The Beautiful Monster

Chapter 60 - All Alone

Alyssa reached up to grab the back of his neck, holding him close as their lips slotted together perfectly.

She closed her eyes, focusing on how good he tasted. She could kiss him forever if she had the choice to.

Elias cupped her cheek before moving to press her up against the side of his car.

His other hand roamed up her side as the world seemed to fall away around them. It was just them and no one else.

Alyssa could feel any sense of control she had start to burn away as his hands and lips graced her body.

It was so easy to fall into the sensations, to let them consume her whole. She felt that familiar feeling of his teeth tugging on her bottom lip. He knew that drove her crazy.

"You're making it very hard for me to leave," Elias murmured against her lips. His hands grabbed her hips, pulling them against his as they tangled together against his car.

Alyssa smiled as she curled her arms around his neck.

"Maybe that's the point," she replied as she opened her eyes to gaze at him. She felt like a teenager making out with him in a parking lot. She felt like she was catching up on all of the experiences she should've had by now at this age.

Elias chuckled before teasingly kissing her neck. He leaned near her ear.

"Just wait until I get back from break," he told her.

Alyssa nearly shuddered at the whisper. She could only imagine what he planned to do. Now, that would be all that she would be able to think about until he got back. He was determined to torture her before he left.

"You're cruel," she said as they wrapped their arms around each other. They were both having trouble letting go and parting ways.

"No, I'm not," Elias smirked.

Alyssa sighed, knowing he was right. He was the kindest person she had ever come to know.

"I hope you have a good time with your family," she told him. She knew that his relationship with them wasn't the absolute best, but it was better than hers.

He could stomach going back home and seeing them for the holiday.

"As much as I can," Elias replied as he brushed his fingers through her hair. "I'm sorry you have to stay here by yourself."

Alyssa shrugged, not wanting him to worry about her. She was a bit bummed, but it was better than going home and dealing with her parents.

"I'll be able to get some good studying done," she told him, which was true. She was going to make sure that she knew everything for her exams so that she didn't have to worry about her grades or her scholarship. She was intent on making up for those bad grades she had gotten.

"You better get something good to eat on Thanksgiving," Elias told her pointedly.

Alyssa laughed softly, finding it cute that he was worrying about such a small thing. She actually hadn't thought about what she was going to eat on Thanksgiving, but she was sure she'd figure something out.

It would probably depend on what she was craving that day, which could range from sushi to pizza.

"Maybe the cafeteria will have something," she replied. She didn't even know if they were going to be open or not, but she didn't want him to fret over her getting something to eat on Thanksgiving when he could be focused on visiting with his family.

"I'll text you when I can, okay?" Elias told her.

Alyssa knew that he had to leave now, which saddened her, but she forced herself to draw her arms away from him.

"Drive safe," she replied. Her eyes fluttered shut briefly as he pressed his lips against her forehead.

She stepped away from his car and watched him open his driver's side door to get into his car. She waved at him as he smiled at her through his window.

Elias gave her a wave before turning on his car and pulling out of the parking spot.

Alyssa watched him drive away, feeling her heart steadily grow heavier with each passing second.

Now, she was all alone. She used to be somewhat fine with being alone. She had gotten used to it.

Now, she had gotten spoiled by the company of her friends, so it was hard being without him. It was going to be a long week.

**********

When Thanksgiving arrived, Alyssa managed to exchange a few texts with Elias in the morning before he went radio silent. She suspected that he had to do family things.

As much as she wanted to sulk in bed that day, she forced herself to get up. She couldn't have such a bad attitude all the time when she was alone.

She pulled on a pair of leggings and a t-shirt, refusing to dress any fancier. Who was she dressing for? She brushed her hair and made herself look presentable before heading to the cafeteria to see what they had to eat.

Of course, the cafeteria was closed. Everything was closed on Thanksgiving. She had to look up what happened to be open, and the only places that were open that were close by were fast food places. That would have to do. It matched the energy of her week.

She had gotten some decent studying done, but it was so hard to be motivated. She kept thinking of her parents and how everyone else was having a good holiday with their families. She couldn't help but wallow a little in self pity. It just wasn't fair.

Then, she felt guilty about her feelings because other people had it worse. It was a rollercoaster of a week for her. Mentally.

On the outside, it was fairly slow and boring. She studied, ate fast food or whatever was leftover in her mini fridge, and texted Elias when he wasn't busy.

Alyssa actually couldn't wait for break to be over with. That was a bit crazy since that would mean going back to school and taking exams, but at least she wouldn't be all by herself.

She could go out and at least grab a coffee with someone instead of being holed up in her room by herself.
