contradict her words.

When Elise woke up, she was surprised by the sudden increase of maids around her chambers. There were so many of them prepared to serve her that she sent them outside.

Elise told Loriel that she was already happy and satisfied with Alina because Elise did not need a lot of help. However, because Loriel was going out for a trip, the man was hesitant with only leaving her with one main maid and brought a great number of maids to take care of Elise.

"He really shouldn't have done this," Elise pursed her lips.

There were now a lot of women doing their best to serve Elise, but somehow even though Elise knew she should appreciate Loriel for doing this… a small feeling of annoyance settled within her.

"Loriel doesn't really listen that much when I say one thing." Elise massaged her forehead. After the conversation they had about Loriel only doing the bare minimum, Elise's eyes were opened lightly and she realized that he was right.

There were things that Loriel did need to work on. The man always thought he was right for most of the time and sometimes Loriel did too much for her and thought she always needed help and assistance from him. Loriel already knew that Elise had powers, but the man barely batted an eye at it too!

A pout formed on Elise's lips as she strolled out of her chambers and was quickly greeted by several maids.

"Your Majesty, would you like to stay inside of the chambers?" One of the maids asked.

Elise raised a brow at the question before Alina quickly answered in her stead. "Her Majesty just stepped outside of her room and you're asking her if she wants to go back inside?"

Alina thought that she was the most competent maid and that was somewhat true.

"It is extremely hot right now, Your Majesty," another one of them said and took a new approach. "May I suggest for Her Majesty to remain within her chambers and instead enjoy a cool nice drink inside?"

Elise shook her head. "No. I do not wish to stay in my room, I need to go out and take care of the garden."

"Your Majesty, please, let me or the gardeners take care of them!" one of the maids said.

"Please do not raise your voice," Alina frowned. "You are talking to the queen of Summeria."

Elise looked at them and decided to be gracious. She said, "If the weather is extremely hot, it makes sense for me not to go out."

The climate in Myreen was always spring, but the summers here in Summeria were a bit intense. When Elise realized that, she wanted to conjure rain or cool winds for the plants so they wouldn't dry. If she simply allowed the gardeners to do their jobs, some of the flowers were bound to still end up dead.

"Do not worry about Her Majesty," Alina said in her defense and smiled. "I will be the one accompanying her in the garden."

The maid was proud at how capable the former princess of Myreen was and knew a lot of how powerful Elise was as she travelled outside of Myreen to find healing for her father. It was an honor for Alina to serve the queen.

Elise glanced at Alina and smiled. "Alina, you can stay here and take care of Brick for me. She can be lonely without me, so I entrust her with you."

Elise didn't know if the hot weather in Summeria was also making her own body feel hot and a little annoyed, but she actually wanted to be alone for a while.

The hormones during her pregnancy were really intense and she needed some time to be alone. Maybe it was also good that Loriel went away for a couple of days? There were times when it was too much for a couple to be together as well.

Before any of her maids protested, Elise quickly made her way out of the queen's residence and reached the gardens. The sun burned brightly and the heat was so intense that Elise started to perspire quickly.

"Uff, I need to cool this place," Elise clasped her hands together and closed her eyes. When she whistled a tune, the hot air around her was suddenly blown away as a cool and refreshing breeze entered the garden.

Elise smiled in satisfaction and entered her gardens. She eyed the Jacaranda trees and noticed that they were losing a bit of petals, and some of the leaves were actually becoming dry.

It wasn't the royal gardeners fault, because she knew that they were meticulous.

However there were some things that were still out of their reach. Compared to them, whenever Elise set out and stepped a foot in the garden, she quickly noticed how the plants were and whether or not they needed help.

Her last conversation with Dante discussed how she was related to the earth goddess and probably was blessed by her.

Elise deflected the compliment from the Time Master and did her best to be humble, but now that Elise was just with herself and no one else was looking… She was unafraid to admit that she found joy in magic.

It was one of the things that weren't actually necessary to be a good wife, but it was something that was part of Elise's nature and she relished it very much.

Without her husband and without her maids, it meant that Elise could actually not hold back from using her powers. Elise touched her stomach and smiled happily.

"My child, look at how the trees and the flowers bloom and the winds sing because they're so happy that you are here," she whispered as she waved her hands slightly and smiled to herself.

Sprouts popped up on the ground and more flowers started to bloom around the queen.. She was now surrounded by colorful floras. The garden around her was so beautiful and colorful!
