Stop Messing Around, Mr Bo!

Chapter 161 - A Supposedly Family Dinner

Chapter 161: A Supposedly Family Dinner

Shen Fanxing frowned and went silent for a few seconds before walking in.

“Fanxing is here…”

That voice sounded a little awkward.

Shen Fanxing grimaced slightly. Her upbringing made it impossible for her to ignore the two people opposite her.

It was Cai Jingyi, Su Heng’s mother.

She wore a purple lace dress and she had a well-maintained figure. She had beautiful, lovely features that hinted of her glorious beauty in her younger days.

Seated beside her was a middle-aged man in a suit, Su Bingyou.

Though his face appeared stern, it didn’t affect his good looks and charm. Su Heng resembled him indeed.

No matter what happened between her and Su Heng, it was nevertheless the problem between both of them.

She had never thought of venting her anger at Su Heng’s betrayal on the two elders.

But why did they have to meet on such an awkward occasion?

What Jiang Rongrong had implied was that it was the Shen family’s dinner tonight.

What did the presence of the two elders mean?

Shen Fanxing’s nonchalance resulted in Cai Jingyi looking awkwardly at her husband.

Su Bingyou sent her a comforting look, his face showing resignation.

“The elders have already taken the initiative to greet you. What kind of attitude is this?”

Shen Defan hissed in a low voice, upset with Shen Fanxing’s attitude that had strained the atmosphere the moment she stepped in.

“It’s fine, it’s fine…”

Cai Jingyi hurried to ease the tension. After all, she didn’t dislike Shen Fanxing and besides, it was their family who had let her down.

Shen Fanxing ignored Shen Defan. From the moment she stepped in, she didn’t deign to glance at Shen Defan or Yang Liwei at all.

Shen Fanxing poured herself a cup of water and took a sip. Just as she placed the cup on the table, soft laughter sounded from the door.

“Grandpa’s right. You’re beautiful to begin with, even if you wear a torn rag.”

“What? I’m not wearing a torn rag!”

Shen Fanxing tightened her grip on the cup. Her back was facing the door and she didn’t turn around. Her figure was concealed by the tall chair.

Shen Shanghua’s laughter got closer, and her heart turned cold.

She told herself that she shouldn’t feel this way. Shen Qianrou was also his granddaughter, and there was nothing wrong with him treating her equally.

But if her grandfather were the one who had invited her to the gathering, did he pause to think about how ridiculous she would be?

Su Heng pushed Shen Shanghua, who was sitting in the wheelchair, while Shen Qianrou held Su Heng’s arm. They walked in chatting happily.

“Uncle, Auntie, you’re all here? Sorry, Su Heng and I went home to pick Grandpa.”

Shen Qianrou must have noticed Su Heng’s parents the moment she entered, so she explained shyly why she was late.

Cai Jingyi smiled at her and said, “It’s fine. That’s what the two of you should do.”

Shen Defan grinned brightly and added, “Look, nothing has been confirmed yet. But she didn’t even notice her biological parents anymore!”

“Dad, what are you saying?”

Shen Qianrou stomped her feet and pouted at Shen Defan with a red face.

Cai Jingyi smiled and teased, “Yes indeed. A married daughter is like water being poured away. Qianrou will be the water in the Su family from now on. Of course, she’ll have to coax me. She has good foresight!”

“Haha! She isn’t water. She’s the beloved daughter of the Shen family…”
