The Ancient Genes

Chapter 634 - One After Another

Somewhere in Trinity…

"You sure have a lot of free time today?" James looked at Naze with calm eyes.

"Yeah, I do. And, what can be a better way to spend that time with anyone but you," Naze replied with a smile.

"Well, that's certainly new to me. I didn't know we were such good friends." James calmly looked at the guy sitting in front of him trying to figure out what he was here for. The two of them were definitely not friends.

James had framed Naze back in Arcane and destroyed his image. But, he didn't have thought in the least that the guy would return like this. Not to mention, the Naze was being treated very importantly by the Elders. So, even James couldn't mess with him.

But, it was true for Naze as well. He was a human and hence couldn't go overboard or else things wouldn't end well for him too. After all, public opinion mattered to a certain extent.

And, as for why Naze was treated with so much importance, no one knew. It was probably only known to a few among the Higher ups and the information wasn't passed down.

….

"Crackle!"

Wilson was rushing towards Warehouse Yard at full speed. There was a deep frown on his face, and he was really feeling tense. He had seen fire breaking out earlier in the distance, and that had only made him even more nervous.

'That girl...just what in hell was she thinking..'

Veins were popping up on Wilson's face at the mere thought of the event. He couldn't believe how dumbly she acted in that situation. Hell, she should have at least called him once.

"Hmmn?"

A frown suddenly emerged on Wilson's face as he felt a familiar energy closing in, and several people seemed to be chasing it. Soon, it all became very clear of Wilson as a Metal Wolf appeared in front of him. It seemed to be badly battered from all the attacks and had half of it's frame falling apart.

Wilson could immediately tell from the mana that the thing was a creation of Lear.

"Bang!"

A wind spell suddenly landed on the Metal Wolf and it's hind legs shattered into pieces as it crashed onto the ground spilling all pieces of junk apart. And, a mature lady fell out of it and rolled a distance before coming to a stop right at Wilson's feet.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

Several figures immediately appeared around Wilson and he was surrounded. And, from the killing intent that they were leaking with, it didn't seem he was going to get out of here easily.

'Not now…' He couldn't help but groan inwardly. He had no idea what was going on, and what this was all about.

But, one thing was clear. That the lady was someone whom he needed to protect. He could make that much at least.

<<What's going on? I found your junk Wolf with people chasing after it.>>

<<Lear: Sh*t! Protect it! That thing is carrying my mother. She has been poisoned. I am coming ASAP. Just hold on until I arrive.>>

<<Shut up! My Sister is in danger! I don't have time for this! I want you here at this instant!>>

<<Lear: What? I don't know what's going on with Erina. But, I will send Max after her. So, you just protect my mother. I am coming right now.>>

<<God damnit! Hurry up! And ask Max to go to Warehouse Yard and contact Axel. He is there with my sister.>>

Wilson could only give up with a frown. He had to count on Max. After all, he didn't think these people would just let him leave even if he offered Lear's mother to them. Not to mention, he wouldn't do that in the first place.

In the end, he let out a depressing sigh before activating his True spell.

"Crackle!"

The next instant, the whole area turned into a field of thunder.

….

"Shnk!"

Max pulled the spear out of Logan's chest and his body slowly fell to the ground with a thud. They had been lucky to deal with him before he even got to enter frenzy mode.

"This is the price for underestimating us…" Lear muttered looking at the guy on the ground whose body was slowly reverting back to his human form.

Logan truly had paid the price of underestimating his enemies. If not, the result might have been different all together.

"You have got stronger again?" Lear suddenly looked at Max. He really was speechless at Max's growth. He even doubted that with a bit more strength, this guy would have defeated him all alone.

After all, the domain that Max had released was a bit different and a lot stronger than the previous one. That was what played the main role in defeating this guy.

"Stronger?" Max just smiled at Lear.

He had finally managed to gain the basic control of the power that he had gained with his contract with Andriel. So, it wasn't a surprise that he had a growth in strength. But, that still didn't mean that he could beat a Master Tier Mage at the peak all alone. That would certainly be a death wish.

"Hmmn?"

At this moment, Lear's expression suddenly changed as the messages from Wilson popped up in front of him.

He then raised his head and looked at Max with wide eyes, "I forgot about mom. We are in trouble…"

"But-"

"I am leaving, you got to the Warehouse Yard, there is trouble on that side. I am forwarding you the messages." Lear didn't even give Max a chance to speak and immediately took to the sky.

Max looked at the guy, but didn't stop him. He had actually left Caira outside. She surely was looking out for Lesia. But, she alone may not be enough. Hence, he just allowed Lear to leave.

"But, what is this about Warehouse Yard now?" Max muttered with a frown when the messages from Lear arrived and his expression changed.

Troubles sure weren't ending today.
