The Ancient Genes

Chapter 514 - Clash Of Celestials

"We need to leave and find our team!" Mr. Cool said to Axel and then left in a hurry with Tia and Venice.

"I will go after Max…you two look after the rest..." Wilson said as he glanced at Lear and then at Axel.

As soon as Wilson left, Erina insisted on leaving as well.

"You shouldn't be going….It might be dangerous…" Lear tried to persuade her but without Wilson, there was no one to make her listen.

"I will keep an eye out….there won't be any problem…I won't just let my guard down just because someone is my ally…."  Erin replied with a smile when she suddenly felt a sharp piercing pain in her neck.

"Ouch! What is this?" She pulled the dart stuck to her neck and next instant, dizziness hit her and she fainted.

The last thing which she remembered before falling unconscious was Axel's mocking smile and his gun pointing at her.

Lear looked at Axel with wide eyes and couldn't help but ask, "Did she kill your wife in the previous life?"

"Stop the nonsense….she said she wouldn't let her guard down in front of her allies. So, I just tried to test her…." Axel calmly said without bathing an eye making Lear give him a look.

"Besides, it's dangerous outside…"  Axel further said.

Lear was taken back by hearing his words. When did Axel started to care fir 3D girls? But it seemed Axel hadn't completed his sentence yet..

"Its too dangerous out their and Ocien will definitely be in chaos without their leader. Those guys will definitely suffer losses.." Axel let out an evil laugh and the little bit of good impression he had gained in Lear's eye was thrown away.

Axel didn't pay attention Lear's ugly expression and walked towards Kevin before. asking "Are the things ready…"

"Yes!" Kevin nodded, "I just need to connect it to the batteries…."

"Good! We will place the lights around…" Axel replied.

Kevin had been roaming around collecting light bulbs from the area round and strapped them together to make a bright source of strapped. With help of hoods of the car, he had even managed to make a shiny convex shape structure to concentrate and direct light according to their will.

As for why, they had made it?

It was to deal with the situation on the last day...well it occurred earlier though…

"You sure it's a good idea?" Lear asked.

"Yeah, we won't move out. We will defend...let them come...I will show the beasts how terrifying a formation master can be…" Axel smiled.

"What about the Horde Commander?" Lear asked.

"Let Max and Wilson deal with it...even if they can't fight it, distracting it should not be a problem…."

"Besides, we can contact with each other at a single thought…..we will know if the situation get out of control….If we move out now, we might end up bumping into that thing because no one knows where it is rampaging around...but once Max or Wilson find it, we will know where it is. If that thing starts moving towards us, we will leave immediately…" Axel explained.

"Well that makes sense….moving out right now will be more dangerous…." Lear nodded.

"Things are going to be shaky..I am sure all the Beasts around will be in a frenzy and will be going all around….lets use this chance to score some points..."  Axel said with a smile.

….

"I wonder if anyone has heard it or not…" Valko muttered as he continued to observe the situation from the balcony of the building.

"Uh..they drew the Horde Commander away!!"

"Good job, Valko…" A voice suddenly entered his ears and he was shocked to see a person suddenly standing beside him.

"W-Who are you?!!" Valko pointed the sniper rifle towards the figure nervously.

"Calm down! It's me…" Max said as he lifted the blindfold but still kept his eyes closed.

He had to wear it again for obvious reasons, but who would have thought that he wouldn't even be identified.

"Max!!"

"I just came to check if you are fine or not and it looks like you are.." Max said as he faced him with a smile.

"Stay here for now… I will go out and see what's going on…" He further said before jumping down tye balcony.

At this moment Valko realised that this was the 60th floor….and the place outside was crawling with beasts…

Just how did he managed to come like that as if it was as easy as taking a stroll?

Valko hurriedly looked down the railings but couldn't even catch a glimpse of his figure from that height.

….

As Max moved towards the place where the fight was taking place, he suddenly sensed destructive energy moving towards him.

He immediately halted his steps and as soon as he did, the ground few inches ahead was sliced off and crumbled forming a deep gully.

Max faced towards the guy and as expected, it was his Brother-in-law.

Kain smiled looking at Max, "I didn't expect it to be you…..whats with the blinfold? Is it something new in fashion?"

"Kind of...." Max replied as he tried to move only to be give a warning attack by Kain. "You aren't allowed to go ahead..."

"How about you earn some good points in my book and let me pass?" Max asked with a smile.

"Shouldn't you be the one earning good points with me? How about you leave?" Kain replied with a laugh.

"I am afraid I can't do so?" Max said as he looked at him with calm but serious eyes.

"Then, I would like you to try…" Kain replied as mana began to surge around him.

"Whoosh!"

The two moved and the next instant they clashed.

Max's eyes went wide as he looked at him. He had always thought this guy was not simple but today he realised that he was still underestimating him.

He really had hidden himself well. Even Max hadn't been able to sense it until now but when they came in contact like this, he had clearly felt it. This guy was at the late stage of Expert Tier but was deliberately holding himself back to show the strength of  an early-stage Expert Tier Mage.

He was really overpowered in terms of the younger generation. Even Argus, the Grandsons of the Lord of Kingsman family was around his level or maybe a bit lower.

This clearly showed that even if you counted the Ancient Families's true geniuses, he wasn't losing..

On the other hand, Kain was even more surprised than Max. He knew Max was pretty good but this was not something he was expecting.

Even Nathan might not be able to take a single blow from him and Max had managed to hold onto him.

"This is surprising. It seems Lisa has indeed got good eyes…" Kain said with a smile and a bit of excitement.

"Please...there might be people watching...don't say anything unnecessary.." Max lightly whispered to him.

Kain gave him an understanding look and took a stance again.

Max got ready as well, he didn't have time to deal with this and had to end it quickly…

As they were about to clash again, the structure beside them suddenly exploded and two figures flew out from it and clashed once again before separating.

The two were Alen Blackwood, who was from Orc and the other person was Bahamut's brother, Faryl Zen from Zealand Academy.

Alen and Kain came together naturally as they were teammates.

On the other hand Faryl landed beside Max. They had met once when Max had come to take Kevin along.

"It's Two against Two…." Kain said as he looked at the two.

"Isn't it too early to decide that?" A voice sounded and a figure with a sword drenched in blood landed beside Max.

He was Ren Tiner from the Vienna Academy.

"Shall we work together for once?" He asked looking at the two by his side.
